Common Questions and Answers about Exelon nuclear plant

Avatar f tn s crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in a fresh reminder of the risks faced by workers battling to contain the worst nuclear accident since Chernobyl. Plant operator Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) reported on Monday that radiation exceeding 10 sieverts (10,000 millisieverts) per hour was found at the bottom of a ventilation stack standing between two reactors.
Avatar m tn Energy Information Administration data, the cost of building and operating a new solar thermal power plant over its lifetime is greater than generating natural gas, coal or nuclear power. It costs a conventional coal plant $100, on average, to produce a megawatt-hour of power, but that figure is $261 for solar thermal power, according to 2011 estimates. The figures do not account for incentives such as state or federal tax credits that can affect the cost.
Avatar f tn Nuclear power plant technologies are associated with external exposure to alpha (plutonium, americium) and gamma radiation (during normal operation and fuel rod change) and internal exposure to alpha, beta (I-131) and gamma emitting chemical elements released during emergency events such as pipe leak, reactor relief valve operations and partial core meltdowns with breach of containment vessels. The internal exposure is far more dangerous than external.
Avatar n tn Exelon patch is on back order from the manufacturer until October 24. What alternatives are there?
Avatar f tn Once upon a time I lived across the Arkansas River from a nuclear power plant at Dardanelle, AR (our adversaries know where they're at). The locals, as far as I could tell, had no say in anything to do with the plant. Some lifelong residents were employed there but, only in lower paying, non professional positions. The river valley is surrounded by the Ozark & Ouachita mts making the geography beautiful. But, it is unstable with underground springs, fault lines, etc.
Avatar f tn t calming her down any, and she did not refil the prescription. 2 months later she had another bad dream and the doctor was notified. He then prescribed exelon. My question: If she does not have Alzheimer's disease, why would he prescribe either of these medicines for her? If this is dimentia, aren't there other drugs out there for that or even drugs that have a claming effect? From what I have read about excelon, I am not sure if it is compatible with her heart medication.
Avatar f tn Two Nuclear Power Plants in the plan for the future. To help us create jobs, go green etc, etc. The last power plant constructed was 30 years ago. So, is this a good idea? bad Idea? What say you?
163305 tn?1333668571 30pm, including report back from the March 11th all Japanese consulates action and Peace Walk against Nukes between Vandenberg Air Force Base to Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant. Details to be announced at http://nonukesaction.wordpress.com/ https://nonukesaction.wordpress.
Avatar f tn gt1=43001 Government reports released this month said the damage and leakage at the plant were worse than previously thought, with some of the nuclear fuel in three reactors likely having melted through the main cores and inner containment vessels. They said the radiation that leaked into the air amounted to about one-sixth of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986 — double previous estimates.
Avatar n tn My husband has been prescibed the the 9.5 exelon patch but we still have a supply of the 4.6 patches. With them being so expensive can I use two of the 4.6 patches at the same time until we run out?
Avatar f tn Drs suspect they may be caused because I grew up near a nuclear energy plant in Hanford WA.
Avatar f tn I work in a nuclear plant, and the amount of radiation I receive is much more than a microwave could ever give out, and it still isn't enough to harm my baby.
Avatar m tn can i combine 225mg. of effexor xr with exelon or dexamphetamine to help my sedated or lethargic condition?
Avatar f tn I think if I was in your shoes, I would first maybe wonder if 'both' tests are accurate and have given true readings to the best of their ability. The perfusion (nuclear) scan has revealed reversible ischaemia which means blood flow to an area of heart muscle is restricted. The angiogram shows that your major coronary arteries are clear.
1417802 tn?1282173063 If you are perscibed the medicine by a doctor than you just need to show the lab that's testing you that it's perscibed. But if you have an important job at the plant than they may not want you on the meds. It takes about three days to be out of your system. I also want to say hi neighbor. I live in vista which is by Carlsbad and drive by the power plant a lot!
Avatar n tn She has since tested negative for H Pylori, and has been taken off Razadyne(24 mg ) for memory problems, put on Exelon (6mg patch), then taken off it after two weeks and more nausea. She has been off the Exelon patch for 72 hours, and still experiences nausea when she moves about. Still puzzling and frustrating. doctors are stumped (still) and I am feeling worthless because I cannot help her kick the nausea or find the cause. Really looking for help here. Any will be gratefully accepted.
Avatar m tn The brain in a bipolar person is like a nuclear reactor, one thought triggers another thought simiilar to a chain reaction. If this brain/reactor isn't controled it will have a meltdown. That is where the medications come in or reactor rods for the power plant. The more the rods are shoved in, the quieter the reactor becomes which is similar to say lithium, the more you take the more subdued the person will become.
377493 tn?1356502149 Starosta said the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant is likely responsible for the discovery, but insisted there is no immediate danger to the public. Following the Chernobyl incident in 1986, levels of iodine-131 were four times higher than what scientists have detected in the rainwater in recent weeks, he said. Trace amounts of radioactive iodine have also been detected in Ontario and New Brunswick. All are suspected to be from Japan's Fukushima nuclear plant.
Avatar f tn sorry i was exposed to I-131 in richland washington my father was in the army and a guard at a nucular facility plant the same plant they made the bomb for japan. i get letters from the goverment periodicly telling me if people are getting cancer and such from the exposure. three times a year in two years your thyroids are whacking out gets old. I talk slower i think slower i get irratable easy short term memory loss, dry skin, very thirsty, very tired.
257552 tn?1404602554 ve seen two cardiologists (one wanted to redo my stress-echo test from mid December 2013 with a nuclear stress possibly followed by a cath procedure, all based on an inverted T-Wave I've had all of my life), the cardiologist that did the Stress Echo (my primary cardiologist) in December insists everything is OK when viewing the E.R. reports (I've been there twice) and the Holter monitor results. I've seen one E.P.
