Tamoxifen was not even considered for me because there is an indication for blood clots while on it. Femara does not have that indication, however, the clots kept coming while I was on it. It also caused severe bone pain. A little more than a year ago, I switched to Aromasin, and things have dramatically improved. If her cancer is estrogen receptor positive as well as being slow growing, then the hormone therapies like Femara, Aromasin, Arimidex, etc.

I was on femara and the pain was so bad. I thought my back and knees hurt from exercise the pain was from femara. all my bones hurt. when i went off it within 10 days the pain was gone. I am now on aromatex although not purfect the pain is minimal and if i swim alot it helps with the pain. there are other drugs that do the same.

Three times i got a period containing big clots of blood (big lumps of jelly).Once i had all the pregnancy symptoms but when i took HPT it came -ve.After few days i had a period full of big clots.My doc gave me DUPHASTON but it didnt work. Again i had big lumps in my period.i went to another doc n she told me that i had some sort of infection and prescribed tablets for me and my husbands. Can u tell me what infection is that?

I was on Femara for a while last fall, and again in April. Both times, I ended up with blood clots. Never has been proven it was caused by Femara, but better safe than sorry. Because of my risk for clots, Tamoxifen would not be a choice for me. I have only been on Aromasin for about two weeks, so I can't really give you an accurate evaluation of it just yet.

-( So, now - this laporascopy is my only chance. The only problem is that I have blood clots and I migh have potential complications - but this is something I am aware of it...and I am put on the blood-thinning medications. So even if I got pregnant I have to stay on this medication - so I can avoid the risk.

I had 6 IUIs using clomid before and got pregnant but unfortunately I miscarry at 6 wks at most. So my doc suggested Femara on my CD 2 for five days just as Clomid. I was supposed to have an IUI on Tuesday. I had an E2 test yesterday counted 61.94 though I developed 5 eggs ,he said it's low and must have another tomorrow and see if it increases or else he would cancel the IUI . So does Femara causes a drop in the E2 level? Is this normal?it's my very first time to use Femara!

Greetings: I have hepatitis C and am taking 2.5 Femara. My oncologist and my Hep C doc are at odds about the amount i should take. My Hep C doc thinks i should only be taking 1/2 that amount. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I recently had a liver biopsy which showed no scarring and have had Hep C for almost 30 years. I am worried that the Femara may be doing untold damage to my liver. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

When I take chemo, my CA125 gets higher. So, I hope the Femara works for you. If your cancer is like mine, you are lucky, and Femara will help. I live a normal life until the med wears off, about every two years. I have had no side effects that I am aware of.

I hate to tell you but I am on Arimidex and I have joint pain in my hips and knees and my fingers are stiff and swollen -- It started two weeks after I started the Arimidex --- It may be gentler than Femara but for me it hasn't been a walk in the part either -- Sorry your mom is feeling so poorly -- I hope they help her quickly -- maybe she should be taking Calcium with Vitamin D in the meantime

of course I am not an expert but I really do think it is very worth thinking on your part about not taking it, because tamoxifen can really suck, I mean really, although with me not nearly as horrible as Arimidex and Femara which I was just plain unable to tolerate. i would be scared about the blood clots too, especially since you already had that experience. i would go with my gynecologist and who would not allow his wife to take it; now that statement really means a lot don't you think?

Recently I did a blood test and was told that I have many small clots and my blood are in a chains. What causes this clot and chains. Are there any medicine that I can take to help clear it?

The doctor prescribed me Femara from the 3rd day of my cycle for 5 days and has asked me to take an Ovidrel shot. They are monitoring me on Blood work and Ultrasound to make sure I ovulate and then have the Inter on time. Please help I am very anxious and I have started thinking more about this. Well i called today to get more answers as to what was causing the bleeding, and apparently i have blood clots forming in the layers of the placenta where its suppose to attach to the uterus....but the clots should be dissolving on their own. Currently on light bed rest and no sex. Has anyone experienced this before its called Subchorionic hematoma...

Always better to play it safe and see what they say. He or she can better determine the cause. Blood clots can be very serious. I have a clotting disorder and am on daily lovenox shots throughout my pregnancy as a preventive measure.

My mom has had a headache for 2 months straight now and was in the hospital for a while and they found out that she has a blood clot in her head in the transverse and sigmoid sinuses. It is the length of the middle of her mouth all the way back to her neck. It is still there and she is still having very bad headaches. She is on Coumadin and pain medicine. Good day, I have been passing large(and small) blood clots for the past several months. I went to my gyn and he found that I have polyps. Understanding that, I am still passing clots intermittently and it is detrimental to my sex life. Although my husband doesn't say anything, it's like playing russian roulette. You just never know when the clots will appear, could be before, during or after sex. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. Could this be related to endometriosis? How can this be resolved?
