Differin or tazorac

Common Questions and Answers about Differin or tazorac

differin

Avatar n tn Hello, Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
Avatar n tn A few years ago I had a horrible case of acne and was put on the Doryx pill for 3 weeks, wash with Brevoxyl 2x day, morning Tazorac topical and evening Duac topical. This combination cleared up all of my acne and dark spots in a month !!! So after two months I weened myself off of the topicals. Everything was fine. About 2 years later, I had another bad breakout. I have really oily skin, lots of white and blackheads and acne scarring (dark spots) resulted from these pimples.
1847035 tn?1327274923 I use neutrogena the brown face bar for acne prone skin for years it can be drying just dnt leave the soap on longer than a minute it washes clean and contains no medicine use a good face lotion as well with breakouts apply a cream from cvs or rite aid that contains benzoyl peroxide and apply generously at night or every other its drying then u should start to clear if u have huge cyst like bumps.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
443373 tn?1204941604 I wonder the same thing. I’m 30 now and I have LEN on the groin, scrotum , penis shaft, grundle, all around the anus, right leg calf and recently on my scalp. I had laser surgery back in 2005 on the groin scrotum and penis shaft. It was gone and I was so happy but just 3 years later it was back in full force. The sad truth is nothing can get rid of this. This thing itches so bad it’s absolutely ridiculous. It’s the most itchy thing ever and it’s every damn day.
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar m tn You should keep the wound dry and not apply any moisture to it. And certainly stop poking about with it. Wounds heal better when they are left to dry, a scab will form and when the skin is healed underneath, the scab will fall off. By messing about with it you are prolonging the healing process.
Avatar f tn He provided me with some antibiotics and a gel called Differin.. Which is supposed to dry out your pimples and anything else concerning the " acne".. As I used the differin I did not notice any changes in the rash.. I went back after a while and my doctor decided to give me prednison for a week.. Which did ok.. the rash disappeared only to come back less than a week after finishing the prednison treatment..
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar n tn Treatment consists of oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs. A mild soap or soap substitute, such as Dove or Cetaphil should be used for washing. Scrubbing should be avoided. The antibiotics that you are taking can be taken and they wont worsen your condition.Consult your doctor for prescribing you a less potent steroid cream as steroid creams can cause redness and peeling of the skin. I hope that helps.
Avatar n tn Dermatologists have found that the best prescription acne gel is Differin. Differin is especially effective when used in conjunction with oral treatment such as antibiotics or anti-androgens (for females only).
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar n tn So I thought maybe they were just a patch or dry skin, or skin a rubbed a bit raw when rubbing my eyes at night or something, so I tried applying Differin cream to it with no result. It is not spreading, but it is not going away either. Some have said it's just a mark I got from being overstressed, but i think that really means they have no idea...haha...help?
Avatar n tn There are no bumps or scaliness. I posted in the thyroid forum because I am having thyroid issues and wondered if it could be related but my endocrinologist doesn't seem to think so (of course doctors are notorious for missing things that can be obvious). It's only around my neck and it's making me miserable. I have not eaten anything new. I have not started wearing any new perfumes or using any different detergents. No new foods or drugs...nothing. No jewelry either.
Avatar m tn Now that those on the face has pretty much cleared up (only occasionally one or two coming up), the back has gone through good or worse times. The good times were when it's only black or white heads and they haven't been inflamed and the bad were when they get really red and big. I was on antibiotics before and for too long so I don't want to take any medicine. Topical treatment doesn't work either. I want to try natural ways to solve it.
