Abortion critics have interpreted this to mean that abortion providers can’t make a profit on the sale of
fetal organs. They then point out that the charges suggested by Planned Parenthood are varied, are the subject of negotiation, and don’t seem to bear any relation to the organization’s costs. If those charges are more than necessary to cover PP’s costs, critics argue, the transactions are illegal.
I am not sure this is the correct reading of 42 U.S.C. Sec. 289g-2.
