femara

405855 tn?1217100767 the baseline us check if you do not have any cysts or not before they put u on med... my questions is that on cd3 itself i have 11mm follis...is that normal. Angie...did they give u a trigger on 27 and 28mm? were u on femara also?
320424 tn?1205500555 and got pregnant on that (+ follistim) and IUI , it was our third round of femara.. like everyone said, the nice thing about femara is the side effects are few and tolerable, it doens't thin your lining (which actually makes miscarriage rates lower with femara) and it actually improved my CM! i have endo and pcos as well, and it can actually be used as an endo suppressive drug, so thats why we choose it initially! good luck!
328927 tn?1227761840 I have mild PCOS and responded to Clomid with 1 follicle for two cycles (one bd, another iui). I skipped a month w/meds and O'd on my own. I just started Femara cd3-7 and Follistim 75 cd5-9, and haven't been able to find out any real live stories of BFP with this protocol, how many tries it took and number and size of follies normally seen. I was also wondering how many follicles is to few, and how many are too many where the RE could cancel a cycle in fear of OHSS?
Avatar f tn The 'ovulation pills" are clomid and femara. I way preferred femara, as it didnt have the same side effects as clomid and I am now pregnant after using it. Ask your doctor about these. Femara can make you ovulate earlier than usual (1 - 2 days earlier) Yes, they work. Both are taken for 5 days early in your cycle. I took mine from day 2 - 6. Others take them Day 3 - 7 or day 4 - 8, All depends on the doctor's protocol.
506810 tn?1210691647 Hey everyone. I'm Danielle i'm new here:) I was diagnosed with PCOS last January and started metformin and provera (to start my period). I just took clomid a couple weeks ago on days 3-7. My doctor said i had like 20 follicles but none were mature. Does anyone know a reason why they didn't mature? So now she took me off of metformin and I just started avandia. And wheneveer I start my next period she's gonna put me on Femara and an hcg shot.
Avatar f tn I am getting ready to turn 37 years of age and I have been trying to conceive for the past few years - went through testing (no issues on my end nor husbands, diagnosed with unexplained infertility). I've tried clomid, femara, gonal-f and menopur over the past year. My most recent IUI cycle was cancelled due to a poor response and estradiol levels dropped on menopur (150 iu); however, the next protocol is recommended to be menopur again - but at a higher dose of 300 iu (150 2x per day).
1370272 tn?1278353652 Not with Clomid, but I did Femara which is very similar to Clomid. In my second cycle of Femara we combinded it with Ovidrel, and I am now 5 weeks pregnant. Good luck!
374593 tn?1257879950 ve read that Lupron is used in 3 types of IVF protocols - the long protocol, the flare protocol, and the stop protocol. The flare protocol is what is used generally for poor responders.
Avatar f tn I started day 7 of my cycle, after 5 days of Femara beginning day 3. Today, day 9, I had my estrogen level drawn. I was supposed to hear from the MD about whether to adjust my Follistim dose today based on the level. I know my level was 123, but WHAT does that mean? Does anyone have any idea what it should be? Last cycle, we just did the Femara for 5 days, and had 2 follicles, but neither was mature enough to go any further.
Avatar f tn t live as long as regular sperm but they still last a good 12 hours or so in a good ewcm environment. Every docor and every clinic seems to have a little varience in their protocol with "when" to do insemination, but my guess is that you are in good shape:) Best of luck to you!

Avatar f tn I feel it too...infact I was on femara which should be out of my body by now. I got a trigger shot yesterday and IUI today...have been feeling bloated since the IUI...I can feel as it my organs have been filled with air and they are all pressuring the belly wall.
755553 tn?1233776838 I have recently (December) switched to a different doctor who is much more on top of things, my cycle started 01/05 and I did Femara on cd3-7, had an hsg, and then a base line and follicle study which revealed the Femara did nothing. He immediately started me on Bravelle, cd12-16 at .5amp, cd18-21 @ 1amp, cd22-24 @ 1.5amp, and cd25-30 @ 2.0. We saw small results starting at 1.5 amps, but significant results at 2.
