An over the counter medication is any medication that can be purchased without a prescription "over the counter", but does not make the medication safer and needs to be taken according to the directions on the package and there is a need to be more vigilent and take into consideration individual health, the benefits versus the risks and potential interactions with any prescribed meidcations.
yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

It's hard to say what's going on when you describe the feeling as "weird." Enablex can cause mild body aches, but this would more likely be on both sides or all over. Do you lay on your left side all the time like when you're watching TV or when you sleep? Do you exercise? If so it could be related to an exercise induce injury or reaction, like if you tend to lean on one side more or lefted heavier weights on one side more. How long has this been going on?
There shouldn't be any chemical reactions taking the two together. The combination will not give the methadone a boost or cause any kind of "high".
Is it possible to become addicted to over the counter medications? My 75 year old mother recently moved to my town so that I could help her financially, etc. I have become very concerned about the amount of excederine, prilosec, nasal spray, aleve, and other antacid medicines that she takes. She has a history of bleeding ulcers, she smokes about 2 packs of cigarettes a week, high blood pressure, and other ailments of old age. I didn't realize that she was taking so much of this medicine.
