Differin cream adapalene side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Differin cream adapalene side effects

differin

Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar m tn The best way to treat this is with a course of oral antibiotics such as Oxytetracycline to kill acne-causing bacteria. In addition use a topical retinoid cream called Differin (adapalene) which is very good at clearing up the redness and soreness. Use a bland, soap-free cleanser to minimise irritation. I recommend Effaclar or Physiological Cleansing Gel by La Roche-Posay. Find a more sympathetic doctor. If untreated, acne can cause physical and psychological scars.
Avatar m tn There are many scrubs and masks on the market which can improve the appearance of blackheads. If they are of limited benefit to you, ask your doctor about Differin gel. This is a topical retinoid which contains Adapalene 0.1%. It works deep into your pores and is effective at clearing both acne and blackheads. Eloise.
Avatar m tn See your doctor for a topical synthetic retinoid called Differin. It is very effective and well tolerated with few side effects such as peeling or dryness. Differin contains 0.1% adapalene which is effective against the abnormal skin processes associated with acne. It will relieve the inflammation, soreness and irritation you feel. Acne is caused when androgens (hormones) stimulate the sebaceous (oil) glands.
Avatar n tn The dermatologist gave me Differin Gel, and topical antibiotic cream called Benzclin, and neither of these helped. The doctor at first thought that it was Cellulitis, and put me on Bacitricin, and then Cephalexin, and neither of those helped. The hard crusty skin seems to grow underneath my cheek, and it stays there for weeks until I can't stand the pain and itching anymore? The crusty skin seems to be super glued into my cheek.
Avatar n tn The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn HI, so now I should I stop using differin cream issued by the dermatologist? The differin cream I applied on my face every single night for two months ago is not helping, the doctor said it will help me to clear up my oily nose and blackheads , seem not helping at all.
Avatar n tn ve tried azelaic acid 20%, ascorbic acid 20%, kojic acid, glycolic acid, salicilyc acid, tranexamic acid, adapalene, tazarotene 0,1%, hidroquinone which made it worse, mercury bleaching cream, BBL, laser peel (resufacing), flucinolon. I think flucinolon worked best, but i can't use it long term on my face. When i use it, the inflamation and hyperpigmentation subside, but effects are immediatly reverted if i stop using it.
Avatar m tn Loss of apetite, dehydration. Increased bilrubin of 1.3 mg/dl SGOT/SGPT is normal with 24/15 Pain in bones, which has aggravated due to this Itching on the face Should I continue taking the above medications? If yes, what should be the dosage? One more question.....Scars are seen on the face due to the use of scalpel for removing the pimples and subsequent use of an anti-inflammatory/anti-biotic injection by a doctor...What should be done to make my face even.......
Avatar n tn I can tolerate the prescription acne gel Differin (adapalene 0.1%) ask your doctor about this. If your skin reacts to this, an oral acne medication may be more appropriate. A 12 weeks course of Oxytetracycline will kill the acne-causing bacteria on your skin. Eloise.
Avatar n tn Hi. See your doctor for a topical retinoid called Differin (adapalene 0.1%). This is very good at dealing with blackheads and acne. Do not try to remove the blackheads by squeezing as this can spread bacteria under the skin causing more breakouts. It can also delay healing and lead to secondary infection. A good face wash for oily skin is Estee Lauder's Sparkling Clean. Washing alone will not heal acne or blackheads so do ask your doctor about Differin.
Avatar f tn There is currently no known cure for keratosis pilaris, however, there are effective treatments available which make its symptoms less apparent. Treatment includes tretinoin or Triamcinolone cream or Adapalene, a retinoid medication. Exfoliation, intensive moisturizing creams, creams and lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids and urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Accutane has many potential side effects but this must be balanced against the fact that it provides the best chance of long term remission from acne. However, as your son may outgrow his tendancy for acne as adolesence passes, I agree this should be considered only if his acne continues after other treatments have been fully explored. Which antibiotic and creams has he tried? Erythromycin has a high resistance rate and oxytetracycline is usually preferable.
Avatar f tn It is not unusual for individuals to have side effects when they begin using a retinol product. Most manufacturers recommend beginning with 2 applications a week for the first week or so depending on how your skin reacts. After that you can increase to every other night and then to every night as your skin adjusts. I have used several products with retinol and this has always been the case for me. I do not have sensitive skin.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to manage some side effects I have been experiancing.I feel nausiated all day everyday. It seems the best time of day is in the morning. That`s when I actually feel a little hungery. But then after I eat I get sick.I have no apetite at all the rest of the day.I force myself to eat,but then without fail,I get sick. Avatar n tn Welcome back to the forum. I have no personal experience with sinechatechins (Veregen); we don't use it in my STD clinic. The reports in the medical literature indicate it works no faster and no better (and no worse) than other genital wart treatments. All available wart treatments work well about two thirds of the time and none is significantly better than any others. If one treatment doesn't promptly clear up the warts, we switch to another.
