I've taken 2 Diflucan tablets one one friday and one on Saturday. Monday i started bleeding my period is not due for another week.

As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.
I never took diflucan long term. I will get two diflucans at one time. I will take the first pill and then the other pill 3 days later. Plus a cream that I put on the outside for 7 days.
I remember a doctor giving me 3 refills of diflucan to get two pills at one time.

I have had intense vaginal itching for a couple of weeks now. I went to my gyno and she said I definitely had a yeast infection and gave me 2 Diflucan. I've taken both, and I STILL have this intense itch. It doesn't last all day, but comes in bouts and it's driving me crazy! There's no odor, and I'm guessing some slight discharge, but I'm not understanding why the Diflucan wouldn't help.
Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool.

I used monostat one day and it did work but takes about 2 days. Why won't your doctor prescribe diflucan? It's a tablet you take and works well. It's not an antibiotic as antibiotics actually cause yeast infections but an antifungal (which yeast is a fungal issue). I'd ask for diflucan if your doctor is open to you being able to do that.
My symptoms began occuring about 2 weeks after the encounter, they have lasted about 1 month now. There are 2 main symptoms. One is a mild burning sensation when urinating in the morning only. The second is an itching sensation around the urethral opening of the penis, that feels like it runs down the shaft on the inside. Thanks for answering me so soon. My doctor started me on diflucan at 150 mg then added nystatin. He later said the diflucan wasn't strong enough. I'm now on 400mg a day. My eyes and lips are so dry. Could this be because of the diflucan? I was worried because it was still here after 6 months. I see you had to stay on it for months. I will see if I can find Yeast Cleanse online. I feel like the yeast and the diflucan are a big part of why I feel so bad.
since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!!

Hi! Usually when my patients give a similar description of symptoms, it turns out to be yeast, so Diflucan is a good medication to start with. If symptoms persist, I will often do a wet mount (look at the discharge under the microscope) a pH test (helps to distinguish yeast from bacterial infections (home tests can be purchased at your local drug store)
and sometimes a culture. I would usually rule out gonorrhea and chlamydia just as a routine part of my protocol too.
I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back. No bacteria grows in urine. He diagnosed it as a yeast infection, which I contracted from a partner that had one but was unaware of it at the time. I was on Augmentin (antibiotic) for a foot infection about a month ago and then soon started developing stomach cramps. I figured the cramps were related to what was wrong with my penis. I had a yeast infection and I use Monistat but forgot to use the last one but the symptoms went away and the odor came back but I started dating someone it's three weeks in and he said he thinks I have Easton faction because his urethra hurts so I got us both diflucan but the older haven't went away so I got a summers eve douche hoping it might help by the way it's going on six days and two prescribed pills of diflucan also random cramping
