Also, I have read that Clomid can lead to endo coming back quicker. Is this true and is it also true of Femara? I am very worried that then endo will come back, and I would really like the Femara to work well!! Thank You!

I used Clomid for one cycle and it worked. Did you ovulate on Femara? Some women with PCOS have better luck with Femara than they had with Clomid.

So I am on Femara now and doctor also told me to use the OPKs, BBT seems to be a little inaccurate especially with alot of us lacking sleep. He said my most fertile days are as soon as I get the positive, and the day after- thats it. If I do not ovulate this cycle, come back and see him. So thats good news. Has anyone taken Femara? Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Has anyone used Femara or Clomid and a "boost" of injectables and gotten a BFP? I will be doing 5mg of Femara CD 4 - 8 and then 150IU's of Menopur CD 9 - 11. We'll go in on CD 12 to check the follies and then hopefully proceed with IUI. I am hoping for more than 1 follicle. With Clomid and Femara I usually only have one follicle. It is usually nice and big though. Any thoughts would be helpful - any! Thanks..

I have recently taken my first cycle of Femara to make me ovulate. I have PCOS and do not ovulate often. I am now on cycle day 19 and according to my BBT I have not ovulated. Is is a common thing to ovulate late on Femara? If so, how late is too late to hold out hope for ovulation?

Why do REs start with Clomid and not Femara? We all know that Clomid causes CM dryness and cysts.. then y do REs not start with Femara from the first time itself??? This Q has been bothering me since long.. Anyone knows???

I had 6 IUIs using clomid before and got pregnant but unfortunately I miscarry at 6 wks at most. So my doc suggested Femara on my CD 2 for five days just as Clomid. I was supposed to have an IUI on Tuesday. I had an E2 test yesterday counted 61.94 though I developed 5 eggs ,he said it's low and must have another tomorrow and see if it increases or else he would cancel the IUI . So does Femara causes a drop in the E2 level? Is this normal?it's my very first time to use Femara!

This is my first time on here so I hope this works. This is my first month doing the ovidrel and femara together so I don't know what to expect. I have done the femara alone and have also done the clomid, but the shot is all very new to me. I have another u/s tomorrow to make sure I can have the ovidrel. last month was my first month and femara. I had the same spotting, and my cycle was also 30 days. (usually mine is 35 though, so 30 was better for me). . . the spotting bothered me too, I kept hoping that it was implantation bleeding. But no, finally af came full force. This is my second month on it. I o'd the same day this day as last month, so expect the cycle will be 30 days again. Good luck with your IUI!!

I am currently taking a break from TTC with follistim bc I have had cycts on my ovaries the last two months. I have had an off and on headache, neck pain, and nausea for three days. I am curious if this is a side effect of coming off of the meds or if it is something else.

I hate to tell you but I am on Arimidex and I have joint pain in my hips and knees and my fingers are stiff and swollen -- It started two weeks after I started the Arimidex --- It may be gentler than Femara but for me it hasn't been a walk in the part either -- Sorry your mom is feeling so poorly -- I hope they help her quickly -- maybe she should be taking Calcium with Vitamin D in the meantime

I was on femara and the pain was so bad. I thought my back and knees hurt from exercise the pain was from femara. all my bones hurt. when i went off it within 10 days the pain was gone. I am now on aromatex although not purfect the pain is minimal and if i swim alot it helps with the pain. there are other drugs that do the same.

Hi there-I was on clomid 2 months with IUI and trigger-only had 2 follicles both times. I was on Femara this month, trigger and IUI and I had 6 follicles. I also took it on 4-8. So, for me, femara worked much better. I didn't do Menopur. I am in my 2ww and will find out on Tuesday. I wish you all the best!

My doctor put me on viread 1/15 and experience severe acid reflux, heartburn, nausea, dizziness, back pain and cant eat or sleep. on 1/18 i stop viread and called doctor and agreed for me to be off viread for a few days to see if the symptom i experienced are side effects from viread. I'm not feeling any better and decided to go see my primary doctor. He ran a bunch of tests and all came back normal except my liver 10 time elevated.

I have started on my IVF meds. Only one more day on femara, and started the follistim at 225iu last night. It burns after injecting. I have had 5 pound weight gain since starting Femara. I think it is fluid retention. My stomach is bloated also. I am also on doxycycline and dexamethosone. Is the fluid retention normal, esp the abdominal bloating?

m on my second cycle with Femara and Ovidrel, and we actually just did IUI today. What is it that you are so worried about specifically? I haven't had any bad side effects so far from either drug, although I have to admit I had a tough time giving myself the needle. I ended out having hubby do it for me. As for how long it takes to get your bfp, it really differs from person to person. Some people will get lucky on the first round and other have to keep moving up the ladder.

I am taking Femara on days 3-7 and this past cycle I took mucinex. After Flow hasn't shown her face yet and I'm praying she won't.

So i just started femara yesterday (cd3) and AF is now totally gone it seems! is that normal? sometimes i'll get a little break for night on day three, but it alllways returns the next morning and now its nowhere to be found! Not sure if this is more likely from my recent lap (3 weeks ago) or from the femara? anyone have any ideas? Do you think that it will affect my uterine lining this month if AF was only around for a mild 2.5 days? Thanks!
