Avatar m tn Monocyte normal value, according to a lab that did that type of test on me (lab values vary) 1.7-9.3 percent, so yours would be low than at 1.1. But on stills disease lab test site, they say that normal can be 0-9 percent which would put your number in normal range seemingly. It says monocytes are helpful in fighting severe infections and that a low value indicates a state of health.
1037184 tn?1252781679 I am negative for both and would like to remain so. The lab values on his HSV 2 test were quite high. My question is do your lab values fluctuate or go up when my partner is in an outbreak? An example of what I am asking would be similar to a case where someone has some sort of bacterial infection and their white count goes up.
Avatar n tn Hi, Firstly, let me clarify that the TSH values are not in %. Anyhow, the normal range of TSH is now 0.3-3.0 and your values are definitely high and are suggestive of hypothyroidism (means decreased functioning of the thyroid gland) and you will definitely need thyroid replacement therapy in the form of tablets.
Avatar m tn My question is, are there any specific lab values that represent ascites and if the “causes” of ascites specifically are getting better? I understand the cirrhosis is the cause but are there certain LAB values that represent or can be used to judge ascites and see if the TIPS will perhaps work again?
Avatar f tn My husbands grandmother had non-hodgkins. Now my husbands lab values are abnormal. Wbc, Rbc, Hct, hgb, rdw, neut, lymph, mono, baso#'s are high. Just really concerned. Referring us to a hemotologist. what do you think.
Avatar n tn That's not an easy question to answer since reference ranges for thyroid lab tests are very flawed. TSH is a pituitary hormone, and as such is a screening test at best for asymptomatic individuals. Typically, individuals who are hyper have TSH less-than 0.3, and hypos have TSH greater-than 3.0. However there are esoteric thyroid problems that don't conform to that rule and can actually reverse it.
Avatar n tn Please post your most recent thyroid labs along with their reference ranges which vary lab to lab so have to come from your own lab report. With those, we might be able to be able to comment more confidently about what's going on as far as your thyroid is concerned. I don't know enough about the other drugs you are taking to comment. It sounds like a visit to your doctor is definitely in order. .
Avatar m tn Yes, bleeding can cause a drop in CBC values and once the bleeding stops these values improve. Low triglycerides with normal or high cholesterol can be due to poor eating habits, hyperthyroidism, malabsorption syndromes (including Crohn’s and most likely cause in your case), as a side effect of certain drugs (like nicotinic acid, clofibrate), etc.
651681 tn?1384872629 i have this as well. i think it means that there is a large variation in size of your red blood cells? i think if the other values (rbc count, hemoglobin, hematocrit, etc) were out of whack, they'd be more concerned. were you other values within range? maybe you need more iron in your diet? i guess on any given day our blood work can change depending on our stresses, exposures, diets, etc. i have high rdw and low hemoglobin.
Avatar m tn sorry but normal alt values has been changed since years on european and US guidelines and of course on all studies, normal alt is 30 for men and 19 for women studies on liver related deaths suggest even lower alt at 15 for both men and women but since diet on most western countries is rubbish such low values can t be used because most population has higher values due to chemicals in food and type of diet as to problems with bones it is well known they are due to low vitamin d 25 oh levels whi
Avatar m tn t tested for that. The values they gave were 1.19 igm and 0.16 igg. These results were taken from a blood test of some sort. From what I have been reading on some of the boards it seems that this test is unreliable. Is that so? What do these values mean? Why in the world would these people tell us she has herpes if that's not the case? Since these values are so low does that indicate a possible false positive? Or does it just mean that her exposure was too recent to tell?
4356842 tn?1353312209 Been taking digoxin since being diagnosed. I am pretty sure I have had svt all my life, I do recall having attacks when I was younger, but three years ago is when it go bad and more frequent. My cardio told me at first that he things surgery is a last resort for me. I am tired of dealing with the episodes. I feel lucky that their not that bad and that they are tolerable. I am just worried about having the ablation and coming out worse than what I am now.
Avatar f tn Concierge physician is home with ill wife, office closed with no medical backup. Do you think I can continue with these lab values until he may return next week or is this worth of an ER visit, which I do not want to do. So, hold on with current Synthroid dose or E.R.
Avatar f tn Hello, I just got some lab results back. I found out I have Hep C back in 1999. Had a liver biopsy it wasn't too bad and have been tracking lab values since. I recently got these labs back and am wondering if anyone can tell me if I should be alarmed and what to do next. I am just switching from Military health care to Civilian Health care. I have ben feeling like total ****. Genotype 1b ast194 alt 274 HCV ab 34.
Avatar n tn Yes there are issues that can complicate diagnosis, but with hypo symptoms and those test results for Free T3 and Free T4, it is pretty clear that your thyroid hormones are too low in their ranges. I say ranges, because I am assuming that the reference ranges shown for those tests would be similar to those I see quite often. The ranges are far too broad, since they were established erroneously and have not been corrected like done for TSH over 10 years ago.
Avatar f tn Do lab values usually get better after stopping incivek.... Hbg @9.1..... Stop inc the same day got labs.
Avatar n tn I took Digoxin for a number of years in reponse to an atrial fibrillation event. My new physician did not feel I needed to be on it any longer. What are the side effects of discontinuing this medication? I have been off it for several months and some odd changes in my body.
Avatar n tn s explanation where he states digoxin is used to treat irregular heartbeats. I was on digoxin for a few months following my congested heart failue event. It is my understanding the medication is used to increase contractility of the pumping chambers. My medication for stablizing heart rate is a beta blocker (coreg) and an ACE inhibitor. My research: "Digoxin is contraindicated in patients with ventricular fibrillation.
1765684 tn?1333819168 I see people posting values that I can't figure out... Or I can't figure out my own... 3 weeks ago it was 107 with a reference range of 123 - 157. I think that was at week 5. I see values posted of 9, 10, etc. being 'low'. How low is mine in comparison? I'm assuming it's a different unit of measurement since I'm in Canada.
1001981 tn?1293978481 If you started to feel better after the two weeks on 50 mcg, it probably indicates that it was benefiting you. Were you only on levo for two weeks altogether? Do you have the lab results from before you started the levo? I think going to an endo would be an excellent idea. I think your neurologist is wrong. Your numbers are low enough to cause muscle aches, etc. If you get your FT3 up, you might be surprised to find out how many of your other ailments are actually thyroid symptoms...
