I used to have problems with yeast before so I thought it may be yeast infection. I took 300mg single dose of fluconazole and used canesten cream. I was sort of expecting significant improvement. That didn't happen. It seems to be little bit better, but it does not seem to heal as fast as I would expect after taking fluconazole.
Now I am concerned it may be herpes. How long after onset of first symptoms (red patches) would blisters appear?
Would they always appear?

Im not sure if i have herpes or not. I had sex a little over a week ago, and on the sixth day i experienced painful urination. its been painful for about 7 days now and also have noticed three little red bumps on the foreskin, that have lasted as long as the painful urination. I had got it checked out by my doctor who says it may be a fungal infection, so he gave me fluconazole. at the same time he was not certain what it was and told me that it would be too early to test for herpes.
I've been to my doctor to see if they can help me and the gave me fluconazole 150mg. But I notice that I have these patches on my penis one under my foreskin and the other 3 under my my shaft. I've been tested only Positive for oral herpes, everything else was negative. The patches are shiny and itchy I don't know if I should go to a different doctor or a specialist.
Here is my problem about 8 weeks ago i had a herpes outbreak and it was bad take my meds last about 7 days before clearing up. Now at the same time i got a fungal infection in my Groin that is not going away. This time my mouth started to bother me , started with my tongue then i got sores in my mouth last only a day or two then my submental lymph nodes under chin started to ache with some gum aches and the aches are not bad.... when to dentist, ENT said everything is looking fine...

With or without steroid therapy, herpes lesions cannot appear and disappear in a matter of hours. Once a herpes lesion is present, it can't clear entirely in under a week, and generally it's 10-14 days -- and would go through an open sore and scab phase before healing.
For those reasons, you really didn't need any of the STD testing you had. There was simply no risk for any of the infections for which you were tested.

Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

He prescribed me Bactrum to kill any remaining bacteria from the bladder infection and fluconazole for my beginning signs of a yeast infection. Saturday night I took the anti fungal first, then I proceeded to start my course of antibiotics. I woke up in the middle of the night with extreme itching and burning. I kept waking up and scratching like crazy to get relief. It started hurting and swelling up my labia because of all the scratching.

on march 3, i stupidly had unprotected vaginal and oral sex with someone who the next day informed me that they had hepatitis C and genital herpes. The sex was pretty rough and i believe i got my period during the act because there was some bleeding that night and the next day only (believe short period due to taking birth control pills). I went to see an OBGNY because i had a lesion on my vaginal lips..it was red NOT bumpy looks irritated. She mention it may be herpes. she didn't prescribe me anything because the virus was going away, but she took a sample of the virus and took blood from me. I did a full STI test and everything came out negative. the collected sample came out negative for herpes.
She also said the bumps and swelling look like it could be a reaction from the Fluconazole. She took a sample from the bumps on my thigh and sent it in to get it tested for herpes. She assumed my symptoms were from a staph infection and put me on Cephalexin for a week. The test for herpes came back negative but I have yet to get the results for my pap smear. I've been on Cephalexin for 2 days and my itching is still here.
I have herpes I & II with the last outbreak being almost two years ago, on the 15 Jul 08 I came out with what seemed like a penile yeast infection, I was treated with one fluconazole 150 and Lotrisone cream for 14 days, went away well, I also take Zocor for my hereditary high cholesterol.

Doubtful. The bacteria transferred from the mouth to the vagina causes havoc down there especially if the mouth is not clean. In other words, before oral sex even begins, consider the use of a dental dam (lets be real though, that almost never happens these days) or send him to brush his teeth and use mouth wash while he's at it.

I found my current Gynocologist, who prescribed a week of fluconazole, taken once daily, which seemed to help the dryness and rashy irritation, but not the burning, aching, and sporadic itching. After more fluconazole, she switched me to the birth control pill (which made me too sick to function) and put me on Zoloft (which made me too depressed to get out of bed), diagnosing me with vulvodynia, something I'd never heard of. I just wonder... How did this happen?
He may instead prescribe a medication like Fluconazole which comes as a capsule. You can purchase Fluconazole 100mg (1 single dose) without a prescription from the pharmacist, but the doctor can prescribe a stronger and longer term use if this is required.
Get it seen to so that you can get the correct diagnose and the correct treatment as soon as possible. Avoid kissing and oral sex to avoid passing it on.
I went to a doctor and he said he believed it was a yeast infection and prescribed fluconazole. It also appeared to work until i fell asleep drunk with jeans on , the next morning i was irratated again. I returned to the doctors, the fluconazole no longer working and he sent me to the lab for a urine analysis; which returned negative. I heard herpes cant be detected via urine and when i asked him if he was sure it couldnt be herpes he reassured me it was not, only irratation.

Around 2 months ago I had sexual contact (not intercourse) with a girl. I used a condom nearly all the time but there was a 20-30 second period where there was direct contact. The girl had never had any kind of sexual contact with anyone before and is sure that she has no STD. Before that my last sexual contact was 9 months earlier, with a condom, and I was tested immediately afterwards. A few weeks ago i noticed several white bumps on the inside of my foreskin.
