Avatar f tn My hubby recently took out 2 1/2 year old ice skating for the first time last week and she loved it. He had to drag her off the ice! I stayed on the bench and took a zillion pictures. My question is my mom wants to take me, my sister and our toddlers skating next week to watch the girls. My hubby will not be able to go. Do you think it is ok to skate while pregnant?
Avatar m tn I tried eliptical after two weeks off and at the end of the work week I was back to severe pain. I am working on strengthening my glutes and hip abductors. Strangely enough ice seems to make it immediately worse. So my cardio has to stop if I am going to keep my job. I have good insurance but good doctors often seem to fall short of helping me with several problems. Ibam a 40 year old male. I have not smoked in 5 years. I seldom drink. I weigh 178 and am 5'9".
Avatar f tn Wow, cold, but wonderful walk wy my slightly older than me lady friends today.:) It was beautifully sunny, and not much wind. We walked along the Rideau Canal, the worlds longest 'natural' ice rink. I had no skates, and wouldn't trust myself not to fall flat on my backside, so, I opted for alongside, on the walkway, with most of the others. The ice sculpts at Winterlude were wonderful.

I've improved a lot and can now do the splits however I recently strained my right leg muscles, especially in the thigh. It's not getting any better and I am getting stiffer and less flexible as it is too painful to stretch. Is there any way I could stretch again soon and make the muscle loosen again?

Avatar f tn I have a friend who is a physical therapist and said the key is following through with the knee exercises daily the first year and as needed weekly from then on but remember to ice pack the knee following exercise. I am still unable to work at a job that requires walking or standing. I was a real estate agent and had to quit after 11 years. I am worried that is may have come loose.

11478709 tn?1526751275 Recently I started to ice skate once a week and after the session like 6, 8 hours after, I notice little uncomfortable feeling and when I measure my blood pressure on device it shows 106/77 or 104/78 pulse 86. Should I carry on my ice skating (which I never done before) or should I be worried with blood pressure dropping like this even once a week and can this lead to a stroke? I have this BBC presenter in mind who had a stroke on the rowing machine.

Avatar n tn s a stability or strength issue in that wrist). My main question is what kind of exercises should I do to fix this pain? Would it be doing reps of putting the wrist in flexion with resistance or extension with resistance? Or both perhaps? I also noticed ulnar deviation is weak on that wrist.. could that be linked to pain in push ups or is that unlikely? Thanks for any advice!
Avatar f tn I recently rented ice skates at a public ice skating rink. When I returned the skates after skating I realized that the plastic inside of the skate had rubbed against my leg and had caused a skin peel, with raw skin exposed that was painful to the touch but did not bleed. My concern is, if someone before me who had hiv had used the skates and also had a skin peel due to the plastic and possibly bled, would I be exposed to their bodily fluids through my skin peel?
4234155 tn?1352858962 I actually got out of the house with a friend I was a little lightheaded but we took her kids ice skating, I even laced up my skates and did laps for about 20 minutes...it felt so good. I am now home awaiting the arrival of my children, cannot wait to see their smiling faces.

20825786 tn?1525128821 I'm taking 12.5 mg Coreg 2xs a day after someone with a cold stethoscope found what appears to be a 4.3 ascending aortic aneurysm developing, I'm still playing ice hockey 2-3 times a week....and although my docs have said "Go skate your heart out and stop freaking my boy"...I'm STILL a bit unnerved about skating my butt off during shift after shift...and having my heart beating no faster than if I was reading a very dull book. Is my concern warranted?

It's only later on in pregnancy that you might want to avoid activities where you might fall, but nothing to worry about there. Your girls night out? Do you know how many women drink or even worse before knowing they are pregnant? If it caused a big problem 1/2 our population would be suffering fetal alcohol syndrome. Don't give it a second thought. And the medication? Talk to your OB.

Ive been to the cardiologist and he said everything is fine and i shouldnt worry. I just dont wont my heart to do anything funny. Can anyone help!!!

It was just a dull pain for the first 2 days but afterward I feel a deep , "cloudly" pain when I sit on a certain position . Im paranoid if i gain too much weight my baby will be too big and cause difficulties during labor which terrifies me..Im wanting to avoid a c section so bad!

The pain seemed to go away but recently has return like someone is stabbing my knee in 2 places with a needle. Could I possibly have chipped a bone and that is what I am feeling now?

539750 tn?1226521677 HI Kim...if it could be from an injury....could it be from a fall while ice skating?...it could be from many falls and an old fall.... Odd that they were not able to detect this sooner ?may I ask what they suggest to ease swelling and pain?
