Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).

Avatar n tn In cerebral palsy, the adductor muscles sometimes tighten up and some have surgery to cut them. Swimming is a non-surgical option that helps flexibility.
214105 tn?1265935159 The doctors said that the bones are pretty well aligned so non-surgical treatment is definitely an option but that surgery would speed the recovery and ensure correct healing. In reading about it, it seems that non-surgical treatment results in about a 9degree deformity. My question is what are the ramifications of that deformity? Does your arm look bent? Do you lose flexibility or range of motion?
Avatar f tn It would be best to speak to a child psychiatrist who is knowledgable in the field. Cognitive behavioral therapy is one effective option in addition to medication.
968857 tn?1247600450 Yoga will help you build core strength and improve your flexibility (and can really make you sweat!), whereas plyometrics is a bit higher impact, and involves taking steps, doing lunges, and even jumping around. Both are a lot of fun and are available in exercise DVD's that you can find online. Take care!
Avatar n tn My cheekbone looks flat now and not as round and defined as it did as some of the tissue was removed. I want to add some definition to my cheekbone so it has the plumpness and symmetry to my other cheekbone as it once did. I have done some reseach and i have learned that i can can have a filler called Restylne Sub Q injected into the cheekbone area to add some definition and symmetry. Also there is another option where i can have a fat transfer into the cheekbone.
1609697 tn?1301069399 s just no way to live. Taking the paycut seems like the best option for you. Is there any option to transfer to a different location where maybe management would be hopefully more understanding. Check out this link from MSNBC that talks about this specific issue. Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
20911706 tn?1629515701 Purpose and Exercises Calisthenics is a form of strength training that uses body weight to improve endurance, flexibility, coordination, and strength. Calisthenics comes with a range of exercises with different intensity. This type of training suits beginners the best and can be easily modified for advanced workouts. With all the variety of trendy fitness forms such as Tabata, fly yoga, Zumba, Crossfit, and so on, calisthenics seems an old-school term that is long forgotten.
Avatar n tn I mean something that is effective in the long term. It's hard to perform my job or other daily tasks when my eyelids are so inflamed. I guess steroids are the only option until they develop something better. Is Tacrolimus a promising nonsteroidal option?
Avatar m tn Usually the main predictors of aortic dissection are family history, aortic size, and aortic flexibility. For someone of your aortic size, I would take it easy. Try the ARB approach with a max or ultra-max high dosage (as long as your doctor lets you) and see if that reduces aortic size and aortic flexibility (the "pulse pressure" is one way to estimate the flexibility - Google it). If so, then perhaps you can talk to your doctor about athletics.
Avatar f tn Hi. Well, you have only been dating two months. This is not a long time. I'll be honest. I think you are jumping the gun with these types of deep conversations. You and he need to relax and enjoy each other's company and not "THINK" so much. Just because you were friends does not mean you go from 0 to 10 when dating. I think that you need to express to him that you two do need to move slowly and get to know each other as romantic partners.
Avatar n tn The biological half-life of a substance is the time it takes for a substance (drug, radioactive nuclide, or other) to lose half of its pharmacologic, physiologic, or radiologic activity So yes, the dose you take today, will be reduced in half after about a week. However, the effectiveness of today's dose will not be realized for about 6 weeks. It is also a cumulative effect. An option instead of waiting 6 weeks to improve would be to skip a couple of doses to get the level down quicker.
Avatar f tn Stretching isn't the best way to improve flexibility—lifting weights through a full range of motion is, according to a recent study at the University of North Dakota. Pausing for 2 to 3 seconds at the "down" position of the lift (where you feel the stretch) without relaxing your muscles is even more effective.
Avatar f tn Switching to a low/no impact exercise such as swimming, elliptical or ski machine might be a good option, (swimming would probably be the best if available). Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I'm glad to hear that the baby is healthy. Are you going to keep the baby? If you don't feel ready or for any other reason, you can look into adoption. It's a great option to think about and look into, as it benefits everyone involved. Are you working right now? If you are not, then you need to look for a job asap to support yourself and your baby. You can't rely on your parents or the baby's dad to make it all work. Is the father still involved? Are you going to school?
627816 tn?1349238116 making full inclusion the only option does not resemble the abolition of slavery, but instead the imposition of slavery. Like slavery, full inclusion rejects the idea that people should be free to choose for themselves the options they desire, and compels them to accede to the wishes of others.
