Avatar f tn I try to follow healthy eating guidelines but fear of getting fat. I was a fat kid growing up and obesity runs in my family. I am scared because a few years ago I got deathly thin at 75lbs. I know I am too skinny but I fear not be able to control myself after I get to a healthy weight. My father weighs over 370lbs and a lot of my uncles are over 300lbs. I need advice. I know that I need to eat better for my health and longevity of life.
1246367 tn?1271225330 You sound like you are really struggling with your issues and hanging on by your teeth. Food is not the enemy. Planning, cooking and eating healthy and satisfying meals is part of recovery. Are you completely off sugar? Sugar is very addictive and until you have at least a month completely off, you will crave it. For many people, white flour specifically and carbs in general can also be addictive so try and limit these things and eat fresh vegies, fruits, and protein.
Avatar f tn I believe that I may be on my way to an eating disorder. I am 34 years old, 5'3" and I weigh 107. I am very petite and always have been. I haven't truely ever worked out, I've just been very very lucky. Even after having two kids, I lost all the weight without doing much. From as far back as I can remember I have always had problems eating if I was overly stressed or emotional about something. During those times, I will not eat.
4173096 tn?1350669677 It wouldn't be a very healthy weight for you to be honest. Also, I myself have an eating disorder. It's at the point now where I am very sick. Currently waiting to have tests done because now I'm malnutritiin, my stomach is shutting down and I've been admitted to hospital 3 times due to being so sick now. The abdominal pain is constant and can become so bad that I can't walk. My parents know about my eating disorder. Especially now.

Avatar f tn Thanks guys yeah I do eat healthy trying to stick to 1200 calories a day and eating healthy but then As soon as I go over I feel gross! I know you cant get skinny from being bulimic. It's like i Iike having control what goes in or out of my body. It's like the strangest most random obsession to be skinny? I feel more helpless now then when I was a drug addict. I can't tell anyone they would never understand. Mangel that's interesting about the cardio thing.
1564404 tn?1295154236 You definitely have an eating disorder. There is something called non specific, where you niether fit exactly into a catergory.Purging is not good for you ,EVER. NO matter how often , its so bad for your body and teeth. I have suffered from bulimia and I know its a struggle. MY advice is to not restrict yoursefl to 300 cal a day or anything under1200-1500. Your body will go into starvation mode and retain more water and food and in the long run it will make you fatter and unhealthy.
Avatar f tn My favorite things to snack on are pretzels with hummus, grapes, popcorn, pineapple chunks, deviled eggs, and then chicken noodle soup is always nice. (You can even get can pineapple and put it in the freezer for an hour or so.. frozen pineapple is delicious!) tuna with crackers, etc.. Do you cook? You should look on pinterest for healthy food/snack ideas. I dealt with bulimia 7years ago and always hated the shame that came with it.. I feel for you and pray you get control of it. For me..

Parents prepare healthy meals and snacks, and children are to eat them.If your child fusses over all meals, refuses food intake, looks or acts sick, or you notice weight loss, talk to his health care provider as soon as possible.

I do eat things i think are safe at times that appeal to me..i was wondering if there are any healthy low calorie foods you recommend? The more food i feel comfortable eating the more i will recover.
Avatar f tn My doctor said that she thinks my weight is completely normal for a person of my activeness, and my parents make sure I eat healthy. However, they are still concerned about me. My sister does have an eating disorder, and maybe some of that transfers over to me. My periods come and go very irregularly though, which they attribute to my low weight. However, when I was reading the articles about it, they seemed to refer to people who have unhealthily achieved a low weight.

I have lost 10 lbs this pregnancy because of being terrified of gaining too much. How can i get over this? Please do not judge. 9267525 tn?1410816471 Anyone else have an eating disorder and finding it a little hard dealing with gaining weight because of the pregnancy? I would never diet or purge while being pregnant. That could really really harm the baby and the baby is way more important than bad body image problems. But I just can't stop thinking about after I have my baby taking care of him or her and being on dieting and losing a bunch of weight. Does anyone else have this problem?
Avatar f tn I am normally a very healthy person eating all natural no processed food. But since I got pregnant I don't want anything to do with vegetables or fruit. I want salty food and processed food, like pizza rolls and McDonald's. Anyone else doing this?
Avatar n tn Look up "the full plate diet" it's really NOT a diet, but healthy eating. That's what I do, all it is, is a high fiber diet eating lots of whole grains (brown rice, wheat bread, oatmeal) fruits, vegetables and water.
