Common Questions and Answers about Dha products

dha

Avatar n tn Some products use Erythrulose combined with the DHA. Erythrulose works identically to DHA on the skin surface, but develops more slowly. The two chemicals used together may produce a longer lasting sunless tan. Dihydroxyacetone or Erythrulose may cause contact dermatitis. First time users of sunless tanning products should apply them to a small patch of skin and wait 24 hours before a full body application. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar m tn no it is not harmful it is a must, but the quality and concentration of epa and dha must be very high at 2-3g daily (fish oil quantity is not useful check epa/dha), most products are scam with very low dha/epa so useless.

Avatar m tn Levels used in therapy to lower blood triglycerides, also a risk factor for cardiovascular disease, are higher, about 2-4 grams of combined EPA and DHA per day. The OSU studies with mice used DHA at levels comparable to the triglyceride therapies. "DHA was more effective than EPA at attenuating inflammation, oxidative stress, fibrosis and hepatic damage," the researchers wrote in their conclusion.
1276890 tn?1271027818 I became vegan about a month ago and I have come to realize that now that my stomach has not been using enzymes to break down meat, dairy products, and some fats, I might have lost these enzymes. I am afraid that I should incorporate some fish and some good fats in my diet because not eating any will take a toll on my body. But everyone has a different opinion on what fats are really good.

The site goes on to say that: “If DHA could penetrate the skin and enter the bloodstream, there is no doubt that would be undesirable. Avatar m tn t just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding.

412873 tn?1329174455 Sunless tanning products may contain anywhere between 1 to 15 percent DHA; the higher the DHA level, the darker the tan produced. Manufacturers of sunless tan products claim that DHA is a simple carbohydrate sugar solution but a toxicologist who investigated the harmful effects of tanning beds disagrees. Even the FDA has not approved the use of DHA in spray tan booths. The FDA previously approved the use of DHA as an ingredient in tanning products but strictly for topical application only.
Avatar f tn I am only worried bc I am already unable to eat any milk products due to the babies father having lactose issues. I feel that is part of my issue bc with my first I was basically living off cereal. I have started an iron supplement along with my calcium, magnesium, zinc, frolic acid, and DHA. I have been unable to take a prenatal due to getting sick no matter what I do to help.
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
