I am in the same boat as you both. I am on my third week of the Yaz pills and this is the worst I have ever broken out in my life. I'm 18 years old and I have tried EVERYTHING and the only thing that I haven't tried is Accutane. I'm wearing hats to my college classes all the time to cover my face because make-up can only do so much to cover the big, red cystic acne all over my forehead and chin. I am so upset over my face and I just don't know what to do anymore.

I have currently been off my birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo) for about 3 months and am expericencing the WORST acne of my life. It just recently started this past month, my skin was fine the first 2 months I got off. I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing? And if so, did your acne ever clear up once the birth control got out of your system?
Have you seen the write up on the YAZ pill and issues people have experienced as Bayer "maker" of YAZ has not kept to their promises in terms of how good this pill is compared to other contraceptives. In a forum on this website there were quite of bit of ladies who told thier stories relating to this pill, headaches, bad acne, heavy mood swings, lot of others. Is Yaz treating u well?
My hormone imbalance from the previous BC was no longer a problem either. Also, it did help clear up my acne, wishing I was still on it right now for the acne benefits. I'm off of it now because my husband and I are wanting to start a family.
When it comes to things like these, you will always be able to find the negative easier. People tend to complain more, or have a reason to write more when they have something go wrong.
So last night my boyfriend and I had sex and he came in me. I'm on birth control for moderate acne. Please tell me my bc Will work to prevent pregnancy too. I'm worried I might have a low dosage of yaz birth control and it won't help. And I am supposed to be ovulating now. Please help me.

ll go back on a different bc pill because they help with acne. Big mistake. I should have gone to a dermatologist instead! Within a day I was experiencing the tingling and burning in my neck. So, I googled this issue and found this site. Effective today, I am off the pill. Hopefully, things will get back to normal soon. Oh, and yes, I have had my thyroid tested many times (while on the pill? not sure if this makes a difference?) and even had a thyroid scan.
I've been on both Yazmin and Yaz (a different version of yazmin). Both have done me no favors. Instead of reducing the days I'm on my period it increased it by 3 days, with horrible cramping. Yaz was the strangest for me though. My hormones were very much out of wack, and had absolutely no sex drive whatsoever! I would not recommend it. I have had several friends (4) try Yaz as well and had many problems. Hopefully you have called a doctor about your rash though.
I'm 19 and have been taking birth control pills (a generic version of Yaz) for several years for acne. It's worked well, and I rarely get breakouts. However, I recently became sexually active and it's sometimes a pain remembering to take them at the same time daily. I've been looking into more longtemr birth control solutions.
I have now stopped the injection and started on the Qlaira contraceptive/birth control pill, which I know is not especially for improving acne as some are (Yaz, Diane 35), but I want to know how likely this change is to help, as i really am at the end of my tether. I'm about a week into my second pack and so far, nothing has changed - for better or worse.
I was on Loestrin 1/20 Fe for 2 years and it initially seemed to help the acne, but eventually it got worse. I switched to Estrostep 1/20 for 6 months and it got even worse. Then I switched to Ortho Cyclen in hope that the higher estrogen dosage would help. It has and my face is almost clear after 3 months. However, it has made me gain weight and be bloated all the time. This is not okay, so I definitely need to switch again because I cannot afford to buy all new clothes in the next size up.
Hi, I have struggled with cystic and chronic acne for over a decade, I'm 24 y/o female. I am beginning my 4th year of using Nexplanon birth control, I had a new one put in Feb 2021. I was prescribed Estradiol to help with excessive bleeding for my periods and when I took it for 10 straight days my face cleared up almost 100% for the first time in 10 years. I was over the moon happy until my gyno said I could not be on Estradiol long term and she would not prescribe me anymore.
I have found a lot of information linking gallbladder disease with the BC pill Yaz. I myself have been going through some major health issues since about 2 months after I started taking the pill. Although the pill has cleared my acne and evened out my hormone levels, I've been to several doctors because of a pain in my right side. I've also had my appendix removed because of a misdiagnosis. Now my doctors are convinced that I have to have my gallbladder removed.

I switched to Yaz because the doc thought it would help with the extreme fatigue I experienced the week before my period. There was no other need for me to switch other than to combat that problem. It is now 5 months later and I am stopping it right in the middle of the pack & throwing away my next two packs that I already bought because I attribute my current issues to Yaz. I normally have a very high sex drive for as long as I can remember and now have no desire whatsoever.
i had the same problems with Yaz. I was on yasmin and when asking for more from my doctor she accidenty wrote yas...not yasmine so i tried it for a few months. it was horrible. I become very depressed and moody, gained weight, had bad acne, and become very paranoid. I switched to levora which i've been on ever since ( 3yrs). My symptoms all went away once i stopped taking Yaz. I'm not sure if it would take 4 months of your hormones to regulate...
I am looking for help in regards to my 13 year old daughter. She has severe cystic acne for the past 7 months. The cystic acne was just beginning late last year in 2013. The oral antibiotics were of no further help so we started Accutane in Dec 2013. She had the terrible initial flare but it has not stopped!! She started out on Accutane 30mg twice a day and then bumped up to 40mg twice a day. Then dropped to 40mg once a day. She weighs about 155lbs.
t feel super stressed. Why does my hair continue to fall out and why do I have acne when my skin was perfectly clear before. Yes, I would maybe have one or two pimples at a time consistently before but this is a whole new ballpark. Hair is starting to be very thin with a lot of super short hairs. Back is embarrassing and not getting better. Help please!
