Avatar f tn My side effect of taking the other remedy was weight gain. I gained 9 kg and now my weight is stuck at one point and is not decreasing. Does anyone have a similar problem?
2002523 tn?1327612787 06 mg of ethinyl estradiol) caused something called Leukorrhea. In theory, it should balance back out as my body acclimates to what will be my regular pill. My doc changed my script to Briellyn (I start the pack today) so that only the progesterone portion will be more than doubled. I've been back to single dose of Introvale for five days and my cycle has broken through to close to normal flow.
Avatar f tn Three months ago I was switched by my OBGYN to the oral contraceptive pill Loestrin ( a combination of norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol). I asked my doctor to switch me from my old 'tried & true" BC pill Azurette (Ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) because of my suspicion that it, Azurette might be making my Chronic Migraine Headache condition worse.
136956 tn?1688675680 After my surgery i was on Lupron for 3 months but had to come off due to the side effects. I went right back on the marvelon as directed by my doctor but I am having some problems. Very painful breast, stringy discharge, acne and I feel like I am ovulating. Should I be on a different pill or is the side effects from the Lupron still? I also started to have sex again and i felt a very sharp pain on the left hand side inside my vagina like it hit something.
Avatar n tn I'm currently on birth control pills (Ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) and i'm overweight so i'm planning on taking Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen. Will Hydroxycut affect the effectiveness of my bcp?
Avatar f tn Hello, I have been on treatment for PCOS for a year and a half now with Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol birth control pills. My OB/GYN asked for a blood test in order to see how my hormones are doing. While I am content that my testosterone levels are within normal range (it was very high at the moment of diagnosis and I was suffering from many uncomfortable effects) my prolactin levels are 38.25. I understand that this is high but, is it very high? should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Acne treatment does consist of Metrogyl as part of treatment, but it should not be prolonged. Metrogyl has got its own side effects. You can use topical retinoic cream and regularly wash your face with good face wash. I think this should help. Keep me posted. Bye.
Avatar m tn //www.webmd.com/drugs/2/drug-21091-656/drospirenone-ethinyl-estradiol-oral/ethinyl-estradiol-drospirenone-24-4-oral/details Please do not experiment with birth control. The chances of pregnancy from this event remain extremely low, for all of the reasons I mentioned in my first post. There is not a lot I can add to that, nor can anyone give you hard numbers.
Avatar n tn I'm on CD 88. Took Provera and did not have bleeding or spotting within 10 days after. Did blood work and it showed FSH: 6, LH: 1, TSH: 2.54. I did temping and OPKs and I'm pretty sure I did not ovulate. Before that I was on BCP (0.035 ethinyl estradiol & 0.25 norgestimate) and had very regular periods. What next? Clomid to stimulate ovulation? Clomid followed by estrogen? BCP to reset the cycle?

922048 tn?1387942584 I found a tiny little mention on Wikipedia that women with POF were able to have their high FSH suppressed by treatment w/ethinyl estradiol and then were successfully stimulated with gonadatropins and ended up having LIVE BIRTHS! So I found the reference to the article and pulled it up from PubMed. (the NIH website with articles published in major med journals) Not only did I find the original article referenced on Wikipedia, I found MANY others!
Avatar f tn Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) and my OB/GYN wants to see how my hormones are doing. The hormones he wants to check are prolactin, cortisol and testosterone and my GP has also ordered estradiol as she suspects that checking cortison will not be possible (it has to be done in a hospital and this is unavailable atm due to COVID-19). I will have a blood test next Tuesday, coincidentally during my placebo week (and probably my first day of period).
Avatar n tn The pill in question is Maxim (ethinyl estradiol 0.03mg and 2mg dienogest). For the first month it was OK, no side effects other then some loss of libido. After talking with doc about it he changed it to another one with levonorgestrel instead of dienogest. After 2 days of taking it I started experiencing extreme thirst, anxiety, palpitations, minor blood sugar rise and hard to sleep (since thirst was waking me up several times).
Avatar n tn Hi, I’ve recently gotten on a birth control pill called “ Norethindrone Acetate and Ethinyl Estradiol 1mg/0.02 mg” What I’ve recently discovered is after taking the three weeks of pills I’m supposed to take a week off of the pills and then start the new pack. Needless to say, I was unaware that I was supposed to be taking this week off between packs. I’ve been taking this birth control for almost 4 months without these week breaks between packs. Is this something I should worry about?
Avatar f tn I have been on Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol birth control pills for more than 1 year. My last period occured during 10th Sept 2012. I stopped taking the pills from the 5th day of the current period cycle. We had unprotected sex from the 12th day of the current menstrual period cycle. Now just after doing the sex, I have started feeling sore nipples, dizzyness, cramps in lower abdomen, very thirsty and sometimes pain in one side of the body.
Avatar f tn I think up to 12 weeks. Keep in mind that they have to disclose possible side effects. All these fertility drugs have crazy side effects......why is it that this is the only one noticed.??
Avatar f tn I'd wait. Sure you could have gotten pregnant but the pills make your period odd the first month. Technically it is supposed to start the week of placebos but mine always started around the first day of the missed pack. You can always test but I'd wait two weeks from the sex to test (as it typically takes two weeks from conception in order to show up on test) and you should get your period between there.
Avatar f tn The side effects of Incurin (estradiol) are similar to the effects of any other reproductive hormone therapy and include: hair loss, swollen vulva, swollen mammary glands, and vomiting. The most serious effect from high doses is that estrogen (the active ingredient in Incurin) may have a tumour-promoting effect in target organs with estrogen receptors, such as the mammary gland. The most dangerous effect of PPA (phenylpropanolamine) is hypertension.

Avatar f tn org/drugs-supplements/estradiol-transdermal-route/side-effects/drg-20075306 However, most women really tolerate it pretty well. The half life of this is pretty short meaning it washes out of your system pretty quickly too.
