1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
Avatar f tn They will provide dental implants, invisalign, orthodontics treatments and many more.
Avatar m tn ve had this permanent onlay for 3 years in a molar, and it just popped out when I was flossing. I have good dental health, but had orthodontics on and off in the mean time [there was a metal ring around that molar]. Could this have weakened the onlay? How should I approach my dentist? I am mad that their work didn't last, and wonder if their repair will. I'm also wondering if they give a price break on the repair vs. going to a new dentist for the repair.
Avatar n tn Is Dental Jewellery safe.. What is the procedure like.. What are the options available & cost..
Avatar n tn I'm not an orthodontist, but I can tell you a few things as an adult who just finished having braces...Yes, teeth can be crooked after taking the braces off, especially when patients aren't compliant about following through with the retainment plan set out by the orthodontist, but even then there are some cases where teeth move back into their crooked position. There are lots of pros to braces.
Avatar f tn I had it the start of a root canal in my first trimester, they will not touch me now until the baby is out, the first trimester is the safest for dental after that it's tricky for several reasons, they don't like you to lay on your back for too long later in pregnancy so the dentist usually will not touch pregnant women that are beyond their first trimester
Avatar f tn It was discovered incidentally a little over a year ago that I had four teeth with external root reabsorption. I have never had an injury or orthodontics and I have very healthy teeth with no dental work. I went back after having four implants and during routine follow-up they found that another tooth was affected. Another implant was placed and when I went back to get my stitches out they found two more teeth, I am up to 8 teeth now with no known cause.
Avatar n tn I read a post in which a person at pediatric dental clinic gave the suggestion to a parent of a disabled child that she try a molt mouth prop for dental hygiene for her disabled child. She stated that the place she works sells them for about $50. i'm wondering if I could purchase for my son as our dentist has recommended we get one for our disabled son for whom oral hygiene is an extreme challenge but the cost is $150 which we can't afford. Any help?
Avatar f tn I live in Federal Way Wa, south of Seattle so if anyone can recommend a kind of compassionate dentist that can deal with a dental phobia patient I would appreciate it. Thanks!
498623 tn?1212932319 I was in braces for 10 years and the only way to fix the bite at this point is orthoganathic surgery. I have post poned this due to the fact that the insurance company considers it cosmetic. But since the fact (its been four years) I have developed horrible jaw pain.. it causes huge headaches.. and makes it difficult to eat. The pain never really goes away, its very consistent.
Avatar n tn I have been a pediatric dental assistant for 8 years and have seen lots of cross bites. The dentist I work for now likes to see if the bite corrects it self when the permanent teeth erupt. The older dentist in our practice likes to do them as soon as the patient is compliant. It also matters what kind of cross bite your child has. Is it a posterior or an anterior?
746512 tn?1388807580 Wow, somedays I want to run out on the streets and scream--IT'S NOT YOUR BITE THAT CAUSES TMJ PROBLEMS, IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND. My profession is unfortunately stuck in the dark ages on this one. I have literally successfully treated hundreds of patients that had previous orthodontics and jaw surgery (not the TMjoint) to 'solve' their TMJ issues (and it didn't). I don't walk on water--can barely swim, but I've learned to improve on my past failures.
Avatar n tn who ordered a CT scan completed which shows nothing unusual, neurologist (was of no help), ear nose throat specialist, and presenting going regularly to a dental college wherein they say I have atypical facial pain. I am presently on a neurontin for RX. Nothing relieves the pain unless I lay down and then sleep fine. Sometimes (and oddly enough), when I eat or chew gum the pain goes away. I am now trying acupuncture. Does anyone have other ideas?
Avatar m tn I started my orthodontics treatment three weeks ago with my #10 missing. my original mid line (position of #9 and #8) is good. about one week ago I found out my #9 and #8 moving towards #10 space and the mid line is off. I am very worried. how could mid line to its optimal position garantteed? when orthodontics put braces /arch wire on, how he adjust it to bring patient's #8 #9 to their optimal position? I tried to talk with my orthodontist, but he seems don't think mid line is off...
Avatar n tn Anyway, I will see an orthodontist soon, and I am wondering what options I have. IS 30% + bone loss too substantial for orthodontics? Can bone and gum grafts repair the regression. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Maybe this is a stupid question but I'm throwing it out there anyway. I am 34 and have a ton of crowding in my bottom teeth. I was unable to have my lower wisdom teeth removed 5 years ago because of the risk of oral nerve damage. I was told that I had a 99% chance of having permanent nerve damage so they would only remove the uppers which I had done.
Avatar n tn I'm a year into orthodontics now....and have been doing the best dental hygiene I can, using pre-rinse, proxy brushing, regular brushing, flossing, and a fluoride mouthwash. The fluoride mouthwash is what I wanted to ask about. I've been using Listerine Defense, but I find that it is too strong...I've read that you shouldn't water down any fluoride mouthwash...is that true? Is there any other mouthwash that you would recommend?
Avatar n tn at some point, depending on your overall dental condition, it may be wiser to extract the tooth and replace it with a bridge or implant. ask your dentist about this.
Avatar dr m tn How many of you have dental crowding or small jaws? Did you have to undergo any extractions or require orthodontic work because of this?
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn I do wonder about my extremely narrow upper jaw (missing 2 teeth )and large tongue situtation, as it has been suggested to me that these dental problems could be contribuitng to my symptoms, although a limited interdisciplinary dialogue seems to exist between medical and dental science, and many are slow to entertain such suggestions.
Avatar n tn Even though there appears not to be a lot of scientific papers on these issues, or direction from the dental societies or dental schools, the one thing that they do have in common is the enormous cost. Even if the cost was an attainable one, it would be difficult to proceed based on the inability to predict the success of the procedure. Can someone tell me why temporal mandibular pain is so common? Is it present amongst those people who have never had fillings or orthodontic work?
Avatar n tn I have posted before on this board, and with good news can report that I'm done with all dental work minus crowns...which I've been advised to not get until after we do orthodontic treatment. My question is...I've made a couple of consultations here, one of which is for an option called "Fast Braces", I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
Avatar n tn It does not hurt, is very small, and comes and goes. My dentist thinks I need to remove that tooth and have a dental implant because there is going to an infection to my jawbones. Since there is no pain and the tooth seems pretty solid (for now), is this really necessary at the moment? I was told not to wait longer than two months before removing it. I don't want to regret it.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar m tn My 18 month old had a mild case of baby bottle rot, except that he never had a bottle, so it's more like Baby Nipple Rot. His doctors thought it would be best to put some caps on his 4 affected teeth. We awoke at 5:30am and drove through hellish snow and dangerously icy conditions to have this operation done. So already we're not in our right minds. We were so afraid for our little guy. So very worried about the procedure.
