My doctor gave it to me yesterday and I read that it has Not been proven safe for pregnant or nursing women. And no smart comments about "your doc wont give you anything unsafe to take while prego" because I started bleeding a WHOLE bunch last night/this morning around 1am and I had to go to the hospital. That's why I'm asking.

Mastitis was nasty stuff it started out as pain in my breasts then they got hard and were hot to the touch. Nursing and pumping sent shooting pains from nipple to the top of the breast in fact it felt like it was shooting right through my chest to my back. I never got the relief from feeding her it just hurt all the time. It was caused from milk sitting in my breast too long because I didn't pump it all out or waited too long between feedings.

The bleeding was light for the first week and very heavy for the last two weeks. I went to see an OBGYN and she took a simple and blood work...I have very painful and tender womb now still bleeding and awaiting the lab results. Please any advice is greatly appreciated.

I took the Diflucan. Day 5 i got my period. What do i do now?? And can i re-fill my Diflucan to take when i am thru with the antibiotic?? And really no tampons?? at all??

She recommended a gyn doctor that is good with diseases but he is no longer at the hospital she sent me too. I am constantly getting creams and diflucan for the yeast infections. I feel that my gyn is not meeting my need. I do not want to live on the creams and diflucan. I heard about a gyn on the radio that I would like to go to. I will make an appointment with her. I never took diflucan long term. I will get two diflucans at one time.

I went to the doctor and without hesitation he gave me a prescription for a drug called Diflucan. I looked the drug up a couple days after and found that it wasnt safe for pregnant or nursing women. It also sounds like you have yeast, and fairly significant amounts too. I prefer diflucan when treating yeast, and have had more than one case that required fairly lengthy treatments of 1-3 months. Some women seem to have to take it every month. One thing that is important--topical treatments can cause a dermatitis that can be worse than any infection. For this reason, I like to avoid topical/intravaginal therapies. Other than something like Boric acid (which might work for you too).

Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool. Then I got a really bad cold and was prescribed a Z pack. Surprise! Yeast was back. So I went to the doctor and this time they did a "wet mount" turns out I had BV and Yeast together.

I went to urgent care for treatment and was given diflucan and it didnt put a dent in it, so I went back. I was given more diflucan and it didnt do anything. I waited to see a gynocologist and had a pap smear and STD test, went back for an HPV screen. I was negative for it all and was given diflucan by her as well. I went back to her a second time and she gave me a cream for a yeast infection after admitting she didnt see signs for one and didnt know why I would be burning.

I also wonder if there is any correlation between the fact that I started drinking a bottle of beer (or 1/2 of one) each night for awhile. (because I am nursing a baby and my milk production went down during the stress of trying to rid myself and my family of the lice!) The yeast in the beer may have made things worse too. It is amazing how everything is connected. I will let you know if anything helps me, please also do the same if you find something that is a relief to you.

I have had candida for a little over a year now. It all started with strep throat that I required penicillin to combat. Penicillin helped but never fully eliminated the problem. I began to notice a lot of itching underneath my left arm. A few times I would put deodorant on and it would sting to high heaven. Then I noticed that classic yeast smell. I tried all types of treatments with no result, relief or answers.

One week ago I took the diflucan and now I have a sore by my peritoneum, I am so scared because I dont want to have genital herpes. I never had this happen before. When I had the yeast infection it was very bad and my vagina and by my anus was very itcy, red and sore. I am still having a little discharge but the itching is gone. I think that the sore came from the yeast infection. Do you have any insight on this.

I have been prescribed Nystatin rinse with little or no effect, and Diflucan 200mg first day and 100mg for six following days. All no resolution. I have had three HIV tests August 11, 2008, August 29, 2008 and October 10, 2008 all negative. I did take a course of antibiotics for three weeks in mid-August to early September including Doxycycline. Two questions, is it typical for oral candidiasis to be tough to clear up?

i saw the dr and he told me it was probably another prostate infection, possibly some urethritis, and a yeast infection! ARRGG!! he gave me more cipro and some diflucan. i took them both (1 diflucan) and took cipro for 10 days. symptoms in testicles and prostate felt better, but urethra was still hurting and uncomfortable mostly at night. my penis skin peeled like crazy, and the bumps got mostly better.

since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!! this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.

Also, ask for nystatin cream and extra steroid cream. Take the diflucan and use the nystatin + steroid cream and it will go away. The doctor will tell you nystatin already has steroids in it. But ask for additional steroid cream or it will come back over and over again. It is like a mutant yeast that takes multiple visits to get rid of. I’m a diabetic and that is a monthly thing for me. I went through two years of it. Needed eight of the diucan and almost three weeks of nystatin.

I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.

In my experience, the over the counter creams do not work for me but I am extremely sensitive to medications. I alwasy call my doctor and she'll call in a script for me. But, I think Diflucan is the only oral medication (at least it's the only oral medication I've ever heard of for yeast infections).

m currently treating a vaginal yeast infection and was wondering what your experiences were with Diflucan? How long does a typical yeast infection last? The itching and burning have subsided, and I took my first diflucan pill Sunday (doc gave me 4). I'm also using Vagisil for itching and irritated skin! Thanks!

I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? What are the side effects to the baby?

Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.
