floxin

903138 tn?1266767041 m not even congested). I normally take floxin otic when I have fluid in my ear. Should I try going to another doctor and getting the floxin, just take the sudafed, or just wait it out in pain? It's already been 5 days of sharp pain, and I'm not really sure what to do/what is wrong? Thank you.
Avatar f tn i went back to see anothe doctore and prescribe sofradex ear drops and advice me to stop using kenacomb otic. it is now day 5 and my hearing on one ear is still muffled. I can hear normally when i use the phone on that ear but it is just the annoying muffled sound that is persistent. can you please help me. what can i do to stop the muffled sound in my ear?
Avatar n tn Likewise, I was given eye drops (TobraDex) after the floxin ear drops failed to clear up a resistant infection. I don't think it will hurt you, but mine burned a bit when I first put them in. My ENT said the eye drops have a steroid, so they it is more aggressive at killing infections. Anyways, after 3 weeks of the eye drops....even the eye drops hasn't fully killed the infection, so I guess I have a particularly nasty strain.
Avatar m tn She has used OTIC drops prescribed by doctor but itching persists and as a result ear bud or finger need to used frequently to ease the pain and itch. Ear appears to be dry as tiny white dots are seen with occasional flake.
Avatar m tn the first 6 days when i put the drops he seems fine but now on the seventh day when i put the drops he`s crying ,its like he`s feeling some burning sensation or maybe stinging..i dont know what he really feels..he`s only 21 mos.my question is ..is that normal..after 6 days of drops suddenly he feels uncomfortable?
1899725 tn?1321500363 My 8 year son has had an ear infection for 5 weeks now. We've gone through a course of Ciprodex otic drops and a course of Neomycin/Polymyxin B ear drops. He's also been on Keflex and Augmentin. The doctor keeps telling me it's "swimmer's ear" or "just an ear infection" and should go away soon. 5 weeks of dealing with my child hurting is not soon enough. I'm actually a pediatic RN and know that this is not normal.
Avatar n tn He has an ear infection, which I have learned is common in goldens. His vet had me treat it with ear drops and antibiotics. He went back today (after 2 weeks) and they said that he would need to have his ear flushed. This procedure would cause him to be put under sedation. The cost would be over 250.00. The vet said that he has wax and debris in his ear canal and if it is not treated, his ear drum could rupture, causing hearing loss and further infection. Is this truly necessary?
1232362 tn?1333135406 the pain never really cleared up and the day before i went back to the dr and got script for ear drops it was qute severe. she said she saw fluid in both ears but not enough to warrant the pain i felt and if the drops don't correct i may have to see an ent specialist and may require tubes. what is this procedure? I'm 46 and have never had a problem w/my ears before! i have no fluid coming out of them, have some slight dizziness.
Avatar n tn Epi-Otic Ear Cleanser ($12.95 from Amazon) for an initial cleanse, the finish off with Mometamax Otic Suspension ($26.99 from 1-800-PetMeds). You'll need an Rx from your vet for the Momentamax, but it's the best thing since sliced bread and will knock out a yeast infection quicker than you can say M-O-M-E-N-T-A-M-A-X. My English Mastiff is prone to them, and this combination has always worked well for her.
Avatar n tn Ask you vet for dosing on any over the counter one such as benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Tavist (clemastine) or Chlortrimeton (chlorpheniramine) BUT most important get your pup on oral antibiotics and antifungals along with a good topical ear med like otomax or for really bad yeast clotrimazole drops. Also try cleansing the ear with a mixture of Domeboro solution.
Avatar m tn In the month of May, I returned to home from college and I started to experience ear pain and fullness. Went to some local doctor, the doc prescribed ear wax drops. It did not help. Then, I followed with a series of appointments with several doctors some prescribing cold tabs and some antibiotics. It did not help the hearing but the pain went away. In july, I went to an ENT doctor, she prescribed me a nasal spray, cold tabs and asked me to do valsalva maneuver.
Avatar m tn To ease ear pain, apply a warm washcloth or a heating pad set on low. Follow the instructions for ear drops and complete your antibiotic course. You can use OTC Acetaminophen also for relief from pain. However, if symptoms worsen, consult your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I had to look up your medications. So the Pantocid and Floxin are not for OCD...they are heartburn and ear respectively. The Sizodon is Risperidone used for mood disorders and the clonil is for OCD. Did you google the side effects of each drug? Did the doc say why he/she was putting you on Sizodon and clonil together?
600619 tn?1219707750 One of my dogs got a horrible yeast infection in one ear and after he finished the meds, the epi-otic has really kept his ears healthy.
Avatar n tn Excellent advice, merceditas. Ciprodex otic is an antibiotic ear drop that combines the antibiotic ciprofloxacin with the glucocorticoid steroid dexamethasone. While both of these things are safe to use on a dog, human-strength drugs are often too strong to be used on our much-smaller four-legged companions, and what starts out as a well-meaning gesture quickly turns into a medical emergency far bigger than the original problem.
