514523 tn?1215832667 8 I have high bloodpressure and have been on Diovan for 2 months . But My Dr. is giving me Toprol and Zocor too while I wait to see the ENDO . I am kinda scared to take all these meds along with what the Endo is gonna give me. Anyone with hyperthyroidism taking any of these meds and do they have bad side effects?

406399 tn?1201884300 so expect some problems to happen while switching meds. Toprol is a nastybad drug to take! and Diovan isnt any better !! my doctor upped the dose of verapamil that helped me alot , and we cutt down on the max ! next to nothing now.. that really helped me calm down, and most of the jitters stopped. im ok now, but still have some slight problems from the toprol xl withdrawal symptoms. beware of this happening ! and keep in step with your doctor daily.
Avatar f tn My question is could this be the result of the CVID? My PP reduced my Diovan HCL 160 to Diovan 80 to see if that was the problem. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn I'm a 64 yrs. old woman who used to take Diovan 320 mg. & Toprol 50 mg. for my B.P. My B.P. readings was okay but my Doctor discontinued the Toprol because my heart rate usually on the 40's. I am currently taking Norvasc 5mg. with the Diovan 320 mg. So far, my B.P. readings is very good, 110/70. But eversince I started the Norvasc, my left leg is swelling and it is becoming worst. I'd like to ask my Doctor to discontinue the Norvasc.
Avatar m tn I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I made a big mistake of stopping the Diovan all together.

Avatar n tn Several years ago my doctor said I could go off it as I was on Norvasc and Diovan. Based on a 24 BP monitor, it was discerned I did not need the Atenolol. I was able to cut my dose to 25mg. but cannot get off it. I become irritable, jittery and have a short fuse. Recently, became a vegan and my BP has dropped so I tried to d/c the atenolol once again. Will I ever be able to get off this med. my BP is 101/60 just on 5 mg. of Norvasc.

378273 tn?1262097621 I am 73 and take Warfarin for atrial fibrillation. I also had a hip fracture nine months ago. I also take a blood pressure medication, Diovan, and Metopropolol 25 mg. Would any of these drugs cause the elevation in liver enzymes?
Avatar n tn ve been using anti-hypertensives for ten years now starting with Lotensen and then switching to Diovan HCT then to hydroclorothyazide for a year or two then back to Diovan HCT. I am about 20 kgs overweight. I walk every day and when in a good routine 8 kms a day, up and down hills through fields etc.
Avatar n tn Last week my blood pressure reached 170/100. My internist doubled Diovan from 80 mg to 160 mg. My bp has come down to 133/80 to 150/85 range in 10 days. I learned that some weman experienced elevated blood pressure and blood clots while on Arimidex. And Arimidex is known to cause high blood pressure and blood clots. How do know for sure that Arimidex is the cause of my high blood pressure?
Avatar f tn The only drug interactions on his list of medications is that Prevacid may reduce effectiveness of Plavix. Vertigo is a known adverse reaction for Carvedilol. Dizziness is a fairly common adverse reaction listed for many medications including Furosemide, Diovan, Pravastatin, and Carvediolol. So it seems he is experiencing known side effects for these drugs, but not because they are interacting with each other.
Avatar m tn ve lost 12 pounds and my bp has dropped from 148/98 to 135/88. I am also taking Diovan though hope to be off it as I continue to lose weight. (2) I don't smoke and rarely drink. (3) I did have a stress test a year or two ago that turned up nothing significant. Any further testing I should consider? (4)I have spoken with my family doctor, but other than the stress test, she suggested nothing else.

Avatar n tn i have a history of mitral valve stenosis - rheumatic fever in childhood -- no changes in EKG, echo, carotid doplers MRI, etc - should i be concerned regarding nocturnal tachycardia -- am on toprol twice a day, diovan, and simvastatin, premarin, metroprolol, saw cardiologist in Dec -- diovan was added because bp was slightly elevated -- just started the night tachycardia -- wakes me up and then I fall right back to sleep before I can even check my pulse rate -- should I contact him?
Avatar n tn ? . I have high blood pressure. I was taking diovan 320 and dilitiazem 360 & metoprolol 100mg. With this my blood pressure averaged 130-140 over 80-90. Now all of a sudden my blood pressure was down to 85-90/50 with a pulse of 50'ish, i was dizzy and felt weak. I dropped my diovan to 160 and dilitiazem to 120, but my pressure is still running about 95/55 w/a 60 pulse. I feel my blood pulsing? thru my body, and am sweaty. Whats up???
Avatar m tn Yes Atenolol is a beta blocker, funny thing I have a book and it lists Atenolol as a social phobia drug. Well tomorrow I am seeing the Cardiologist to put me off this drug or give me something else. Another side effect I am having is mild chest pain. Current BP: 120/78 - Pulse 57 I have a feeling its the Beta Blocker keeping my Diasolic rate high. Man in just 3 months I can't belive how my life has changed. I wish I can be normal and go back in time.
Avatar f tn Patients who already have an elevated blood pressure and heart rate are at a higher risk of raising their blood pressure. However, the Diovan will work to decrease your blood pressure. It is best to minimize, or even eliminate any intake of caffeine and decongestants since both will raise your blood pressure. It is an excellent idea to take your blood pressure on a daily basis and also to keep a diary or log of your blood pressure readings.
