fetal-development

Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn I was 6 weeks 3 days. You probably wont see much, you might just want to wait til 6 weeks when you can see the heartbeat.
Avatar f tn I'm wondering if anyone has taken narcotics early in pregnancy.. Ie.Percocet/dilaudid. Long story stort, I was diagnosed with kidney stones septemper 18th and found out I was pregnant a week later. The baby was planned but the stones were not, haha. Anyway, after finding out I was pregnant I attempted to stop using the Percocets, but the kidney stone pain was too severe to be controlled by Tylenol Alone and I resorted back to taking Percocet for pain maganement.
935426 tn?1244779980 When fetal ultrasounds are performed, they do check for the orientation or “situs” of the organs on the chest and abdominal cavities. If the heart is “pointing in the wrong direction” it implies that it is not pointing towards the left side of the chest. It could be pointing straight towards the breastbone (called mesocardia) or into the right chest (called dextrocardia). It is extremely important to get the input of a pediatric cardiologist regarding the details of the fetal heart anatomy.
951328 tn?1246371912 The doctor said that the fetal pole and other parts may appear within next 3 weeks. But i am little bit worried. Note: I have a history of irregular periods. My Last period was on 26th march 2009. Will everything in this pregnancy be normal?
Avatar f tn Went to ER because i started bleeding heavy but no pain no cramping. ER doctor told me no fetal pole or fetal heartbeat were found, but they did see a yolk sac. Told me to check up with OB in 7-10 days. I'm terrified and crushed by his findings considering he showed no concern basically told me i was having miscarriage and send me on my way. If any one out there has gone thru this please let me know how everything has turned out. Praying for the best.
Avatar f tn The fact is that this discussion can go on forever. It hasn't been proven either way. Ultrasound is the gold standard of monitoring fetal development because we haven't seen any definite contraindications. But, like everything, we use it in moderation and as long as the benefit outweighs the risk.
Avatar n tn Has anybody had weekly ultrasounds due to pregnancy complications? I heard that they may effect brain development and I am worried.
Avatar f tn Week 5 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 3 weeks) Development The gestational sac is often the first thing that most transvaginal ultrasounds can detect at about 5 weeks. This is seen before a recognizable embryo can be seen. Within this week, at about week 5 ½ to the beginning of the 6th week, a yolk sac can be seen inside the gestational sac. The yolk sac will be the earliest source of nutrients for the developing fetus." So...a gestational sac is all you would expect to see at this stage.
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar m tn How common it is for early ultrasounds to be off in the first trimester, and how much? Doc wants to do one more checkup. My dates don't work so we've spent the last couple weeks trying to determine how far along I am. If I go by last bleed as LMP, I should be 7 and 2, but yesterday's ultrasound showed the sac measuring 5 and 4, and just a hint of fetal pole. No clear pole or hb yet. (Another post explains the whole story.
4536666 tn?1356397215 I am told after my recent scan that I am 6 weeks pregnant, a fetal pole and yolk sac showed at time but couldn't confirm a heartbeat, I'm going through IVf and my scan a week ago showed that I was 6 weeks different machines different places, can it be different reading each time?
Avatar f tn s September 4th, especially since that was an early scan and babies that early follow a very specific development pattern so early ultrasounds are pretty accurate. It would have to be around the Sept. 19th date. My due date is June 18th and I'm pretty sure I conceived either Sept. 25th or 27th.
Avatar f tn After your anatomy scan ultrasound were you able to get any more ultrasounds via your doctor? When I lived in Florida my doctor said I would have 3 total (initial, anatomy, and one near the end). We relocated to South Carolina and they are saying that I won't receive another one. I understand each doctor is different. Wouldn't you think that a new doctor would want to check on baby and see how big he or she may be?
Avatar f tn have had many ultrasounds and even a fetal MRI done since I last expressed my concerns on this site and am becoming less and less afflicted by worry. The results have been reassuring that her head is still growing (and not stoping or slowing in growth) yet is still on "the small side". It has actually had somewhat of a spurt in growth over the past 3 weeks and is now above the 10th percentile which I feel is a miracle due to my prayer.
Avatar f tn it was to confirm pregnancy..they were able to measure fetal heartbeat at 120 bpm,and my expected due date is Jan 31. My next appt isn't until July 21.
Avatar f tn I had my first u/s today at 5 weeks 5 days and the doctor found the sac but could not find the fetal pole so he believes this pregnancy is not viable. They did a blood test which I won't find the results until tomorrow and I am scheduled for another u/s next week but the doctor seems pretty sure that I will miscarry. I am obviously devasted and kind of hoping that he is wrong. It looks like I may have to leave this Jan 2012 babies forum.
Avatar f tn Yesterday I had a trans vaginal scan done at 7w1d. It showed a fetal pole and a sac measuring 6 weeks. But no heart beat!!!! I know when I conceived... I was charting, using ovulation predictor kits and my hubby was working double shifts so we just did the deed when I got the positive. I started with good hcg levels, but low progesterone. So I was put on Crinone suppositories. I had no bleeding until the day before my scan. I had an orgasm and bled bright red for a very short time.
