Avatar f tn i had my doctors appointment today the doc afformed me i was 6wks 3days today at the time of my first ultra sound i was approx 5wk 5days no heartbeat only yolk sak and development begfining so the doc said this was normal and heartbeats are usually detected in wk six or even wk seven the nurse tried to say there may only ever be a yolk sac and no bub but the doc and the lady who performed the ultrasound said no heartbeat or fetal pole can be normal at the early stage of five wks now im confused
Avatar f tn I do lots of reading when I'm bored..and I came across this. It's just something to keep in mind when you go in..so you'll know what to pay attention to. Week 6 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 4 weeks) 5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually a very good time to detect either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo.
Avatar n tn Usually the 5th week you will see the gestational sac but maybe no fetal pole. By week 6-7 you should see the fetal pole and if you're lucky a heartbeat. By week 8 you should get a heartbeat. So if you are only 5 weeks it sounds like your development is very good seeing both a fetal pole and hb. Did he mention what the heartrate was?? I am not sure what the "likely" fetal pole means because if there is a heartbeat then there is definitely a fetal pole there!!
Avatar m tn Depending on the quality of the machines and if you are earlier than you think, it's very possible. Some people don't see a fetal pole or heartbeat until 7,8, or 9 weeks. I didn't see any of mine until I was 7 weeks and a few days along. Have they scheduled another appointment or done blood work to see if your levels are rising? Another ultrasound would show if there's fetal development and if the pregnancy is viable or not.
Avatar f tn I got a bfp on thursday with beta of 151. I went for my second beta today and it was 695. They scheduled an ultrasound next week and I should be 5 1/2 wks. Would my beta go up if there was not a fetal pole? Also, a little concerned that we won't be able to see a heartbeat.
Avatar f tn Thank you that helps alot
Avatar f tn in the afternoon she did the ultrasound again for the heartbeat which she saying that its very low n fetal development is slow as it show that its 5 weeks 6 days n she said its not possible that our measurement is wrong so for sure its going towards miscarriage n she said we have to monitor your body till there is a heartbeat as i have no spotting or bleeding yet.
458967 tn?1268486055 it's too early to see the heartbeat.. At least 6 weeks or so... Just relax and wait until the 20th... when i did my u/s close to 7 weeks.. the doctor rarely saw the heartbeat... I came back a week after then there is a heartbeat... don't think too much.. will harm the baby...whatever you feel (sad, happy, depress, scare) will harm the development of the baby.. so just think happy..
Avatar f tn Second ultrasound at 8w 6d showed gestational sac, yolk sac, and fetal pole measuring 5 1/2 weeks, but no heartbeat. I'm scheduled for a third ultrasound next wed, which would be 10weeks, and if there's no hb, it's over Is this possible - to be almost 3 weeks behind? My dates can't be that far off! Also, my doc did the 2 ultrasounds in the office, but gave me the option to have the 3rd at the hospital. Is there any benefit to that, vs having my doc do it?
Avatar f tn I did a search and found this regarding what an ultrasound would show at 5 weeks on *****************.org "Week 5 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 3 weeks) Development The gestational sac is often the first thing that most transvaginal ultrasounds can detect at about 5 weeks. This is seen before a recognizable embryo can be seen. Within this week, at about week 5 ½ to the beginning of the 6th week, a yolk sac can be seen inside the gestational sac.
Avatar n tn OH HOW EXCITING. IM GOING FOR MY 7 WEEK ULTRASOUND ON WEDNESDAY, DONT KNOW ABOUT THE HEARTBEAT! GOOD LUCK!
951328 tn?1246371912 The doctor said that the fetal pole and other parts may appear within next 3 weeks. But i am little bit worried. Note: I have a history of irregular periods. My Last period was on 26th march 2009. Will everything in this pregnancy be normal?
Avatar n tn im just wondering because usually the gestational sac can be seen at approx 5 weeks, the yolk sac appears at approx. 5.5-6 weeks, fetal pole is around the 5.5 -6.5 weeks and the heartbeat at 6.5-7 weeks... Im just wondering if you are counting from the fetal age(from conception) not the gestational age(from first day of last period) as there is about a 2 week difference... so im thinking that your gestational age would be 6 weeks 4 days which would make more sense for the timeline....
