7980557 tn?1395954094 Hello I quit dance when I was about nine and I recently started doing it again. I also started stretching to improve my flexibility. I've improved a lot and can now do the splits however I recently strained my right leg muscles, especially in the thigh. It's not getting any better and I am getting stiffer and less flexible as it is too painful to stretch. Is there any way I could stretch again soon and make the muscle loosen again?
Avatar f tn I know walking is a good exercise, and this might be an obvious answer to the question but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of exercises I could do to maintain my weight. Im paranoid if i gain too much weight my baby will be too big and cause difficulties during labor which terrifies me..Im wanting to avoid a c section so bad!
Avatar f tn Any cold pressed oil. It's called perineal massage & you have to do it after a hot shower. If your vagina is a clock (anus being 6 o clock) run your thumb while pulling slightly from 3 o clock (one leg) to 9 o clock (other leg). Dooo not go to 12. Don't know why, but that's what the midwife who ran my birth class told me. Lol so, coconut oil, olive oil work great. I felt a little sore after the first time I did mine. You have to do it consistently for it to be effective.
Avatar f tn What is a kegal and how do you do that? How do you do the pelvic tilts?
Avatar n tn I would differ, as whatever you're suffering from isn't something we can know. That fact osteoarthritis showed up on an MRI, for example, doesn't mean that's the reason you're feeling pain. It could be, but it could be muscular or other things as well. And as for exercises for this, I would get referred to physical therapy.
Avatar m tn The prognosis of such cases is good.Patients who undergo aggressive rehabilitation to restore muscle strength and flexibility do not have an abnormal gait. The possibility of limp seems to be unlikely.
Avatar n tn I've been trying to find one too. I have a yoga dvd that I was using before pregnancy but it has a lot of positions on the belly that besides being uncomfortable I'm not sure would be good to do while pregnant. I haven't found any at the stores near me though. You might check out fit pregnancy magazine or their website bc they have lots of exercises you can try.
Avatar m tn I'm a 27 year old male. I have returned to gymnastics after 3 years out and find that I get severe cramp in the arches of my feet. It seems to occur if I point my toes too hard and for long periods of time. My feet don't seem to be as flexible as they used to be as I used to have a much better toe point before. As I have to train in barefeet, I've also noticed that they can get quite cold sometimes. Can anyone help?
Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?

Avatar m tn Strangely enough ice seems to make it immediately worse. So my cardio has to stop if I am going to keep my job. I have good insurance but good doctors often seem to fall short of helping me with several problems. Ibam a 40 year old male. I have not smoked in 5 years. I seldom drink. I weigh 178 and am 5'9". I watch what I eat and avoid added sugar. I was lifting weights more before this job. I may try to see my orthopedic doctor and maybe get an MRI.
968857 tn?1247600450 I would love to try yoga to loose weight and get in shape but I am not able to do the proper moves and my balance is not exactly the best. I find myself starring at the screen more than doing the movements because I cannot get into the positions they are doing. Should I wait until I loose some weight and will this help with the balance issue?
Avatar m tn How long does it take for the tibia fracture to fully heal, and is there anything I can do to quicken the healing process on my own other than exercises and physical therapy? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Research has shown that stretching can inhibit your performance and doesn't reduce your risk of injury. One study performed at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill showed that subjects who performed dynamic warm-ups had higher performance in the vertical jump test than those who just did standard stretching.

Avatar f tn I had a partial knee replacement last May, I still have pain soreness at the implant site specifically and STIFFNESS! It is difficult to do any walking around without it swelling for 2-3 days sometime longer. I have a friend who is a physical therapist and said the key is following through with the knee exercises daily the first year and as needed weekly from then on but remember to ice pack the knee following exercise. Avatar n tn Perform yoga or stretches after each exercise session to improve your flexibility and reduce your risk of soreness and injuries. Stretching helps to elongate your muscles to give your legs a leaner appearance. No excess sodium and improve your diet to reduce water retention. Your knees and other areas appear larger when you carry excess water. Cut out processed meat, table salt, salty snack foods, canned foods and most frozen dinners.
Avatar n tn After no improvement I visited a physiotherapist that forced my arm to bend (joint mobilization) and gave me stretching exercises that I should do each day for 2 weeks. The first few days flexibility improved gradually, but then the bursitis came back. I had an X-ray exam but the doctor said that it only showed my old trauma and nothing new. Doctor noted: "Active ROM: slightly reduced extension and great reduction of flexion. Passive ROM: soft endfeel on both extension and flexion.

Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
