Avatar m tn So, you’re right to look for cheap rehab centers. You don’t have to break into a bank or go broke in the name of getting off drug and alcohol addiction.

Avatar n tn After the initial sense of relief that my wife finally entered rehab it occurred to me that the hard part may just be beginning. After two weeks and several family sessions both in person and through Zoom the transformation has been amazing (she is sober and enthusiastically embracing rehab) and somewhat concerning not just for me but our son. We have been together 25 years. The person we see after two weeks is a vastly different person. Her transformation is almost cult like.

970581 tn?1248407961 So the other day I posted about our mother being in a residential rehab for 14 years of opiate use. All was given to her legally by doctors. She had taken to much on several occasions and decided she needed to get off of them. Now after 22 days in residential rehab she is really having some mental issues. All the doctors seem baffled. She is really devoted to staying and getting better but has seemed to go a little crazy. They don't know what is happening to her.
Avatar n tn My 18 yr old granddaughter has been arrested for calling her boyfriend who had a restraining order against her. She also has pending, stealing cigarettes, verbal abuse to a nurse, breaking a car window in an argument with someone & we did not post bail & would like to get power of attorney & see if we can have her put in a rehab. She has been on a downward spiral for at least 4 years. We know she drinks & are pretty sure that she takes various drugs. What can we do?

970581 tn?1248407961 She is in a residential rehab center so it is very difficult for her to get drugs and she claims she doesn't want to take anything now she is sober anyway. What do you think this could be causing her to test for drugs.
Avatar f tn I just find out that my 19 years old son is taking Percocet for about 7 month, on average 5-10 pills per day. None of his closest friends use any type of drug. His friend came to us telling that he needs help asap. We sent him to the residential rehabilitation center next day. He tells me that he is happy to be there, he wants his life back. He is been in rehab for 5 days. Please someone explain to me, is that what he really think? How long should take rehabilitation process for the best result?
1331115 tn?1536362140 My niece while in rehab detoxing has come to the realization that she is an addict. She has agreed to go to a residential rehab to work on her problem. I am so proud of her. I talked on the phone with her today and she was crying about all the hurt she caused and for telling me she hated me. I told her that wasn't her that was her addict brain trying to justify why she was taking drugs. She told me that she now understands that and wants everyone to forgive her and trust her again.
Avatar n tn Enjoy that all you have to do is to relax and learn the foundations of sobriety. If you choose not to go to a residential rehab (and i would if i were you, knowing what I know about appreciating the comforts of staying at an Inn, basically) then there are fine day treatment programs, sometimes available for women only, should you prefer. You can get treatment from a facility by the hour, or do what many have done at home (and succeeded) and manage with NA support.
Avatar f tn i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.
Avatar m tn WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...
1151493 tn?1263336020 hi.. try to continue going to meetings or visit a rehab center which residential programs as you stay out of town.. You may have a better life after recovering..
Avatar f tn Maybe they will offer me a drug screen so I can prove I am drug free and maybe do some outpt therapy instead. Otherwise I don't understand being detoxed from something I am detoxed from already. I have no choice and my counselor was not so with it in my opinion as to thinking I had the willpower to pull myself off these meds. I am off as of Tuesday. I feel good physically albeit a bit weak but feel fine.
Avatar m tn I am going to condense this as much as possible. I am 16 years old, older brother to an 11 year old name Nicholas. During his infancy/toddler stage of life, he was attached to his mother (also mine). When my brother was about 4 she passed away from a sever asthma attack right in front of him. We then moved to my fathers mothers house who around the same time had a stroke and a heart attack. She was pronounced completely disabled and unable to walk. She lost control of her whole lower body.
970581 tn?1248407961 I need to know if anyone has had any experience with Residential ************** centers, We had to put our mother into one a few weeks ago for Opiate abuse. Mentally she is starting to really struggle and it is starting to scare us as a family. She has never had mental stability issues but is starting to really have severe mental problems. She has been off all opiates for a week. She has been taking them for pain issues for 15 years now.
Avatar n tn Has anyone every been to rehab for drug addiction? If so...I would like to chat with you about my nephew who had to be taken to rehab after an overdose of Xanax.
Avatar f tn Go to an AA "open" meeting, grab a Big book, and a 12 step (guide) and try to use the group to help you quit,> If and when you are ready to do the first step. That is 1) We admitted we were powerless over alcohol, and that our lives have become unmanageable. So many people get through the detox, at home (which can be dangerous and is often done though a medically supervised detox). It's like it's all or nothing.
Avatar n tn You should have a drug detoxification in the process of drug rehab to cleanse your body from drug residue.
970581 tn?1248407961 She has been in and out of Methadone clinics for lortab overdose and has just been checked into a residential rehab center. She is the best mom a family could ask for. She was put on a suboxone taper over a 10 day period of time where they took her off 2mg a day until down to nothing. Now she has been off Methadone and Lortab for over 2 weeks and Suboxone for almost a week. She seems to be losing control of her mind and emotions.
Avatar m tn He was out for 1 hour and passed his drug test.He does not like rehab and to be honest i thought he would have left by now.But he is so determind to be drug free ,im proud of him as i always thought the worst would happen to James .He finds the meetins hard and to open up but i think that will come in time.Frank says its got to come from James and will eventually come. James will be 1 week clean tomorrow. And over the worst of physical w/dsHe still feels agitated when pushed.
Avatar n tn during his hospital stay a social worker was trying to find a rehab center or nursing home to take him, none of them would bcuz his social security check was too low and his tenncare would not pay. when he left hospital he was walking with assistance, using the bathroom and remembered some things like who we wer ect. now that he is home his behavior is bizzare and paronoid, he keeps falling and defacating everywhere.he does'nt sleep more than a few minutes.
Avatar f tn I have also used ecstacy on and off for 16 years now. I have been in rehab four times. I want to get my life straight. My question is if its possible that my mind will function normal again, how do i know if im beyond point of no-return, drugs have been my long time emotional cruch and i desire rather a fully functional life. Is there a prescribed medication available to assist one during initial period against severe depresion when a person decides to qiut.?
Avatar m tn You need to go to your county of residence outpatient alcohol/drug abuse clinic. They can help you find a good detox program plus do some follow-up treatment. If you keep this up your wife and your children will be the recipients of additional damage, more than what they've already witnessed. You are young!Stop this now before it stops you!
Avatar f tn Here in Canada, the cost of drug rehab is covered and if rehab is accessed, addictions therapists that deal with the addict and family, are also covered. If you have no such insurance, and there is no chance your husband can get into a rehab, and refuses to go to AA without fully accessing drug rehabilitation I think you should consider a Separation, in order for both you and him to consider how you can both serve each other well.
1700527 tn?1307366486 I'm a 23 Y.O woman.. I have done two alcohol detox's in my life, first I was taught 'tough love' and done without any meds in 2007 (maintained it for 6 months) the second one I was put on a ward at the local hospital taking a drug to settle the 'DT'S' (can't spell the name!) when I left I was put on anta buse and stayed sober for nearly eight months in 2010. But got sneaky and stopped the tablet. Also ended up with a heroin addiction for three months.
