Avatar f tn Exercise is fine as long as you listen to your body and know when it's time to stop. The only concern I would have with soccer is getting hit in the stomach.
Avatar m tn My four years kid lately is suffering from knee pain started on one knee then for both knees and sometimes he cries. He loves soccer. He is having soccer training in the club 3 times weekly for about 1:30 hours each session and he wears soccer shoes from about 4 months.
Avatar n tn Hi Alex -- I am not a doctor, but when I had the symptoms you describe, at its worst when going down stairs, steep hills, or when I put weight on it such as in a lunge or squat, mine was caused by a stress fracture in my tibial plateau. I would suggest getting it looked at soon. It's been 9 months since mine occurred, I was non-weight bearing to partial weight-bearing for 12 weeks, and I'm still having problems.
Avatar m tn Flexibility can come thru training as in gymnastics or dance...but those that r just a little better may also have EDS.....so, u have to get the testing....
Avatar f tn Also a soccer player and also so tempted to play through pain. Groin injuries are common in soccer. It could be a sports hernia. It could also be a healing pulled groin muscle. Does the pain increase with exertion?
Avatar f tn Because of its size, I’m getting a laparotomy this summer to have it removed. Until then, I would like to keep getting exercise. I’m a soccer player and I’ve been training gently by myself. I would like to play a game with other players. I could run lightly so it wouldn’t be too strenuous, but there’s a pretty high risk of being knocked over and/or tripped. Could landing on my stomach cause my cyst to rupture?

Avatar m tn • 28 Jan – I am soccer player - I wear contact lenses (-8) - a ball hit my right eye - admitted to the hospital - stayed there 4 days • Suffered bleeding in the eye (Hyphema) - I could see light but was blurry • Retina is ok • 2 weeks bed rest • After 3 weeks the eye was fully recovered with a very slight blurred vision– I was cleared to only jog and do light training wearing my glasses • After four weeks I was cleared to play soccer again including heading the ball • I have been wearing my con
Avatar m tn I’m 49 years old and have been training since I was 10. From running to playing tennis, soccer , basketball etc. I also weightlift . When I was 25 I started doing sets of jump ropes that would last 45 minutes long and immediately after would lift weights. That’s when it happened first time. I got this heavy head. I can’t call it a headache it was more of a head pressure that would spread from left side of my head to the right .

Avatar m tn Player manager of a senior team. Used to take the training sessions as well. Always had to be in the thick of the action. Too much time without the ball and I might start to drift a bit. So why not try for a new position on the team. Midfield. Were most of the action takes place. Used to be odd. I couldn't leave the house at all. Except to play soccer matches. It was always worth the effort. Success came with it too. Maybe that made it all the more worth while.

Avatar f tn I'm an 18 year old female. 7 months ago I was hit in the forehead area with a soccer ball while attempting a 'header' during training. As I was standing a meter away from the girl who lightly underarmed the ball, the impact wasn't very hard. I did however feel slightly dizzy after the hit, but nothing to knock me on my feet or prevent me from continuing training.
Avatar m tn I have a nephew, with a congenital heart condition, whose dream it is to play high school football. He has played other sports before like soccer, baseball, and rollerblade hockey. Those have minimal contact. However, now he wants to move into this new arena and the doctor is worried about his being hit or even the full gear workout, including weight training. His parents are conflicted.
Avatar m tn I used to be very active – from 10 years old playing soccer and basketball, now I am (or rather was) playing soccer in a team. The last 4 years I was doing a lot of cycling and playing tennis too. However the doctor told me to try and stop these and only do some swimming and light walking. I am feeling that I cannot do much now and I want an opinion from an expert. I started going to gym , which has also a pool, thus I go one hour for weight training and one hour to the pool.
Avatar f tn Recently her club soccer team began utilizing exercise monitors to gauge each athletes exercise parameters (HR, %max HR, etc). After a few practices we noticed a trend where her HR would increase up above 200 bpm (100% max) during exertion, then slowly come back down to a reasonable rate when recovering. She states she is assymptomatic. Her resting HR is usually 60-70. This has occurred during practices, training runs, etc. We were alittle concerned about this so we started a basic work up.
Avatar n tn I am a coach for a u7 soccer team and I am concerned that one of my players overdresses for training. I have mentioned this to his parents but they seem unwilling to listen to my advice. Am I right in believing that overdressing causes heat related problems as the body cannot get rid of excessive heat during training. The player appears more lethargic during the session compared to his peers and I suggested to his parents they he may be getting too hot. Firstly am I right to be concerned?
Avatar m tn You have 16 weeks old fracture now in you require strengthening exercises to gain full range of motion and power before you can actually play or get involved in soccer training. The best is to consult a physiotherapist at this time. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar f tn Use the workouts that make use of flexibility and stretching, strength training and aerobics for the best results. Fitting in regular sessions of weightlifting, calisthenics or other strength activities can help increase muscle mass and keep the body toned and strong. Aerobics will help with burning calories, endurance and weight management, and stretching helps prevent injuries and prepare the body for more intense movements.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar f tn ve decided to get fit and take it serious again and the pains are back and worse than ever, after running in training or a match about 30 minutes after I get BAD stomach cramps and pains like acid is moving through my large intestine. It feels like I'm about to have explosive diarrhoea but it doesn't come until about 4-6 hours later or sometimes even the next morning and when it does it's loose but not watery.
