Common Questions and Answers about Does pataday have a generic

pataday

Avatar n tn My doctor told me not to mix and match. NOW AARP Rx is sending me a generic Olopatadine HCL by Rising Labs and I am paying the same price as the Brand Patanol which works great for me. I live in NE NJ..
Avatar m tn Hi. I was wondering if i could use Pataday if i have ocular herpes? Are there any risks that i should be aware of when using Pataday?
Avatar n tn i went to the doctors yesterday and after i did some research on the two drops you mentioned and i found patanol eye drops here on prescription in australia, which contains the same active ingredient as pataday drops just in a two drops twice a day method because its only 1mg not 2.22mg like pataday, i have done 2 doses of the drops and on my lord they are awesome! the redness has settled right down much quicker than in the past!
Avatar m tn I believed it was pink eye and when i went to the doctor they prescribed Pataday as well as some other drops i would apply 4 times a day. My eyes got better and i did not wear my contacts at all. They said to only put your contacts in after 2 days of my eyes bein completely white . Weeks passed and i did that. Then i noticed my eyes started getting red again. Not itchy or hurting just red. So about 3 weeks later i got checked out again.
Avatar f tn I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue. I took a second opinion from a diff. Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Lotopred, Ikul, Systane ultra eye drops for every four hours a week and said not to wear lenses for 10 days. I followed the instructions and my eyes got back to normal.
Avatar n tn Hi, thanks for your response! Is there a way the doctor can tell if the irritation is from my actual contact lense or an environmental/home allergen? Since my lenses have been removed and I've been on steroids for two months, should I be concerned that it's maybe from a environmental/home allergen? Or does it really take this long to go away? I have never had any issues with allergies. According to my doctor after flipping my eyelids, I'm between "mild/moderate" case.
Avatar f tn I've been dealing with this problem now for about three years. I don't think my opthamologist knows exactly what is going on. Isn't there any way of the doctor to take a tear sample and have a culture done? That seems to be the only way of finding out whether there is a bacterial thing going on. If I suggest this to the doctor, she will shrug it off and just say that she can't see any sign of infection and that it's an alergic reaction to something. So, what do I do?
Avatar m tn There can be many causes but for many folks it is jsut something they live with and control with there are flareups, but those of affected with it have to learn to live with it. In my case I have to use a steroid ointment. But when it flare up there is absolutely nothing I could have done to prevent it. I stopped wearing any eye makeup years ago, etc.
Avatar f tn t tell if it has added to already existing discomfort. Have beenn Restasis, Alrex , Pataday and now Muro ointment. I see a well known Corneaologist and he wants me to have the Amniotic Membrane Transplant especially now that I have developed the eye cysts. I don't know what to do -- wld like other opinions on this procedure and its history on long term resolution of Conjunctivochalsis. Also, are my cornea issues related to the extended use of Restasis? Alrex & Pataday?
455075 tn?1223052517 By any chance did you switch from brand name synthroid to a generic? Sometimes the levels of thyroid hormones in generic just aren't as consistent as they should be. However, it just might be your body adjusting to all the changes - I had a TT in May '06 and had perfectly good levels until my 3 month followup, when I went hypo and needed a dosage increase. I'd call you doctor and tell them your symptoms and ask to have your thyroid levels tested.
Avatar n tn I had lasik back in 02 & never had a problem--had white eyes & never dry. Just used OTC generic artificial tears here & there. Then in 5/08, I develop. red eyes & had a prominent vessel in my left eye. Eye dr. said it was strain from studying for my MBA and should go away on its own. He took eye tests and put me on restasis. The redness went away but the prominent vessel stayed. It's still there to this day & the eye dr.
Avatar n tn Neither Maxitrol or tobradex are good choice for allergic conjunctivitis. Both often irritate the eye and have harseh preservatives in them. You would best use a good artificial tear: Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar f tn They are not a cure for dry eyes and you still need to be using lubricant drops. Usually you would have seen some type of benefit within a few days particularly if all 4 puncta were occluded. Here is my advise if you have contacts and dry eyes. Look into Acuvue Oasys which I have found to be about the best for this situation. Take flaxseed oil 1000 mg twice a day and omega 3 fish oil about 1000-2000 mg a day.
Avatar f tn I had temporary (week long) eye plugs put in my eyes due to dry eyes along with Pataday once a day eye drop for eye allergies. My eyes plugs were put in on Wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the plugs to work, I mean my eyes aren't burning like before, but they're still somewhat red. I don't know if it's cleared a little, but I don't see a big difference. How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes.
Avatar f tn it is a wrong name for drugs just to make more money for the first drug maker who did the drug generic is the same drug made from another drug maker, this is why the name generic is very wrong, generic sounds like the drug is different but only drug maker is different.
Avatar f tn Have you have been evaluated to see if you have something called 'Dry Eye'? It's very common as we get older, and leaky, teary eyes are, paradoxically, one of the most troublesome signs (you can google 'dry eye' and see if you recognize yourself there). The rezoom lens almost certainly has nothing to do with your symptoms, but it sounds as though it's time for you to have another visit with your eye doctor about the excessive tearing.
Avatar n tn No problems at all. Now we have been back at school 3 weeks and my eyes are at it again. I have a white discharge sometimes and they are dry as can be and burn. Should I go back to the eye doc and start the drop process again. With my history of AMD I am afraid not to go. I know however chances are its not related.
Avatar f tn I certainly noticed a huge difference in Effexor and the generic form. When I was withdrawing I did have to go onto the generic as it comes in tablet form which I could then cut up. Hope you can get the real Effexor, and I am glad you are feeling so much better on it. It would be nice if you could get your meds free too. Take care.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC and recently ended the use of steroid drops. Ever since I've stoped the steroid drops, I've woken up with crusty, glued eyes. Could the lingering GPC be causing this? I've been doing artificial tears multiples times a day and Pataday drops 2x a day. I have a follow up appointment soon, I'm thinking about trying to move it up if this is something serious.
Avatar m tn s had problems with holding her urine. At times it will just come out. She was put on a med. from the Vet. Does anyone know of a generic brand or natural one that will do the same. I can't keep going back paying office visits everytime she needs a new med.
Avatar f tn It would be greatly appreciated. Also I want to encourage those who have had to struggle in a simular situation. NEVER GIVE UP. EVERY NO IS A ONE STEP CLOSER TO A YES! You are not alone. We know all the sadness and fears your struggling with. Much love.
Avatar f tn However about a year ago, whilst visiting a friend, I woke to an itchy eyelid, not much , just a little red patch and itchy. I thought I had been bitten in the night, it didn't amount to anything and cleared up. Several months later, it happened again - I woke to find a slight red patch on my eyelid which on standing up, literally filled up with fluid as I watched and just got bigger for a number of hours! Usually lasts all day and has almost gone down on day 2.
Avatar f tn Oh yes- forgot to add I am on only name brand synthyroid and cytomel. My endo will not write prescription for generics, says they vary too much - just as you experienced. Thank you.
Avatar n tn I hate anxiety does anyone know of a good anxiety drug that does not make you gain any weight besides ativan and xanax omg I cant freakin handel it anymore!!!!
Avatar f tn My left eye is very swollen and it appears to be a blocked tear duck, However I have been to see two Opthamologist, eye doctor, and Allergy doctor, and General Medicine doctor. No one has been able to figure this one out. It is at its worse i the Morning when I wake up. The eye lid is full of fluid, which looks like my tears . It drains slowly throughout the day and fills back up over night. I've taken antibiotics, Steroid drops, ointments . Nothing has worked.