1621608 tn?1339519872 Baytril Otic, twice daily in ear; Otomax, twice daily in ear; or Mometamax once daily. Oral antibiotics that would help would be: Cephalexin at a dose of 25mg per Kg. twice daily for at least 14 to 21 days. Other antibiotic choices are: Ciprofloxacin and Enrofloxacin (Baytril) at a dose of 5 to 10 mg per Kg. twice daily for Ciprofloxacin and once daily for Enrofloxacin (Baytril). Even Amoxicillin would help. I do not know the size of this dog.
Avatar f tn I have had itchy, flaking, draining ears ever since swimming in a pool down at DisneyLand 25 years ago. I would use the prescription antibiotics drops, which would relieve the problem for a little while, but then the whole thing would start over again. Recently I have used two new product that seem to be the answer. Don't laugh but there is a non-prescription otic solution used on dogs with the same types of symptons called ZYMOX with hydrocortisone (Amazon.com).
Avatar f tn The best way to eliminate your dogs ear infections is with a culture and sensivity of the ear exudate which will reveal the exact cause and best medication to clear your dogs ear infection.
Avatar m tn My dog has a mild yeast infection in her left ear but she may have a tear in her eadrdrum. The vet gave us TrizEDTA but due to her losing her hearing from Tri-Otic, we didn't want to use any more ear medication that can cause hearing loss. I've recently started making her home cooked meals, wipe her down with apple cider vinegar+water, and flushing her ears out every other day plus cleaning the outer part of her ears on days I don't flush.
Avatar m tn Drug interecation. dog is new to gabapentin, ear flap is all crusty itchy. Has been on and is currently taking, methocarbamol, tramadol, carporfen.
Avatar f tn I'm using Zymox Otic now, on my 3rd day. I've had itchy wet, peeling ears for 4 years. Tried everything. Read lots of posts. I'm trying Zymox and not yet seeing any relief. I do notice that my ears feel especially itchy while I have the Zymox in my ear, maybe because it's "working"? And at night I tend to scratch them when I'm half asleep, and they seem especially sensitive afterward.
Avatar m tn Hi, 13 YEARS A GO I HAD A KIDNEY INFECTION WITH A BACTERIA CALL ESCHERICHIA-COLI, AFTER I TOOK THE MEDICATION FOR 10 DAYS , ABOUT A WEEK AFTER, I STARTED WITH PAIN AND BURNING SENSATION ON THE HEAD OF MY PENIS,,I WENT TO ALL TYPES OF DOCTORS, UROLOGIST, DERMATOLOGIST AND THEY ALL TOLL ME THAT I DID NOT HAVE ANY THING, HOW EVER THEY WOULD GIVE ME ALL KINDS OF CREAMS THAT, DID NOT DO ANY THING FOR ME ,,I MET A LADY WHO HAD THE SAME SYNTOMS FOR ABOUT 12 YEARS, SHE WAS ADVISED BY A FRIEND DOCT
Avatar f tn My right side is also getting some strange tremor-like experiences when I am walking. Oh and my hearing is worse in that ear, as well as the ear that was not affected. As a matter of fact the other ear has this strange motorcycle sound in it. Um, any thoughts about what is going on?! I should note that I have been diagnosed with migraines before (basilar, otic), as well as some form of dysautonomia. But this is not usual for me even with these conditions, and it is freaking me out.
Avatar f tn I believe it is the cause of a number of inner ear disturbances (hearing loss, ear pain, fullness, tinnitus, hyperacusis, middle ear muscle spasms etc etc), migraines (otic and basilar), random episodes of really tight neck, jaw, and facial muscles, severe depression, thyroid issues, and a number of other various neurological and vascular complaints.
5629636 tn?1371253040 I am heart broken over my dogs chronic ear infections. There has GOT to be something better that I can do to help her. She is absolutely miserable. We've done venison, bison, poultry, fish diets. I won't feed her anything beef because she's definitely allergic. We've given her prednisone, kentaconazole, used the antiseborrheic and cleansing solution, Surolan, Mometamax & Posatex. NOTHING works. My poor dog is miserable and I am in tears watching her go through this.

288415 tn?1231630502 Went to the doctor and they said the same thing about the shower thing which was rediculous. I have went to an ear noise throat specialize and they only gave me ear drops. the first dr suggested it was wax. I said wax isnt wet. I can feel it draining when Im laying down. I have had this for about 3yrs now. drives me crazy. I am thinking of going to a dermatologist next, has anyone went to one yet?
Avatar m tn I got a cat 2 years ago at the humane society. At first he seemed fine but within 6 months he had developed chronic ear discahrge from one ear. It has never gone away. We've had him to at least 4 vets, and one pet dermatologist. They can find nothing wrong. They've looked for ear mites, polyps, bacterial infections etc.. Everything shows up negative. Despite also vomitting more frequently than most cats, he is otherwise extremely healthy and active.
