For yeast infections I was always given either monistat or fluconazole. A bacterial infection like BV would require metronidazole (flagyl).
Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.

So I was diagnosed with a yeast infection earlier in the month and was prescribed fluconazole for it. But a few days later I seen my partner again and we did it without protection and he thinks he has it as well.

It said my PH was normal so I began Monistat 7 day. I have now had 6 doses of that, and my Doctor prescribed me Fluconazole. I took that almost 72 hours ago and it feels like since all this treatment, the itching is just worse. It now itches more inside too. When should i get some relief? She said if the fluconazole doesn't work in 3 days to take a second dose, which I will do today.
Is this all normal? I'm a virgin so it's nothing sexually transmitted.
And I also wanted to add that after having my daughter.......I have not gotten one since. For some reason, I used to get them monthly....its been 4 months and I have NOT had one!!!!! so happy about that.
I have been using monistat 7 days. Eating yogurt and garlic a LOT. It's miserable!

the only reason why I've never used monistat or anything like that was because depending on your body, it could make it worse.
I tried something in the past that made my yeast infection wayyyyyy worse, and I swore I'd never self-treat ever, ever, ever again.. I was prescribed something else that I had to inject in my vagina for 3 or 4 nights once.. I'll NEVER remember the name of that though.

I tried miconazole and it has done the job, even though clotrimazole and fluconazole didn't work. Thank you very much.

There are no known interactions between fluconazole and propranolol, so you can safely take them together.

Well i thought i had cleared up but i could be wrong and then i got the yest infection again. So i went back to the doctor and again i had the sti so they gave me another dose of antibiotics and told me to use monistat. I told them that it didn't work last time but the doctor just told me to use it.
Ask for the fluconazole tablet from your doctor. It'll treat your yeast infection better and faster than Monistat and is far more convenient since it's a single pill you only have to take once.
Honestly, yeast isn't the only thing that can cause the same symptoms of a yeast infection, so I'd go to your ob and request a culture to make sure you're not working with a bacterial infection or anything more sinister...
I'd rather use the creams. I'm currently battling an external yeast infection that has affected the top of my inner thighs (where the leg and vulva meet), my vulva and it's creases, lower abdomen and the very bottom of my butt. Also, near my vaginal opening I scratched myself too hard so there's scratches and it burns like a mother when I pee and the urine flows downward onto it. I am on the larger side of the body size scale (about 5'6 and over 300lbs).
he took a urine sample for now. i have been taking the fluconazole for 2 days along with monistat. the three red bumps also have some white discharge from them and they do seem like they might be ulcerations because they look like little craters with white on the inside. it does not hurt to touch them although they are a bit sensetive. I dont know what this might be can someone please give me some more info.
You can get something like a cream (Canesten, Monistat) or you can get fluconazole (Diflucan) which is a tablet. The tablet takes a little longer to work as it needs to get into your bloodstream first. The cream gives you relief faster.
ve had a constant, unbearable itch since october of 2009 which started around the same time my period did. at first, i thought it was a yeast infection and used a 3day monistat treatment. the itch came back when my period ended. i again tried monistat and it didn't do a damn thing. i tried a product called yeast arrest which has a mixture of anti fungals, and went to planned parent hood.
I developed a yeast around 8 weeks of pregnancy tried monistat and it burned like crazy so i only used it that one night out of 7. The dr said to try and let it go on its own. Now at 13 weeks pregnant symptoms are starting to arise again and i was preacribed terconazole. Just so many horrible things about it online that it scares me. Took the first dose laat night. Anyone have experience with yeast infections durimg prwgnancy and this med?
She came back and said she barely saw any yeast and she thought maybe it was because I had just used Monistat 7, so she put me on Fluconazole to clear up my yeast. My yeast cleared up after 3 days and my symptoms were relieved, but the itching came back 4 days later. I also noticed these small red bumps on my slightly swollen inner vagina that didn't itch and weren't painful. I went back to see another doctor and to also get tested for STDs.
It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days.
What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
I had protected vagina sex and unprotected vagina oral sex with a guy couple days later I started having a itching, burning sensation in my vagina area also I had thick white discharge, I peeped down there and noticed a rash so I used the one day monistat and it went away but my vagina in the inside was swollen so I went to the health department and they looked and tested me and I came back positive for BV I was given Flagyl and after taking the flagyl the rash appeared again with cottage cheese
