ve been using anti-hypertensives for ten years now starting with Lotensen and then switching to Diovan HCT then to hydroclorothyazide for a year or two then back to Diovan HCT. I am about 20 kgs overweight. I walk every day and when in a good routine 8 kms a day, up and down hills through fields etc.
my toes and lower legs are feeling numb. I tried metoprol and diovan hct and although by bp is in the normal range my heart rate is elevated unless I continue on the cardizem cd. Is there another medication that I can discuss with my cardiologist to replace the cardizem cd that will keep my heart rate in the normal range? I feel I've got to withdraw from the cardizem as the side effects seem to be progressing the longer I use the medication.
Recently started Symbicort inhaler and systemic blood pressure went up 180/108 and was wondering if the med would be likely to raise pulmonary pressure as well. Doctor added HCT to already prescribed Diovan which seems to be working but am on low dose of Symbicort and may have to increase it.
s on lipitor 80mg once daily, metoprolol 25mg (2x daily), diovan, and aspirin 81mg. any comment on this prescription mix? thanks so much for your advice.
Started on 80mg, tried 160mg, back to 80mg and currently on Diovan 160mg/12.5mg HCT as of a week ago. My BP was spiking to 150/100 so my doctor decided to try adding the water tab.
Here in lies the issue. Over the course of the last year I started noticing that I was getting very tired, and especially dizzy throughout much of the day. Headaches have increased, stiff muscles, and a general feeling of sluggish.
5 about one week ago and takes three bp meds; atenonol 25 mg, diovan hct 325/12.5, amlodipine besylate 5mg, also started Ranexa 5 weeks ago 500mg twice a day (for angina). His bp now is 110/60 range but with the dizziness on Monday it was 84/52. Would the nitro patch cause the diziness? He is to wear the patch for 12 hours and take it off at bedtime. He has had 3 angioplasty's with a total of 7 stents in the last 7 months and he is also diabetic with good control.

Hello, your Ferritin (iron stores) can be very low even when HGB, HCT, and "iron" are within the normal range. My Ferritin is very low low with HGB/HCT similar to yours and I'm on prescription strength iron. Are you having any symtpoms of low iron? I've been having extreme hair loss, which is believed to be a result of the low iron stores. Ferritin stores are the first thing to fall before you become Aemic.
I asked my doctor to add HCT, however, because I developed a rash from taking a sulfa antiobiotic 10 years ago, he doesn't want to take the chance. So he put me back on Lotrel along with the Valturna. He said as my BP comes down, he'll adjust the meds. My questions are: (1) I've read that having a rash deveop from a sulfa antiobiotic doesn't necessary mean I'll have an allergic reaction to HCT. Is it safe to try the diuretic to see what happens?

Tell them what happened, what your Notidication letter said, AND that you are still on tx (maybe start with that), and ask what you need to do to get approved for their assistance. If you meet their income requirements and furnish the info they want, you should be able to get the meds free, or with at least no more than a $30 co-pay. I take my pulse several times a day to keep track of it. Currently I take Diovan/hct which is a angiotensin receptor blocker which seems to be the only medication that keeps my blood pressure under control. Unfortunately, for the years between being diagnosed and getting new insurance I maintained uncontrolled blood pressure. I will definitely ask the cardiologist for an EP study. Thank you for the information and I hope this may help clear up what may not have made sense.

I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (probable viral or idopathic) in May, with an EF of 16%. Prior to diagnosis my PMD had put me on Diovan HCT, and a medrol dose pack as he was thinking my cough/SOB was from my lungs. The week between seeing him and having the ECHO and stress and being diagnosed I began felta alot better.
My cardio put me on "heart rest" and Coreg 6.25mg BID
In July had another echo, my EF was 40% and my heart had grew smaller (almost normal) .
could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.
