1431138 tn?1294566894 I always thought the genitals didn't start to develop in utero until week 14? Is that right?
Avatar f tn I was Watching a video on fetal development and I finally felt my baby actually kick as apposes to just movement. It was so strong it scared me Haha. Have felt a few more sense. I'm too happy!
Avatar n tn At this point, I would recommend that you be seen by a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in fetal cardiology and have a fetal echocardiogram. That way, you can be assured of the complete diagnosis. With this, not only is the VSD evaluated, but also any other potential associated defects can be found.
Avatar f tn I know right. they cry when they get startled from loud noises.
Avatar f tn Oh and my last baby, the one who almost never got the hiccups in utero....he's now almost 18 months and he's had the hiccups ONCE that I can remember since he was born. I think some babies/kids are just more prone to them than others.
Avatar n tn An echo is a regular ultrasound but it is specifically done on the heart. A fetal echo gets an in depth look at the baby's heart while in utero.
Avatar n tn A maternal fetal medicine doctor (Perinatologist) is a specialist for the baby in utero. He will be able to preform a more detailed ultrasound and assess your risk of Down syndrome. He may suggest having an Amnio which tests the fluid in the gestation sac instead of the blood test you had which are not as accurate as the Amnio. Hopefully you will have a better idea what to expect after seeing your Perinatologist.

Avatar f tn Sorry to hear this. I had never heard of this and did some research. This is what I found. Hope it helps and prayers for you && the little one :) CPCs can form within this structure and come from fluid trapped within this spongy layer of cells, much like a soap bubble or a blister. CPCs are often called "soft signs" or fetal ultrasound "markers" because some studies have found a weak association between CPCs and fetal chromosome abnormalities.
Avatar f tn ) by the way, they can easily fix the valve problem by putting one in, and placing a patch over the hole in the heart. Sometimes in these situations babies are born with a PDA which normally closes at full term, it's a vessel that goes between the heart and lungs and in babies with heart issues, sometimes it's benefitial to keep it open a little longer and it can be done with a stent type device I think.
Avatar n tn There was a recent article in the New York Times discussing a recent study that found that every single week in utero counts in terms of crucial development of the child's brain and organs... I completely understand why you would be more than ready to give birth, but try if you can to trust your body's wisdom. The baby will come when he is ready.
Avatar n tn There is a video of a baby crying in utero under ultra sound. You found see lip quivering as well.
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn Fetal anemia In even rarer cases, polyhydramnios can be a sign that the baby has severe anemia caused by an Rh blood incompatibility or an infection such as fifth disease. In both cases, the problem can be treated with a blood transfusion in utero. A baby with fifth disease may recover without treatment. What will happen if I'm diagnosed with polyhydramnios?
Avatar n tn 1) Ebstein’s anomaly with normal connections of the pumping chambers and arteries is a severe structural abnormality of the tricuspid valve. It is associated with leakage of the tricuspid valve that is often picked up in utero (before birth). If the valve leakage is severe, and the cardiac output of the baby is very low, then there is a high likelihood of the baby dying before term. However, this is not usually associated with constriction of the patent ductus arteriosus (PDA).
Avatar f tn I agree with Darkestlight. There are a lot of different options. One possibility is that these are "Choroid plexus cysts" which can be part of normal fetal brain development and often disappear spontaneously before 32 weeks gestation. Other types of cysts can be markers for other conditions. Does your daughter have a follow-up with a specialist?
1117115 tn?1258943049 I thought babies slept in utero I never knew babies move all day everyday? I'm 30 weeks pregnant also and I too noticed a decrease in the movement. I feel her move more often in the mornings and evenings.During the day I dont really feel her all the time.. Just a few times but she's asleep most of the time so I thought. Now reading your post shelby I'm concerned cuz by baby deoes not move all the time.. Only at certain times.
8793709 tn?1409594060 but I played music all the time to my babies. I just used regular ear buds. To this day, they love the music they listened to in utero.
293845 tn?1227997530 I recently saw a show on discovery health where researchers are conducting awesom studies to determine what exactly babies can hear in utero. Their finding that babies hear very little more than muffled sounds and of course, the mother's sounds are louder but still mostly muffled. They showed that sounds have to be a very high decibel to be picked up easily by the fetus. The good news is that this protects the baby from high noise levels and therefore stressors...
Avatar f tn one at 7 weeks to confirm pregnancy is in utero and one around 10 weeks to check development. I also did a screening for Downs at around 12 weeks and then the big u/s came at 18 weeks. I know that in many cases insurance only covers one u/s around 16-18 weeks. Did they check for heartbeat at your last check up? if the h/b was normal then everything is OK. Good luck!
