Make sure you take the vitamin with iron. You need the rest but you really need iron during pregnancy. Not taking the proper suppliments can lead to birth defects.
Some women go the whole 9 months without pre natal vitamins and their babies are fine. I would definitely start taking them though and make sure there is DHA in them. I take the wal mart brand Spring Valley Pre natals but they don't have DHA in them so I have to take the same brand with DHA but make sure it says pre natal on them.
Best thing to do is ask your doctor for samples. They have plenty to give away. I survived off samples & never had to purchase vitamins during or after pregnancy. Plus, there's different types of vitamins some with dha, some that don't. I prefer dha. Then there's vitamins that contain stool softeners or nausea pills. I was nasuated in my firstttrimester, so the ones with nausea pills helped a lot.
My doctor is big on dha. I take preferaOB ONE they have pre/post-natal Nutritional Supplement+DHA they're pretty good but its prescribed without insure they cost $123.00 :/. They also sell milk with DHA its pretty good but expensive.
It seems like some women have to try a few different brands, due to certain ingredients upsetting their stomach and such.
You will also have to choose whether you want to get gummies or regular pills. Pills have more nutrients so you only have to take one a day, but some people just have too much trouble swallowing pills.
It will pretty well narrow down to what works the best for you personally.
I am also due October 25th, I am taking the vita fusion prenatal gummies. They taste awesome and if I make sure to take them before bedtime I don't get sick from them. I got them at Target for like 9 bucks here in WA state.
Well the one I take is Nature Valley I believe name is,but since I been taking it my hair, nails etc have grown. Had to switch because the ones my Dr prescribed me cost almost $200 and only last every 30 days for 12 months.
I recently switched to a different vitamin that does not make me sick called Spring Valley ! Its been good to me so far but my last appointment I forgot to tell my doctor about the new prenatal vitamin I'm using do or did anybody ever use this vitamin during pregnancy ??
I take spring valley prenatal pills it doesnt have a taste at all or the other one I love to take is the gel cap nature made prenatal multi and DHA love that one no after taste and I take one at night after a meal so it doesnt upset my tummy even though it has no taste
Im takin the kind that come with the DHA pill along with the reg. Multi pill...I just have 2 remember to eat when I take the or I end up burping up a fishy flavor..YUK!! Lol...
I take spring valley gummies. They come with 3 flavors. ..orange, strawberry and lemon. They are so good. Got them at walmart for about $10 or less.
