Puberty occurs in two separate stages, genital (penis and testicle) development and pubic hair development. We number each of these stages 1-5, 1 being child and 5 being adult. First u/s and blood test on 9/24. The u/s showed a sac and yolk but no fetal pole. HCG level 28,100. 2nd u/s on 10/6. The u/s showed a sac, yolk and now “a group of cells which is the baby” (they did not use the term “fetal pole” and I’m not sure if it is the same thing or not). But now there was no hb detected. A midwife told me there was a “100% chance” my HCG levels would come back lower. My HCG level came back at 48,100. At both appts baby termed “non viable”.
I had an ultrasound done at what I thought was 5 weeks 5 days and a yolk sac was seen but no fetal heart or fetal pole seen, and a repeat ultrasound to be done 10 days from then. Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.

There are a number of things that might cause these symptoms. The younger and healthier you are the more likely its just a change in your myopia or the development of astigmatism. Other things less likely that could cause this are cataracts, disease of the cornea or macula. Likely a new glasses RX will get rid of your symptoms.
If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
