A month ago I was treated for a yeast infection with Fluconazole 150mg tablet. A few hours after I had taken it I began to develop an itchy red rash on the corner of my lips and by the next day it had spread to cover the entirety of my lips. I also felt a tightness in my throat. I called my physician and she recommended I take Benadryl and go to the ER if the symptoms worsened, they didn't and the Benadryl seemed to help with the rash on my lips.
Seeking a third opinion,
I found my current Gynocologist, who prescribed a week of fluconazole, taken once daily, which seemed to help the dryness and rashy irritation, but not the burning, aching, and sporadic itching. After more fluconazole, she switched me to the birth control pill (which made me too sick to function) and put me on Zoloft (which made me too depressed to get out of bed), diagnosing me with vulvodynia, something I'd never heard of. I just wonder... How did this happen?
Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
my dr gave me fluconazole for my infection ,3 pills in 3 days .should we skip or take it regular.because she told me take it wednesday ,thursday ,and sunday,,thank..
s lasted around 4 months in genital area, tested for STDs all negative. Doctor unsure as no obvious rash, prescribed 4 weeks of fluconazole to see if it is a fungal infection, 50mg every morning for 4 weeks.
Now the itching is still present 3 weeks in, would you expect the itching to have subsided by now? I'm unsure how this drug works.
Also I seemed to develop a small red rash whilst on these tablets that comes and goes?
This comes in capsule form that you can also buy from the pharmacy without prescription. There is Fluconazole 150mg that is a single dose oral capsule and Fluconazole 50mg that comes in a pack of 7 which one capsule is taken daily for the 7 days.
If you are sexually active, it would be a good idea to get checked out for any STD and also have your blood tested for diabetes.
I have had weekly thrush infections for over three years now and have yet to find out exactly why this keeps recurring. My tongue has been cultured, and the coating was found to be Candida albicans. I've been to quite a few doctors, including ENT, infectious disease, allergy, and gastroenterology specialists. Not one of them can offer me any advice on how to rid myself of this painful illness, except for advising me to use antifungals on a regular basis.

for some anti biotics to get it under control first, if that is what it is.
My beagles lips, face, belly would get very red, then get bacterial pyodermas, then fungal infections/yeast too....needed cephalexin and fluconazole for awhile.
I also give him benedryl, fish oil (omega3) and do some other things.

It may be a bacterial infection. A doctor would do a swab to find out if that is the case and prescribe the correct medication for you to use and possibly your husband too.
The other condition it may be is a yeast infection called Thrush. A swab test would confirm if this was the case.
If you have a white discharge this usually indicates a fungal infection, a yellow and very smelly discharge would indicate a bacterial infection.
Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
Sure, it is safe to take. I personally like the one day Monostat ovules for yeast infections but fluconazole works really great. Hope it clears it up quickly!
I've taken Clindamycin and fluconazole to kill a yeast infection. But now my doctor tells me I might possibly get it back because antibiotics can cause yeast infections. I'm not even sure...
Based off the symptoms I was having they told me that I had a yeast infection-(I had one about three months ago). They prescribed me fluconazole. I took it and felt better, but went back into my gynecologist for a follow up on Thursday(my symptoms were almost completely gone at this point.) They took a swab and said it the results said no it wasn’t a yeast infection, but she said yes she was sure I had had one. I took she told me to take the second dose of fluconazole, which I did that day.
but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???

Allergy to any soap, detergent, chemicals, and deodorants can all cause such rash. Bacterial and fungal infections are few other possibilities.Scabies is a parsaitc infection caused by mite Sarcoptes scabiei .
Does not work in many, fluconazole. Your doc may put you on terbinafine, or griseofulvin for best results.
He is Rxing fluconazole for 6 weeks, one tab a day, 100mg. Is this safe? I am healthy for the most part, 40 yr old female with Hashimoto's. My main symptom is chronic stomach bloating. It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days.
What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
I am 56 year old woman who was diagnoised with COPD 10 years ago. I am not taking any oral steroids at this time. I use Duo Neb Inhalation 2 times per day and oxygen on 2 L continously. The Pulmonary Doctor keeps having me try to use Advair but I get thrush in my mouth anytime I'm on Advair or oral steroids. So I try to avoid them if at all possible. I am currently using Spiriva HandiHaler which I believe is not suppose to have any steroids but I keep getting Thrush in my mouth !
