From what I have read, symptoms of unstable angina and NSTEMI heart attacks are identical. Only a troponin test can truely indicate whether a person has unstable angina or NSTEMI since EKGs may not pick up electrical changes in heart. After an incident happened in hosptial in which nurse did not give my father nitroglycerin under the tongue for several hours when he needed it because she didn't notify doctor of my fathr's low blood pressure, my father had a second NSTEMI heart.
It turns out that portal vein and superior mesenteric vein are thrombosed. They put her on enoxaparin and wanted her to rest for 5 days until the next control. She refused to be put on heparin or warfarin because of her history of gastrointestinal bleeding and recent surgery. We've been told thrombectomy would be extremely risky, given her medical history.
I read somewhere enoxaparin only prevents further occlusion of the vein and does not lyse existing clot.
I had a NSTEMI 27/10/08. !7/11/08 I was admitted for chest pain and my troponin levels were 1.3 then 1.1 four hours later.They treated me for NSTEMI heprin drip. The ecg showed changes but after having another angiogram the Doctor told me I didn't have another heart attack, the stent looked good as well as the other arteries, and said sometimes the heart can leak troponin.
I am 27 weeks pregnancy and have dvt, start to using CLEXANE(ENOXAPARIN) I am really worried is there any harm to my baby

continue through with warfarin, or to stop the warfarin and bridge in between with enoxaparin or heparin (as snconorm had done).

So continuing through with warfarin seems to be the newer strategy.
What would NOT be done is to stop anticoagulation altogether.
Yes I'm on the generic enoxaparin. I was on it with my first and forth (all 4 pregnancies were miscarriages). Now I'm on it again since 3 1/2 weeks pregnant.

I am 56, had one drug eluding stint placed on Feb 12 in upper LAD with 90pct block. Microscopic damage to the heart muscle still have ejection fraction of 60pct. This was called a NSTEMI This is my first problem ever. I refused a beta blocker and lisinopril becasue pre and post stent I have never had HIgh BP or tachycardia. I did take new aspirin regimen of 81 daily plus 75 of Plavix and Lipitor for a previously known High cholersterol I had refused to treat.

All my enzyme levels were normal (HDL is at middle limit and LDL near lower limit). My BP was 120/80, ECG OK but I was initially diagnosed as NSTEMI by a junior doctor. However, the specialist doctor is not convinced, but they put up me on preventive medication (Carvedilol, Creato, Lowplate etc), that drastically lowered my platelet count to around 40K and thus no Angiography could be done.

The 12-leads were all non-diagnostic for STEMI or NSTEMI, though this did happen after the pt was doing lots of yard work, so ischemia and ACS were definitely on my list of concerns. Thank you again for your response.

After an NSTEMI heart attack and 3 stents, this description is on my husband's cath report: "Post dilation of the proximal edge of the stent resulted in proximal edge dissection and required a third stent." Is this dangerous or cause greater worry for the future?
