Avatar n tn Choroid plexus cyst From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Choroid plexus cyst Classification and external resources ICD-10 G93.0 ICD-9 348.0 Choroid plexus cysts (CPCs) are cysts that occur within choroid plexus of the brain. The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain.
Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound done at what I thought was 5 weeks 5 days and a yolk sac was seen but no fetal heart or fetal pole seen, and a repeat ultrasound to be done 10 days from then. Is this normal to not see any fetal pole or heart at this stage? The ultrasound tech said she wouldnt put me at 5 weeks 5 days.
Avatar f tn It could mean anything. It could mean that it's not developing as it should according to your dates, or it could be more developed than your dates. They're being very vague and unfortunately there is not much else you or we can do or tell you until you get that ultrasound and see what's going on. I know how horrible the wait can be from my own experience but just try be positive.
Avatar f tn it is written on the ultrasound pictures. I supposed based on the fetal size, a statistic to check if they are growing normally.
1133565 tn?1261315212 i went for my first scan 2 days ago where i found out i was 6 weeks and 4 days. the docter never told me the rate of the heartbeat but did show me on the screen. 'my baby' measured 8mm at this stage is that normal? because ev everyone im speaking to says it is far too big and should be around 5mm.
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear this. I had never heard of this and did some research. This is what I found. Hope it helps and prayers for you && the little one :) CPCs can form within this structure and come from fluid trapped within this spongy layer of cells, much like a soap bubble or a blister. CPCs are often called "soft signs" or fetal ultrasound "markers" because some studies have found a weak association between CPCs and fetal chromosome abnormalities.
Avatar f tn i had my doctors appointment today the doc afformed me i was 6wks 3days today at the time of my first ultra sound i was approx 5wk 5days no heartbeat only yolk sak and development begfining so the doc said this was normal and heartbeats are usually detected in wk six or even wk seven the nurse tried to say there may only ever be a yolk sac and no bub but the doc and the lady who performed the ultrasound said no heartbeat or fetal pole can be normal at the early stage of five wks now im confused
Avatar n tn Ok, update...I found out that my HCG yesterday was over 12,000. It's increasing perfectly, but he really thinks he should see more development if it's that high. I go back on Monday for another u/s. He said we just may have mis-dated. Please let me know if you've gone through anything like this or have any words of wisdom! Thank you!!! Katie P.S. He said it's not molar (because he would've seen indications on the ultrasound.
14949743 tn?1440694796 From what I understand, these cysts could be part of normal fetal development and disappear before birth. Or they could be totally normal babies with the cysts too. There was ONE study done that showed a WEAK link to the cysts and downe syndrome so Doctors tell us about them so we are informed. I found that reading people's accounts of having perfectly healthy babies with more than one Cyst in their body at ultra sounds helped to dispell any fear.
Avatar f tn I had my 36 week check up yesterday. The dr did an ultrasound to check on the baby. Dr said baby boy looked wonderful, he also should me that thr baby was breathing.. We watched it for like 10 mintues. I didnt no that babies in the womb could "breath." would fluid get in there lungs?
Avatar f tn Week 6 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 4 weeks) 5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually a very good time to detect either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo. This pole structure actually has some curve to it with the embryo’s head at one end and what looks like a tail at the other end. The fetal pole now allows for crown to rump measurements (CRL) to be taken, so that pregnancy dating can be a bit more accurate.
Avatar m tn i went in and they said according to my last menstral cycle i was 7 wks... then i had an ultra sound and it showed me being only 5 wks and no sign on an emryo so i went back 10 days later and the ultra sound showed me being 6 wks 3 days and there was an embryo as well as my babys heartbeat! so... im guessing you are just right at 6 wks if you are even that far bc my dr said you wont see a heartbeat until atleast 6 wks 3 days and possibly not even that soon!!
Avatar m tn How common it is for early ultrasounds to be off in the first trimester, and how much? Doc wants to do one more checkup. My dates don't work so we've spent the last couple weeks trying to determine how far along I am. If I go by last bleed as LMP, I should be 7 and 2, but yesterday's ultrasound showed the sac measuring 5 and 4, and just a hint of fetal pole. No clear pole or hb yet. (Another post explains the whole story.
Avatar f tn It was too Lil to see on the regular ultrasound.
Avatar f tn On November 20th, I went in for an ultrasound to determine pregnancy. I was 7ish weeks from my last menstrual period. The ultrasound showed a gestational sac, a yolk but not much more. And no heartbeat. It measured around 5 weeks. So I was scheduled another ultrasound today I should be 8 to 9 weeks since lmp we seen a larger sac, about 8 weeks 3 days, a shadow of a yolk sac, but nothing else. No heartbeat. No signs of a fetus or fetal pole.
Avatar f tn in the afternoon she did the ultrasound again for the heartbeat which she saying that its very low n fetal development is slow as it show that its 5 weeks 6 days n she said its not possible that our measurement is wrong so for sure its going towards miscarriage n she said we have to monitor your body till there is a heartbeat as i have no spotting or bleeding yet.
Avatar f tn There is feeble faint heartbeat with fetal development, but doctors are concerned as the baby din show any progressive growth since last 1 week. Only the fetal pole has started showing more prominently. I am very worried. This is scary as i had a spontaneous abortion in only 5 weeks few months back. I wont be able to take a second blow. Request you to give some insight. I have been given a week to observe. I want it to happen.
Avatar f tn My daughter had this with my last pregnancy. They discovered it at 36 weeks. The fetal echo is to check the frequency of the PACs and yo make sure there isn't anything wrong with the heart anatomy itself. My daughter grew out of it at 4 months old.
Avatar f tn An ultrasound was performed on my "grandchild to be" today and the doctor mentioned that he saw cysts in the baby's brain. Has anyone heard of this before?
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar n tn 2010 my HCG read 200 but nothing could be seen on a transvaginal ultrasound. On 09.03.2010 my HCG read 2,000 and a sac and fetal pole together with fluttering fetal heartbeat (!) could be seen on a transvaginal ultrasound. I was pretty sure on that day I was 6 weeks and 1 day, however, the doctor said the size of the sac and the rate of the heartbeat was more like that of aprrox. 5 weeks. I am scheduled for another scan in 2 weeks but am, of course, worried waiting.
