m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? Waiting for the ultrasound at 18 weeks may be long but you get to see your baby showing off there body like there heart chambers legs and arms and everything
i have booked a private scan at 10 weeks cos i seriously cant wait to find out if baby is okay. did anyone else worry in the early stages and get an early scan? i only had three weeks of mild nausea and food aversion now i feel fine at 10 weeks so i get worried something is wrong. my boobs are still tender but thats really it.
I'm 13 weeks and having a boy. I got a test done called Panorama at a private consultancy in Dublin, Ireland. They took bloods from me and a swab from my partner's cheek. They get the baby's DNA from my blood and test it for fetal abnormalities. It can be done from 9 weeks. Gender test is optional. The bloods are sent to California. There is another similar test called Harmony. The place I went is the Irish Maternal Fetal Fedaration.
They can tell you the gender, as long as baby cooperates. They're also looking at baby's overall development, making sure there is nothing noticeably wrong to cause concerns. Measuring femur, looking at facial development, heart development, head and abdominal measurements.
The baby only measured 1cm which from my research isnt as big as most are this far long however Im not panicking about that as Ive been told all fetal development is different. Ive also taken some comfort in how nauseated ive been which to me is a good sign, but not so fun! So as of now I am relaxed and excited!!
I quit smoking cigarettes and weed the minute I found out but I am concerned about fetal development since I found out after the fact. Thanks again for your insight.
