For yeast infections I was always given either monistat or fluconazole. A bacterial infection like BV would require metronidazole (flagyl).
Yea.. just speak to your doctor tomorrow and ask can you have fluconazole unit dose it's a one time use tablet to treat yeast... Aka fungal infections...

I have read your answer on the above question. I am an uncircumsized male who has had recurring problems with this condition. You trangressed to mites, and hydrocortizone creame. My scrotum became highly inflamed and red with itching. What worked for me was clotrimazole creame or triazole. These are antifungal drugs and the results were amazing. If you have a way to help those that seemed to get no answer please let them know.
is the vaginal infection thrush ? coz if so thats fungus not bacteria and antibiotics wont help that 1 dose of fluconazole will tho .
This didnt help and a week after I went for another follow up with the same doctor, This time while he was examining me, because I was still showing those symptoms, he told me that he sees like it was a Yeast infection(that is for the second time I was diagnosed with this but with first time, Fluconazole didnt help) I was again prescribed a Metronidazole (4 tablets at once) and a vaginal cream terconazole.
I went to see my Gyno on 4/16 and was prescribed Metronidazole 500mg and Fluconazole 150 mg tablets. After treatment, my symptoms did not stop or lessen. i have been given Gynazole (sp), miconazole, metronidazole, flagyl, fluconazole, and have also tried tioconazole, to no avail. So I stopped going to doctors for it. But now I want to get an IUD, and I am wondering if the IUD can be inserted during the presence of a yeast infection? I know certain infections are contraindications, but are yeast infections? I don't think they can spread to the cervix/uterus.

If you are currently taking doxycycline hyclate 100mg twice a day 2 weeks, fluconazole 200mg once a day for one week, metronidazole 500mg twice a day, will these medications treat anal oral and genital gonorrhea? Or are there different meds for each one?
Flagyl almost always causes yeast overgrowth so even though you treated yourself with over the counter medication the fact that you began Flagyl/Metronidazole after the fact possibly caused the overgrowth of yeast again. If there's ever a next time, ask your doctor to prescribe fluconazole/Diflucan - or use the 3 or 7 day over the counter treatment.

I do not itch, no burn, I feel nothing, first took fluconazole and clotrimazole, and not said anything for 1 week. I am now going bacitracin + neomycin and I buy a metronidazole ... I certainly do not get into sex and got after using a simulated oral sex that I was not very clean ...

Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

Then other symptoms slowly started to occur such as profuse grey vaginal discharge, went to see OBGYN and was treated for a suspected bacterial infection with metronidazole for one week, with some improvement. one week post exposure was tested for UTI and hepatitis and herpes 1/2. negative for UTI/culture, neg for hepatitis, positive for herpes 1 igG test 5.12 and negative for herpes 2 igG < 0.91. tested one week later again and was 5.07 fo herpes 1 and 0.91 for herpes 2 (equivocal).
