I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.

Your doctor is not very well informed. Lexapro takes about for to six weeks to work, and it does take time when you up the dosage. Usually modern dosing, to play it safe, is to go up by 5mg increments, 10mg for depression, 20 mg for anxiety.

I was on cipralex (lexapro in the US) for almost 3 years and initially experienced some dry mouth, but no extreme side effects at all. It worked amazingly for me. I started on 10mg and then doubled to 20mg after 1 year. I recently switched to Paxil about 1 month ago, and have really disliked the way it makes me feel. My anxiety has been much worse and the side effects are just awful. It has been so much worse than cipralex.

can anyone explain the difference between the brand name Lexapro and the generic brand? i was reading your posts. my boyfriend was on the brand name lexapro and switched to the chemical brand in June. since then he has been spriraling downhill, out of control is there that much of a difference in brand name and off brand?

There are side effects with all medications and your doctor had a particular reason for choosing this one. Lexapro is usually very effective. You didn't mention whether you were having any side effects so I would see the point as mute. I would recommend you keep taking it as prescribed and see how it works for you.

I do not have insurance anymore and found out that my Lexapro(10mg) will cost me $109 a month, I can't afford that. I am in school and only collect unemployment. So, this past monday was my last day taking it. Last month I would take it every other day or sometimes every three days. I just feel kind of weird/strange. Hi I'm currently taking cipralex (antidepressants) for anxiety and panic attacks. Currently I have been feeling a strange electric shock type feeling going through my body. This is usually accompained by pulsing of muscles. I don't think this could be caused by anxiety as lately I have been less anxious. Sorry to hear about your situation. Cipralex (Lexapro) is an SSRI and SSRI's take weeks in your system before they start producing any therapeutic effect. In fact they can make your anxiety worse in the beginning as you ramp up on them. It took me 4 weeks on Cipralex before I started feeling like things. So if you're only on it 2 weeks maybe give it a bit more time.

I just realized that Cipralex and Lexapro are the same meds. I used to take Lexapro so I know exactly what your talking about. Yes, I do really think it's your meds causing the dizziness. I had it really bad when I was taking this med. I hated the dizzy rush feeling when I was drifting off to sleep. Do let your Dr know about what's going on though.

and if so when do I expect for this increased anxiety to go away ? And did anyone else in here take cipralex for GAD, SAD and PD ? and if so would you be kind enough to tell me if it has helped with these disorders or not ? And when do you start feeling better in general ?

After reading these posts and I am starting to put two and two together and they are definitely looking like they are adding up to weight gain from Lexapro. I started on Lexapro in early July. I weighed in at about 178 at that time - 5'9 and worked out almost every day. While I was experiencing the start up side effects from Lexapro (about 4 weeks) I didnt work out but didnt gain any weight during that time. Anyway long story short - in the last month to 6 weeks I have put on about 12 lbs.

I have told my doctor and he just says not to worry about it but it is not getting better. Anyone else have these same side effects? Also I get pins and needles up and down my arms and legs would this be a side effect? Thanks in advance.

I take 20mg of Lexapro (Cipralex) daily and because of my poor diet and lack of nutrition he suggested I start talking a multivitamin. So I started to about a year ago, but in the last several months or so I've noticed that whenever I take the multivitamin (even after 2 hours after taking the Cipralex) I get nauseous. I dont know if the two arnt agreeing with eachother, or the fact that im not eating enough because I know that multivitamins are not to be used as a supplement for food.

however, (based on you history) you run the risk of the depression returning. I had the same problem with cipralex (aka lexapro), and the depression came back 6 months after stopping it because of the sexual side-effect. There are other antidepressants that have less of an effect on sex drive. I had no problems with sex drive when I was on Prozac, and Wellbutrin has no sexual side-effects or weight gain. You should speak to your doctor about the risks / benefits of stopping the cipralex.

Cipralex is the same thing as Lexapro in the US. I've been on Lexapro for over two years (maybe longer) and I can't tell you how well it as worked for me. Tried Zoloft, Effexor XR, Paxil, Paxil CR and could not tolerate any of them. Gave up for a year, and then went back to the doctor and we tried Lexapro. psychologist reminded me that there is a big difference between wanting meds and needing meds... and that meds will not cure the cause of anxiety.... and my doctor wants me to increase my Lexapro dose (slowly) to 15mg a day because she feels the medication is not working as well as she wants it to for me .... so I am at a crossroads here...
