Common Questions and Answers about Fetal development images weeks by weeks

fetal-development

Avatar f tn The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life. When you are 5 weeks pregnant, your baby's heart is made up of two tiny channels called heart tubes and they're already hard at work, beating to their own drummer (it will be weeks before those beats become coordinated).
Avatar f tn s, she picked up a few missed heartbeats on the doppler and suggested that we do a fetal echo. In the fetal echo, the doctor thought she saw a 2.2 mm VSD initially but she was unable to reproduce the suspected hole in subsequent images though she tried doing the scan from various angles. In all other images, the hole wasn't visible at all. She picked up one missed beat in fetal echo but said the rhythm and heartbeat were regular. Heartbeat rate- 138 bpm.
8171562 tn?1408628833 22 weeks today, I'm excited we've made it to this point. Yet, I'm anxious for Thursday to come, we go back in for another ultrasound to check baby's heart. Please I ask that you send positive thoughts (or prayers, if you pray) our way. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Usually the 5th week you will see the gestational sac but maybe no fetal pole. By week 6-7 you should see the fetal pole and if you're lucky a heartbeat. By week 8 you should get a heartbeat. So if you are only 5 weeks it sounds like your development is very good seeing both a fetal pole and hb. Did he mention what the heartrate was?? I am not sure what the "likely" fetal pole means because if there is a heartbeat then there is definitely a fetal pole there!!
Avatar f tn Earlier gestational ages might have grainy, fuzzy images due to the small size of the heart. Later in gestation, the images may be shadowed by the ribs and other bones. That being said, at 17 weeks gestation it would not be impossible to get good images of the heart, especially if you were not very large at the time of imaging. We routinely inform patients that VSDs may not be appreciated on a fetal echo.
Avatar f tn they dont want the baby to be to big...and the ultrasound most people have to check the fetal size is a fetal size and development ultrasound to see how your baby is developing and so im pretty sure that if they were concerd about the development and baby not being fully developed they wouldnt change the due date.
Avatar f tn 20 mm Fetal heart rate: 164 bpm, the other one is 33,7 X 18,4 Fetal length: 16,7 mm Yolk Sac: 5,9 mm Fetal heart rate: 166 bpm Also embryon1 age is 10w3d but embryon 2 is 9w2d. I'm very concerned. Are those differences ok? The next ultrasound is in 10 days and the wait is killing me.
Avatar f tn i was asked to come back in two weeks for a viability scan and see if the yolk sac, fetal pole and heartbeat are all there. whew!!!! two weeks is too long for me to wait! i can hardly sleep now and i feel like the pregnancy symptoms are beginning to go away..i am getting paranoid i guess. HELP!
5492154 tn?1374801006 Im going by what everyone else goes by 40 weeks. Look it up. Of course not evey has there baby at 40 weeks some up to 4 weeks early. But im just going by the 40 weeks that we're suppose to be prego. And idk why you don't understand what im trying to say. Im not going by the calendar im going by 4 weeks 7 days a week which is 28. I was clear and even did the math.
Avatar f tn A babies heartbeat can be detected by ultrasound anywhere from 5 1/2 to 7 weeks. It can depend on the equipment, the skill of the tech and a host of other things. So it doesn't mean the fetal pole and heartbeat aren't there, just that they could not be detected. Unfortunately the only thing you can really do now is wait. A follow up u/s should be done in about a week and that should give you your answers.
Avatar f tn I'm trying to decide weather or not to get one at 28 weeks I'm only going to have a few I had one at 8 weeks and I'm not having another until 20 weeks so I kinda want to get the 3d any thoughts? I also want to buy a fetal heart monitor any one know where they have them in stores?

Avatar f tn im 40 weeks pregnant and my fetal has decreased in movements what should i do?is it normal?
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm 6 weeks pregnant at the moment and i thought everything was going find until i got a call from my hospital telling me they needed to schedule me for an earlier appointment because when reviewing my ultrasounds they saw a problem with the fetus development. does anyone have any idea what this can mean? I would really appreciate it if you can help.
Avatar f tn Sorry to hear this. I had never heard of this and did some research. This is what I found. Hope it helps and prayers for you && the little one :) CPCs can form within this structure and come from fluid trapped within this spongy layer of cells, much like a soap bubble or a blister. CPCs are often called "soft signs" or fetal ultrasound "markers" because some studies have found a weak association between CPCs and fetal chromosome abnormalities.
Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
1339501 tn?1285439404 My HCG had gone from 7500 to 16000 in 48 hours and from my LMP I should have been 7 weeks 6 days, but the u/s showed just a sac, no yolk sac, no fetal pole, no heartbeat. I was online constantly researching u/s's, fetal development, and what I should have seen (the fetal pole, the yolk sac). Almost everything I read online pointed towards miscarriage, or me having my dates wrong (which is impossible because the last time I had sex was the given conception date).
