Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
I took Fluconazole for a yeast infection a month ago. I had develope three small rash on my chin. Today when I got up I notice the rash is on the side of my nose and near my left eye. I do know that one of the side affect of this medication is rash. is this normal to have a rash that is spreading and has lasted for weeks because of this medication?
Hi, I'm 32 yrs old and a mother of two. The youngest is 14months. I know that I'm supposed to have hairloss after birth, but I noticed that it was turning into patches of baldness. I've tried to better my diet and when doing a bit of research, found that one of the side effects of taking fluconazole was hair loss. I've immediately stop taking this and want to know if my hairloss situation should get better.

I began taking fluconazole once a week for 4 weeks. I had a cbc done the day I began taking the medication and my platelets were at 201,000. About 2-3 weeks into the medication I noticed the dots, some on my abdomen inner thighs and arms. There are only a few and separated not like a petechial rash(clumped together). It's been a month since my last pill. I'm a 21 year old male with a very non- active/bad nutrition lifestyle. Any thoughts?
hi i have taken tablet fluconazole 300mg at the end of 4 weeks of pregnancy.that is approximately on the 11th day of conception. i m a primigravida aged 32 yrs and a general practitioner. i m really worried wheather 2 continue this pregnancy as effect of the tab lasts for 7 days in blood and medical literature i reffered 2 shows that even a single tab fluconazole taken during pregnancy has left to birth defects.
It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. s lasted around 4 months in genital area, tested for STDs all negative. Doctor unsure as no obvious rash, prescribed 4 weeks of fluconazole to see if it is a fungal infection, 50mg every morning for 4 weeks.
Now the itching is still present 3 weeks in, would you expect the itching to have subsided by now? I'm unsure how this drug works.

I completed my last dose of metronidazole 4 days ago and also took fluconazole after completion. I noticed a yellow tint on both sides of my tongue the Friday I completed the last pill and took the fluconazole. I was instructed to take metronidazole 2times daily for 7 days. I was prescribed Bactrim and fluconazole in case yeast infection was to arise. I do not know how long it took for symptoms to arise after taking this medication, because I was unaware any side effects could ever effect me, and also... I'm not really the one to... pin point the how and why? well until now.
Some time ... hours, minutes , days after the oral dose of Bactrim I did develop a yeast infection. I mean, I had all the symptoms of one... and it was just brought on suddenly .

Doctor said its just a yeast infection and gave me 30 days medication! and 8 weeks Fluconazole 400 mg per week and an anti bacterial cream to apply on the penis head twice a day!! but i still feel that burning sensation occasionally and when i apply that cream that burning sensation is little bit higher!!

First there were white spots in meatus, then i cleaned them up, and doc said i gotta take a fluconazole and apply miconazole on my penis. I applied miconazole this morning and it itches like hell. Is this how it's supposed to be, like side effects, or it just doesn't work that way?
I was then prescribed Nystatin oral suspension (3 bottles) and using it helped, but it did not completely clear the thrush. I went to my GP and he then prescribed Fluconazole tablets for me (50mg for 22 days). This has not cleared the thrush either.
Up till now, my thrush is still not cleared (since november 2010). I am afraid that it might have become very resistant to medication. Could you please advise me on what to do? Are there any other medications that I can take?
This comes in capsule form that you can also buy from the pharmacy without prescription. There is Fluconazole 150mg that is a single dose oral capsule and Fluconazole 50mg that comes in a pack of 7 which one capsule is taken daily for the 7 days.
If you are sexually active, it would be a good idea to get checked out for any STD and also have your blood tested for diabetes.
Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
