When you are 5 weeks pregnant, your baby's heart is made up of two tiny channels called heart tubes and they're already hard at work, beating to their own drummer (it will be weeks before those beats become coordinated).

A babies heartbeat can be detected by ultrasound anywhere from 5 1/2 to 7 weeks. It can depend on the equipment, the skill of the tech and a host of other things. So it doesn't mean the fetal pole and heartbeat aren't there, just that they could not be detected.
Unfortunately the only thing you can really do now is wait. A follow up u/s should be done in about a week and that should give you your answers.

Doxycycline, like other tetracycline-class antibiotics, can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. The use of drugs of the tetracycline-class during tooth development (last half of pregnancy, infancy, and childhood up to the age of 8 years) may cause permanent discoloration of the teeth (yellow-gray-brown).
I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
in the afternoon she did the ultrasound again for the heartbeat which she saying that its very low n fetal development is slow as it show that its 5 weeks 6 days n she said its not possible that our measurement is wrong so for sure its going towards miscarriage n she said we have to monitor your body till there is a heartbeat as i have no spotting or bleeding yet.
m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
They do not have any long term studies to show the effects on fetal development. My current dr says the same thing, when pg stay clear of it as possible.
i went in and they said according to my last menstral cycle i was 7 wks... then i had an ultra sound and it showed me being only 5 wks and no sign on an emryo so i went back 10 days later and the ultra sound showed me being 6 wks 3 days and there was an embryo as well as my babys heartbeat! so... im guessing you are just right at 6 wks if you are even that far bc my dr said you wont see a heartbeat until atleast 6 wks 3 days and possibly not even that soon!!

The exact cause is really unknown although genetics and environmental causes could play a role and does often run in families. So, when your partner is pregnant, talk to their obstetrician so that they are aware. Prenatal care will be important as it always is but especially in this circumstance.
i have another ultrasound this coming tues and the doctor said there is a chance the baby will not be there anymore or the baby could have a strong heartbeat by then. the doctor also said that the sac is smaller then it should be with the size of the baby and that could become an issue also. im trying to stay positive but its been really hard. my husband has been trying really hard to keep me positive but he gets frustrated with me when i get worried and upset.

Everyone is different. I had a 5 day fresh transfer of just 1. I was convinced it didn't work based on cramps and feeling like AF was coming, but instead I got my BFP and my daughter is just about 12 weeks old now.
Truth is, with all of the medications and hormones we take as IVF patients, it's really impossible to discern possible pregnancy symptoms from the effects of the medications.
