Avatar f tn Pilocarpine is totally outdated for glaucoma treatment. If your glaucoma is mild and controlled with one drop most surgeons would advise against doing a glaucoma operation at the same time because it makes the procedure more complicated, risky and expensive. Glaucoma surgery at the same time is indicated if the glaucoma is not controlled, if the person cannot or will not put the drops in their eyes or they are on multiple eye drops.
Avatar f tn There are different types of glaucoma Azopt and timolol are for open angle glaucoma; laser iridotomy is for angle closure glaucoma. You can have both and its called "combined mechanism glaucoma" in that case the laser iridotomy is appropriate. Hopefully you are seeing an eye MD ophthalmoloigst. If you have any doubts you can always ask for a second opinion from another glaucoma specialist. angle closure glaucoma is more common in hyperopic or farsighted eyes.
Avatar m tn I have taken Lumigan for open Angle Glaucoma for a couple of years in one eye only. In April the ophthalmologist asked me to put them in both eyes. 1047019 tn?1256719961 More than likely you didn't have an allergic reaction, it's so rare for that to happen. The dentist probably injected the novacaine directly into the vein instead of into the gum like they were supposed to. This happened to me 2 years ago and I seriously thought I was going to do. If it wasn't injected into your vein then you are probably just hypersensitive to it. Your allergy to wheat and gluten probably has nothing to do with the novacaine.