Avatar f tn Even though my baby was small with no heartbeat, my dr wants me to wait 1 week and have another scan. Because the baby had grown since the first scan the week before. Do I have a chance? No cramping. No more bleeding (except left over crinone gunk - looks like cottage cheese - normally white... is brown.). I have not had real morning sickness. Just some queasiness. Boobs hurt, heartburn and always tired.
Avatar f tn hi... i'm sorry about your miscarriage.. 5 weeks is a bit early to see the heartbeat it is usually in the 6th or the 7th week that it's detectable.. i too couldn't see the heartbeat in the first ultrasound..but saw it clearly in my second i was 6 weeks 5 days... don't worry.. just wait for the 7th week and then go for an ultrasound.. i hope u see it.. good luck.. god bless...
1318881 tn?1274460011 I went at 5w6d and all we saw was a sac at 6w1d there was a mini bean and a little heartbeat just fluttering away! At this early stage in pregnancy even a couple of days can make a HUGE difference when it comes to development! Congrats on your pregnancy!
1285651 tn?1319642429 my dr said late in the 5th week they can see a fetal pole but he wanted me to wait till the middle of my 6th week so we could see a heartbeat! so at 6 weeks 4 days I went back and not only saw a fetal pole but I got to see my babys heartbeat! good luck at ur dr appt and let us know how it went!!!
Avatar f tn Hi there Just went for another internal ultrasound today (friday) and they found a gestasional sac and yolk sac same as on Monday but still no fetal pole. They measured me at 6 weeks 1 day today.. They said the gest sac and yolk sac had grown accordingly since Monday so that was reassuring but told me to come back in a week to see if they can find fetal pole and hbeat. I've heard all sorts of variations on when they can find hbeat anything from 6 up to 8 weeks. What do you think?
Avatar f tn I can tell you, From experience that a baby's heart is fully developed by week 18, which is why doctors do fetal echos between 18-24 weeks, it's the soonest they can visualize the heart without the bones getting in the way or "shadowing" it, and also the latest for them to detect holes and other issues. There are many cases when a baby has a hole or two early on and as the baby grows and the heart continues to grow the holes close or get smaller on their own.
Avatar f tn I just had an 8 week vaginal ultrasound after IUI. Heartbeat was good (157) but embryo and gestational sac were small (7 days behind). Sac grew from week 6 but tech said there is a good chance pregnancy is not viable. What is typical for 8 weeks? I did not have ultrasound until week 12 with my first.
Avatar n tn 2010 my HCG read 2,000 and a sac and fetal pole together with fluttering fetal heartbeat (!) could be seen on a transvaginal ultrasound. I was pretty sure on that day I was 6 weeks and 1 day, however, the doctor said the size of the sac and the rate of the heartbeat was more like that of aprrox. 5 weeks. I am scheduled for another scan in 2 weeks but am, of course, worried waiting.
7620634 tn?1392949593 Im aldo measuring behind and they are monitoring fetal development.... (I'm 27 werks)... they don't do that for everybody..BUT since this time around I have lakes of blood in my placenta and high blood pressure (both are associated with low birth weight) they want to make sure my baby girl is growing at the rate she should be... ive measured 5 days smaller from the beginning...
Avatar f tn When I was exactly 6 weeks I saw the little round till and heard the heartbeat. At 7 weeks they should have seen an embryo. Especially since you saw development the prior week. The baby might have stopped growinhand absorbed into the uterine wall. I had that happen to me with our 4th pregnancy. I hope I'm wrong and they see something next time. Do you have a follow up?
Avatar f tn I went yesterday the baby measured 5 wks 6 days, it grew from last week, my hcg were really good 75,354, they heard a heartbeat that was 94, and they saw fetal pole BUT my sac was a little longer then it should be they said. it looks like it has a tale. The NP said she was cautiously postive. they asked me the last time i spotted which was thanksgiving day but again it was so light that if i was not paying attention i would of not noticed it when i wiped. Has anyone been told this?
