Diovan and pvcs

Common Questions and Answers about Diovan and pvcs

diovan

Avatar m tn But, Atenolol is a beta blocker and some people find that BBs suppress their PVCs.
Avatar n tn ve been hypertensive for 10+ years but have been treating it with meds and diet since diagnosis in my mid-20s. I take diovan and HCTZ (40mgs and 12.5mgs respectively). My resting pulse rate is usually 60-70. I probably get about 2 or 3 PVCs per hour and have had an echo test, stress test, halter monitor, etc, and have been cleared as healthy and fine by my doc. I am learning to live with this, but what alarms me is that the PVCs increase with exercise.
Avatar m tn Thinking about them make it worse so try to keep your mind off of them. These things come and go. Mine will happen off and on for years and then just go away for a year or two, no one really knows why. Your heart has been proclaimed as healthy by your doctor so these things should not really have any significance.

484583 tn?1230605092 I am 55 and do not have PVCs. Thanks for your post, that helps!
Avatar n tn I have a damaged heart and recently diagnosed with PVCs...I am waiting for an EP Study in about 2 weeks. Today I got the flu...I haven't thrown up (yet), but I am concerned about it and even just the flu symptoms. Also...I don't have CHF or blockage. Should I be concerned?
378273 tn?1262097621 Also, I still have Afibs about once a week and am now getting some weird PVC-types ( I think) Usually my PVCs consist of a pause between some of my beats (about 2 seconds maybe) and that's it. Now however, I feel some normal beats and then a tiny, almost un-noticable beat kind of piggy-backing on the next beat. I have never had those before I started the betablocker. I know beta blockers don't cause irregular heart beats so maybe I've had these little mini PVC's all along.
Avatar m tn I wonder how many you had because I have read posts on here from people who have worn a 24 hr monitor and they had like 35000 (yes thousand) PVCs ina 24hr period and were not put on any meds. Research PVCs and PACs. Dont get anxious about this because it will make it worse. Call your doctor and just straight up ask them if you are in any life danger.

Avatar f tn I want to stick to my baby aspirin, Diovan 80/day, lipitor 20/day and vitamins and Calcium. Am I being foolish in making this decision and refusing to be cathed?
Avatar m tn In regards to the stent, I take Plavix 75mgn, Diovan 80 mg, Aspirin 325 mg and Furosemide 20 mg. (Some of these meds make me feel very tired, particularly the Mexiletine.) Four weeks after my hospitalization, I started working out on my elliptical 3-4 times a week and currently I do approx 1.7 miles per workout. (My doctor said don't push it.) I usually average 11-12 min miles I do have some pvcs while at rest or exercising, but they don’t bother me.
Avatar m tn I am taking 160 mg Diovan for high blood pressure, as well as 20 mg Levostatin for high cholesterol. I believe that I have ed caused by the Diovan. Is it safe to take ed drugs as well?
Avatar f tn s on lipitor 80mg once daily, metoprolol 25mg (2x daily), diovan, and aspirin 81mg. any comment on this prescription mix? thanks so much for your advice.
378273 tn?1262097621 I am really puzzled. I had two grey-out episodes last night with the Afibs. The doctor wants to see me to put me on a 3 week monitor. It is still too early to call the office, so I'm hoping someone can answer some questions 1.Could Coumadin cause the long pauses 2. I have a one degree left bundle block, do the new long pauses mean the bundle block is getting worse? 3. Can the long pauses be caused by too much medication (I'm also on Diovan and 25mg Metoprolol as well as the Coumadin. 4.
Avatar f tn I had taken Toprolol when much younger and in normal sinus rhythm (then it too was 50mg SR) and it had no side effects that I can recall, I was still running for exercise. You might want to discuss using a calcium channel blocker to lower blood pressure. In all my comments are made with no knowledge of "diovan" and its side-effects. Good luck in finding a way to keep the BP normal, that is an important issue.
Avatar f tn I am taking Amlodipine (Norvasc) 5mg and occasionally my legs and ankles (on both legs and never the leg itself) will swell to the point that my shoes will no longer fit, but the the swelling will go down for a while (a week, two weeks perhaps) until it happens again.
Avatar m tn Part 1: I am a 54 year old male. I have high blood pressure and have been on medication for about 2 years now. I started taking Diovan 40 mg about 3 years ago, but my doctor thought it wasn't working so he increased it to 160 mg. After a while, I started feeling dizzy or light headed and We decided to cut down diovan to 80 mg. the dizziness went away for a few monts then it came back and was getting worse. I made a big mistake of stopping the Diovan all together.
1346429 tn?1303874854 I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.
Avatar n tn Hello, I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (probable viral or idopathic) in May, with an EF of 16%. Prior to diagnosis my PMD had put me on Diovan HCT, and a medrol dose pack as he was thinking my cough/SOB was from my lungs. The week between seeing him and having the ECHO and stress and being diagnosed I began felta alot better. My cardio put me on "heart rest" and Coreg 6.25mg BID In July had another echo, my EF was 40% and my heart had grew smaller (almost normal) .
343006 tn?1314446471 I was slowly weened off Toprol xl and Diovan - about 8 months ago - and put on ccb -verapamil and dieretic maxzide iv been on them for about 4 months - and have been having problems, such as ankles swelling. and closeing throat when eatting! as well bloating belly conditions. over the past month iv noticed my face is always red in color. and my left eye has been twitching off and on.. I seem to dehydrate rapid and cant hydrate fast enough - even when I cutt down on the dieretic med.
378273 tn?1262097621 I am 73 and take Warfarin for atrial fibrillation. I also had a hip fracture nine months ago. I also take a blood pressure medication, Diovan, and Metopropolol 25 mg. Would any of these drugs cause the elevation in liver enzymes?
Avatar n tn For three weeks of consistently avoiding gluten the BP has stayed in the healthy range. I diminished the Diovan HCT to nothing and plan in August after more walking and careful diet to have another fasting blood sugar done since I am hoping the high reading was due to the hydroclorothiazine and not belly fat, obesity and a family history of type 2 diabetes. So what's my question?
