Avatar n tn Its obvious that crambone is uneducated in this topic so I would just ignore him. After many visits to several physicians...countless antibiotics, mouthwashes, nasal rinses, ect...And even a tonsillectomy..I took it upon myself to research online...Your doctors may only be treating a bacteria infection rather than fungal...it is quite possible you have yeast in your sinus and lungs..and even your intestines...I am currently taking Fluconazole 150mg for candida ...
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn my dr gave me fluconazole for my infection ,3 pills in 3 days .should we skip or take it regular.because she told me take it wednesday ,thursday ,and sunday,,thank..
Avatar f tn Also I started using a mouth wash which I have never used before. Now I am on sudafed, Zyrtec nasal spray and since I told my dr I had tested positive for yeast I'm on fluconazole for 14 days. My dr thinks what I have is mucus and drainage. Starting day 5 of all of theses meds with no improvement thus far. Also tongue has started to swell a bit and has scalloped edges. My tongue has been fine up until this point no sores and no discoloration of any kind. Questions: Could this be thrush?
Avatar f tn The fact that you get lots of infections and have nasty Post-Nasal Drip points toward Point #1. If you have had no luck with antibiotics, or other forms of nasal irrigation, a Sinus Flush will be good option. 1. Some people, including myself, have had a smell that only they can smell. It could smell like dog-poop, old cheese, ammonia, a burning smell, etc. The smell comes on, often, as a result of a cold or sinus infection.
Avatar m tn Finally, some patients have doctors who have diagnosed a yeast infection in the gut, which cause the smell which comes out through the sinuses or breath, and prescribed Fluconazole 150mg. This looks somewhat promising, but Fluconazole must be administered by a doctor at any rate. Here is the Medhelp thread for that: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Respiratory-Disorders/Bad-smell-coming-from-noseFound-a-Cure-Yayyyy/show/520721 http://www.medhelp.
Avatar m tn Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
Avatar f tn Several years ago, a doctors prescribed steroids (Predisone) to reduce nasal polyps and prescribed antibiotics for frequent sinus infections. In 2003, I had nasal surgery to remove the nasal polyps. The steroids were discontinued yet today I suffer with chronic sinusitis. I am now taking Claritin and Singulair for the chronic sinusitis and Kolorex daily for yeast control. I also take Valtrex as needed for periodic nasal cold sores.
Avatar f tn Sure, it is safe to take. I personally like the one day Monostat ovules for yeast infections but fluconazole works really great. Hope it clears it up quickly!
Avatar f tn I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...
Avatar n tn On days when I eat nothing or no carbohydrates at all, I wake with a clear nasal passage and very little if any gas at all. Unfortunately this isnt a viable or healthy way to live. The first diagnosis my doctor gave me was fungal infection on count of white coating on tongue and prescribed fluconazole. When that didnt work I was made to take medical tests including endoscopy and colonoscopy which came back clean but gave me prev-pac for signs of bacterial infection in my stomach.
Avatar f tn Based off the symptoms I was having they told me that I had a yeast infection-(I had one about three months ago). They prescribed me fluconazole. I took it and felt better, but went back into my gynecologist for a follow up on Thursday(my symptoms were almost completely gone at this point.) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day.
Avatar f tn but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
Avatar m tn Does not work in many, fluconazole. Your doc may put you on terbinafine, or griseofulvin for best results.
Avatar n tn He is Rxing fluconazole for 6 weeks, one tab a day, 100mg. Is this safe? I am healthy for the most part, 40 yr old female with Hashimoto's. My main symptom is chronic stomach bloating. He is doing an ultrsound and x-ray of abdomen as well but wanted to get advice on this long term use of fluconazole. Thank you for your time.
Avatar n tn It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days. What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
Avatar f tn I go to a 3rd dr and after looking in my throat he says I do not have thrush but he went a head and gave me 14 days of fluconazole because I told him I tested positive for yeast. He also gave me sudafed, prescription Zyrtec and nasal spray I'm on day 4 of all these meds and I still have the spots and now I have scalloped tongue. He said the patches which are whitish gray and are smooth and elongated and do look like drainage are only mucus from sinus drainage.
Avatar m tn This time I took fluconazole 150 mg that my doctor prescribed at the last visit. I even took a second dose 72 hours later and I am still having itching, redness, and soreness. I am scared now, I don't know why fluconazole isn't working (it worked for me in the past). What else can I use? I feel out of options, since fluconazole failed. It can't be bacterial, because discharge is white and odorless.
Avatar f tn Hello ladies I look the pill Fluconazole because I think I have a yeast infection my OB gave me two Fluconazole pills last month but I only need one and I just took the other one today. Now I'm scared because I don't know if I could take this pill this late in my pregnancy I'm 39 week now. Have anyone ever took this pill after 35 weeks?
Avatar f tn Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
Avatar n tn So It has been around 3-4 weeks and I still having symptoms. First I was taking Nystatin then my Doctor prescribed me Fluconazole. While I was taking this medications I felt like it was only preventing it from getting worse and not actually addressing the root cause. Just a couple days ago I stopped taking Fluconazole and my tongue and lips again started to get swollen. I have also been taking pro-biotics and have been eating natural yougurt.
Avatar f tn I was then prescribed Nystatin oral suspension (3 bottles) and using it helped, but it did not completely clear the thrush. I went to my GP and he then prescribed Fluconazole tablets for me (50mg for 22 days). This has not cleared the thrush either. Up till now, my thrush is still not cleared (since november 2010). I am afraid that it might have become very resistant to medication. Could you please advise me on what to do? Are there any other medications that I can take?
