I would try to go the detox/rehab route because of the combination of the drugs and alcohol. A focused intervention with a drug counselor could be set up with a trip to detox immediately. Look in your phone book for drug/alcohol assistance. It is usually in the front pages in a special services section. She is in heavy denial and needs to be approached with a worked out strategic plan. Good Luck. Ask for lots of help.

Hi....welcome to the chiari forum. The problem is most drs have not had intensive training on chiari and may be going on older info when they classify the chiari as mild. Most NS and NL don't even mention it unless it is a herniation of 5 mm or more, when the size is not the issue.It depends on if the herniation is causing a blockage and if u have overcrowding. Symptoms and quality of life r the next things that a chiari specialist will look at.

I loved my rehab! I always thought that going to rehab would be THE END, something to be avoided at ALL COSTS. i agree you need to go to rehab....it wll help you in court. but, more than that you can come out of rehab clean and continue to stay that way. there is great support here but i agree na meetings are good too. good luck and keep us posted.

WOW 6 80s a day thats quite a habit...I dont understand if you told them at the drug rehab you shooting them up there would be no question of abuse something dosent sound right here...well there are 2 avenues to take here if you still got a bunch left you could taper off some and get down to a lower dose then jump off and hang on the withdrawals are doable but no fun....plan 2 is just to jump off C/T and bit the bullet you will be sick for a week but you will not dye from it...

i have a lump (the size of a fat lima bean, maybe slightly bigger) under the left side of my tongue. prior to my dr.

so i guess thts wht i was aking but just a lil bit deeper so if anyone that has beed to rehab an could give me ur average day from when an what time u woke up and what u day throughout the day untill u went to bed an what time all those types of answers? and if u go to lets say a 30 day rehab is rehab the same as detox or is detox considered different than rehab???????

Just drink a lot of water and take a lot of vitamins and eat good and listen to what people on this site say and get to a meeting or go to rehab. you are taking a big step, and its been 83 days for me and things are getting better each day, sleep is normal, life is normal, BUT!!!!!

He was out for 1 hour and passed his drug test.He does not like rehab and to be honest i thought he would have left by now.But he is so determind to be drug free ,im proud of him as i always thought the worst would happen to James .He finds the meetins hard and to open up but i think that will come in time.Frank says its got to come from James and will eventually come. I am going crazy i just cant stand to be using anymore but am at a loss as to how i am ever going to do this on my own. I really think i need rehab,detox something of that sort. i live i a small town and dont think we have anything of that sort in our area.

Often rehab never happens when they find someone that will not draw a line. Losing things is part of what it takes for someone to do something about their problems. Addicts attract people that are accepting of the lifestyle. The key is to understand why one would stay for several rounds of relapse. There is no point in that.

Hi. You've had to endure an awful lot growing up, sorry to hear this. You were sefl-medicating with the opiates and now everything you were suppressing is coming to the surface. What we tend to do is"forget" about traumatic events in our lives and they eventually come back to haunt us. Therapy would do you a lot of good. I agree with your wife in seeing a psychiatrist so the two of you can determine what route of treatment would be best for you.