788859 tn?1236734548 yes femara has a short half life, so its out of your system way before conception starts! a lot of people on here have used it to get pregnant.. i used it on many cycles combined with injectables.. it helps with ovulation and endometriosis suppression as well, and has less side effects for most people than clomid! GOOD LUCK!
Avatar f tn Hi jolly. I had 3 unsuccessful iuis that included clomid and injectables The fertility clinic told us consecutive will increase the chances bc it will regulate the body. I don't believe it and believe we should've stopped after our first unsuccessful iui cycle. Our protocol stayed the same and looking back I don't see how it could work. I have several friends that were successful after their first iui. After 3 iui, dr recommended ivf to hopefully find the problem.
415687 tn?1228746275 3 cd 17, and i didnt think that was great, i was taking femara and my dr hoped it would be higher, so she wants me to try femara again this month.
1160986 tn?1486819725 Hi everyone Saw the Dr today and were told that we do in fact have unexplained fertility. He recommended Femara x 5 days starting tonight. Then overlap with Gonal F injections starting day 6, then when follicles are mature, Ovidrel injection and IUI x 2. Then if pregnancy I'll take Progesterone for the first while (can't remember how long) Has anyone done something similar? Just curious. I'm 39 so he said this is the best way and We should try for 3 cycles. Hope this works!!
Avatar f tn I was Gonal F for the first time last cycle - it was combined with Femara, trigger shot (Ovidrel) and IUI. I'm still in the TWW, but should find out if it worked on Friday!!! Will let you know!
873190 tn?1304812975 At 39 y/o, I am going for my first IUI this week. I wanted to ask your feedback because, as usual, all the information is a little overwhelming. Of course, I'm wondering what the chances are of conceiving on the first try? I heard it's anywhere from 2%-20% depending on your situation, but I also heard there is about a 30% chance of m/c. Anyone have any insight? Also, is it true your chances of success increase with each consecutive IUI (up to a point, i.e. 4 or 5 tries)?
Avatar f tn A question for you Femara ladies - did you notice any changes in when you ovulated while on Femara? I am starting my first Femara cycle in two days (I am CD1 today, doing Femara CD3-7) and just wondering what to expect. I usually ovulate CD17-19. Does Femara make you O earlier, later, about the same? Thanks for any insight!
342133 tn?1227108677 She then suggested a different drug called Femara (Letrozole). Like Clomid, it also tricks your body into producing more estrogen to induce ovulation, but in a different way. There are a lot of good posts on here that give more detailed info on it. The one thing that scares everyone at first is the published risk of birth defects, but it is only if you take it while already pregnant.
Avatar f tn I had surgery, then radiation therapy for 7 weeks. Since then, I have tried two post-cancer hormonal drugs (Femara and Arimidex) and both have bad side effects - extreme bone and joint pain and now I have osteoporosis. I am now on Fosamax, ergocalciferol and calcium supplements. Now my oncologist wants me to take Tamoxifen, but a side effect of the drug is blood clots. I had a DVT in my right calf in 1989; it did not move from that location.
144100 tn?1283522567 First, there are case reports of endometriosis being treated successfully by aromatase inhibitors, which is the class of drug femara is from. Second, femara results in a thicker, better looking endometrium, than clomid. On the other hand, femara is more likely to result in one egg being released, rather than multiple. I don't know of any info regarding clomid making endometriosis coming back more quickly. Why have you been prescribed femara?
398038 tn?1247857003 We tried clomid for several cycles, then switched to femara. On the 2nd cycle of femara, it worked! I am 17 weeks pregnant. So I really think the monitoring was important in my case. Good luck!
1235159 tn?1323009319 I did find that the side effects of Femara were far less severe than the Clomid and, unlike Clomid, Femara does not affect your CM or thin out your uterine lining.
Avatar n tn I didnt get any response from any healthcare providers on my Tamoxifen/Femara question regarding weight gain and loss. Can anyone answer that question for me.
1160836 tn?1332330169 I have been taking Femara the last 3 month, I also take metformin and esterdiol since my lining does not get thick enough on it's own. I have not gotten pregnant yet, but femara has worked great for getting my follicels ready. I have 3-4 follicles each month. I have PCOS and DH's morphology is on the low side, so there could be many reasons why I'm not pregnant yet. Good luck!
