I wanted to add to this because my son recently experienced the same thing. He had scarlet fever, which basically comes with strep throat for some people. It started just like that, I noticed tiny red dots all over his body. We got medicine for his strep and then just gave him oatmeal baths and used non scented lotion. It got really bad and the entire top layer of his skin ended up peeling off. It was not fun. Just a suggestion, hope I could help.
My son had high fever with rash on his hands arms, back and chest. We took him to the doctor and he diagnosed Scarlet fever. He priscribed Amoxicillin for 10 days. He started taking it and 3rd day his fever was gone, rash was gone. I sent him to day care for one day as I had to go to office and he came back with minor fever again. There are differentials for a rash in children who present with fever. At this point, given your child's age and the presentation of the rash, scarlet fever and hand,foot and mouth disease are differentials.

I can see Fifth disease to still be possible, because it may act differently in adults than kids. But I don't think it could be scarlet fever at all. I mean it usually comes it a facial rash yes, but also a high fever, strawberry tongue, and then a full on rash. Also you feel pretty freaking miserable if you got it.

I'm a 20 year old female wondering if it's possible that I am experiencing symptoms of acute HIV. Here's the background:
Possible exposures: sex with man (status unknown), with condom, just over a month ago. Almost two weeks ago, oral sex (giving and receiving) with a different man (status unknown), ejaculated in my mouth both times.
I've got a rash. Started on my arms, now all over my body. Getting worse not better. Went to the docs she said scarlet fever but I don't have any other symptoms other than the rash. She put me on anti biotics but nothing is getting better after 2 days of taking them, and I've had the rash for 6 days now.
My groin lymph nodes are swollen. I have a blocked ear and doc also said my throat is inflamed.
Rash is just lots of little bumps. Some in clusters. Sometimes pink.
I am asking whether I could get this from my partner they show no signs at all but in the last week their hands have started to peel in exactly the same way mine are following the scarlet fever rash.
I am worried that this may not be scarlet fever but something more, is there any std that comes across this way. My Doctor has said that is highly unlikely I was infected from my partner following their treatment or that I was reinfected from them following my antibiotics course.

Thank you for your response. I don't think I have any of the diseases listed first because I haven't had any fever and the rash is not raised, doesn't itch or scale over. It's below the skin like little bits of blood. It doesn't turn white when pressed & starts to fade within 3 or 4 days. This makes the 2nd episode approx 2 weeks apart. I have had pain in lower adominal area on the right side that comes & goes.

her tongue is normal, i saw about acarlett fever, she does not act sick, no fever associated with this, her reg fam dr said it is eczema and said deal with it basically, like it is no big deal......i think it is a big deal, it is getting worse, her skin is getting rougher and rougher. the rash is red, raised slightly, kinda in big patches, but then there are also small sections too.....some areas are worse than others.
The next day my fever ws gone and the only thing that lingers is a sore throat. My mother being an RN seems to think it is scarlet fever caused by a dormant strep infection I had about a month ago. I am not so sure as I did not have any strawberry tongue are patches in my mouth. Problem is she is nearly half way across the country and can't see the rash to help. The oldest spots are beginning to fade but the ones in the moist area re bright and it seems to be slowly spreading...
