gleevec

Avatar f tn html#s-34084-4 From that document, hyponatremia seems to occur in less than 1% of patients on Gleevec. It also might possibly be from the blood disorder itself. Are the doctors at the A&E or the GP's surgery saying it's not related? That would be odd. Here is a 2010 paper: https://www.nature.
Avatar m tn pdf i read that in study 111 the svr rates for people with viral loads greater then 800000 are 79% - not bad. 87% of study participants than achieved sir had viral loads less than 800,000. i don't know it the difference is significant. i imagine other variables are much more important - diabetes, IL28 degree of fibrosis etc. willing - thank you for your continuing advice to all. you are one tough dude to keep doing physical work with hg at 11.
Avatar n tn 3 months is set by the mfg and the FDA. A 3 month test is conclusive.
Avatar m tn The result is given as a specific score in kilopascals (KPa) which is the median score of at least 10 readings. In viral hepatitis a score of less than 7 means no or insignificant liver fibrosis; a score of more than 12.5 KPa is severe fibrosis or cirrhosis and the results between this suggest moderate fibrosis. http://svhgastro.com/fibroscanProcedure.
Avatar m tn Hi, I don't know the answer -- but since both CML and Gleevec toxicity produce anemia because of marrow suppression, maybe it's not possible to tell the difference. E.g., both would show a low reticulocyte count. This full text paper on anemia from Gleevec https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ajh.23879 shows that other signs such as red blood cell size can vary, so that doesn't seem to help. Sorry.
Avatar m tn yap.. but as per cdc guideline and fda. so fda approves those rapid duo test on 3 months to be conclusive? but is useless to test duo in 3 months as per i understand? do you know if fda aprroves this test by 3 months or by 4 weeks? do you agree w/ our expert doctors that there is no chance it will miss out an infection? and the time when they make the guidelines duo test is not yet in the market.
Avatar m tn Energex Systems' HemoModulation(TM) therapy is an extracorporeal treatment that involves exposing a small amount of an infected subject's blood (3-4%) to a precise amount of ultra-violet light (UV), for a precise amount of time. During the process, any pathogen in the blood that is directly exposed to the UV energy is inactivated. After exposure, the blood carrying the inactive pathogen is returned to the patient through the same portal it was drawn from.
Avatar n tn I have been on Gleevec since Oct. of 2000. I was in one of the original clinical trials for it, and I am still on it to this day. I am doing very well with it, and you can ask me any questions you might have.
Avatar m tn My blood pressure which has remained under control for several years with atenolol has been running 145/105 and higher for the past three to four months. I have a feeling of fullness in my stomach, and I have sporatic episodes of mild coughing, this occurs maybe once a week. I have episodes of rapid heart rate and pvc's. My BCRABL is stable at 104 per 100,000. I realize I am no longer in remission and they will reintroduce the Gleevec when my counts reach 500.
Avatar f tn t want to be a pain and take up much time on this user forum but may I ask why everyone is so confident in 3 months. There are up to date sites that say very rare but can take 6 months and others which say 97 percent at 3 months. How is it so concrete that people are so confident, I know the doctors on this forum say rare to take longer than 8 weeks but he's just one opinion.. bottom line is I know it sounds stupid but can someone give me legit facts as to why it really is 3 and not 6.
