Avatar m tn Could the cording be caused of the lymphatic system "drying out"(not being used, drained)? Would it be necessary to reconnect the Lymph system? Is this at all possible? By removing the Lymph nods for Biopsy dose this increase the chance of Cancer traveling further if the cancer recurs? Is there a way to replace lymph nods? Any suggestions for links Thanks This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/259250'>Fascial cording</a>.
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.
Avatar n tn The brain contains pockets or spaces called ventricles with a spongy layer of cells and blood vessels called the choroid plexus. This is in the middle of the fetal brain. The choroid plexus has the important function of producing a fluid called cerebrospinal fluid. The fluid produced by the cells of the choroid plexus fills the ventricles and then flows around the brain and the spinal cord to provide a cushion of fluid around these structures.
Avatar f tn range is is still not particularly large. The lymphatic system may just be a little sow kicking in. Whilst hard not to panic (i know) you may well find your baby is absolutely normal in every way and that by your next scan it has completely resolved. My baby had a very large reading. He was born with excess skin on the back of his neck - you cannot tell at all from the front. I had so so much testing along the way.
Avatar m tn That is the reason why the nuchal translucency is only usable to measure between 10 and 13 weeks, when the fetal lymphatic system is developing. After that the lymphatic system is working and can take care of the fluid...so it isn't surprising that your measurement went down, and probably next time you get an ultrasound, the fluid will be completely gone.
Avatar f tn Hi, Is your renal function normal? This would be reflected in blood urea and creatinine levels. Could you provide a few details about the complications you suffered? Pain and inflammation of the knee joint can be due to either injury or due to changes occuring at the knee joint due to certain systemic disorders. You will need to contact your doctor either in person or telephonically to discuss this development. You can take Advil for the pain if you do not have compromised renal function.
Avatar f tn Also, with arm pain, have you injured your arm? The vessels of the lymphatic system are very weak so any swelling can cause them to close off and fluid to back up.
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
Avatar f tn re full of folic acid (critical to fetal brain and nervous-system development) and vitamin B6 (which might help ease morning sickness). 3. Eggs: they deliver one of the best sourxes of protein, a key building block of baby's cells. 4. shrimp: these swimmers are a low-mercury source of healthy omega-3 fats, vital to your little one's brain and eye growth. 5. low-fat greek yogurt: you'll typically get more protein than regular yogurt and bone-building calcium.
Avatar f tn It is also imperative to keep your lymphatic system well running, as your body MUST process efficiently the waste from the die-off and chemical by-products , neurotoxins from LD along with all the other "normal" clean-up work! Proper breathing (visit the normal breathing website) is extremely important as it engages the Thoracic Duct - the largest lymph vessel- Physical activity stimulates the lymphatic system.
Avatar f tn m 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar n tn As a result, germs grow, our blood loses needed protein, the immune system falters, and we become defenseless against attacks by viruses, fungi, and bacterium. As a circulatory system, optimal flow must be maintained within the lymphatic system. Unlike the blood, whose circulation is driven by the pumping of the heart, the lymph does not have its own pump.
Avatar f tn I have battled tick borne illnesses, Lyme & Babesia, for 2 years until I felt well again. Since November of last year (when I stopped treatment and felt well) I've slowly declined back into poor health. I had testing done 2 weeks ago to check if the Lyme & Babs came back/never went away/other coinfections are involved, and will hear which ones came up positive tomorrow.
Avatar m tn The thymus is a lymphatic organ that plays a vital role in the development and maturation of the immune system during childhood. The thymus is sensitive to any kind of bodily stress, including systemic infection, neoplasms, surgery, and chemotherapy. It may atrophy, with such stress but then regrow to its original size. The thymus is disproportionately larger in infants but gradually becomes replaced by fat and involutes throughout maturation.
Avatar f tn I too have gained about a stone since hysterectomy in February & I've read that the swollen belly is due to fluids the lymph glands can't dispel. If it's fluids would diuretics help or is there something else we could take to help the lymphatic system work again? Or will this dispel on it's own?
Avatar m tn They do not have any long term studies to show the effects on fetal development. My current dr says the same thing, when pg stay clear of it as possible.
Avatar m tn Having ascites before edema is not the most common finding but it is possible, especially if the patient has a very good lymphatic draining system that reabsorb the accumulating fluid in the legs. The drainage from the abdominal cavity is different and depends more from the transhepatic pressures and venous drainage than from the lymphatic system, so it will persist more easily in those cases. Hope that this explanation helps.
