ddavp nose spray

I had my surgery in Aug 2001, and for the first year or so the DDAVP was good, then slowly it began to change. I started with the nazal spray however, that was like sucking gasoline up my nose, then I switched to the pill form. I have asked if it is possible to have this healed, and they tell me no, however, I pray that it will cease. Anyway I hope to talk again with you, it is just wonderful to finally speak to someone who id DI, I just can't tell you.

I have used a nasal spray (DDAVP) for three weeks, but the bleeding did not stop. I tried doubling up on the nasal spray since I was prescribed the wrong strength, but it did not help. I had my second Depo Provera shot on December 7. I thought it would help make the bleeding stop, but I am still bleeding. I have also tried a estrogen pill I was prescribed, but it has not helped. I know I will have light bleeding on the Depo Provera, but is it normal to be bleeding for 37 days?

There is a drug called Desmopressin (DDAVP) it reduces urine production at night. But drinking too much liquid with the medication can cause problems, and Desmopressin should be avoided if you have symptoms such as a fever, diarrhea or nausea. Be sure to carefully follow instructions for using this drug. Desmopressin is given orally as a tablet and is only for patients over 5 years old.

I wake up often in the night needing the nose spray and my doctor has said I have got no allergies (I have been tested) and has not been of any help, it is so hard to put up with this as I feel constantly drained and can't last very long without needed more of the decongestant. Any ideas or help?

So I have to take DDAVP most of the time now. Before I used to be able to get away with only taking it at night. Maybe this is part of what is going on. I don't really have answer per se, but just an idea on why it might fluctuate more if u have it.

How do you wean off the medicine DDAVP? I've been taking this medicine for many years only to find out my tests say I don't need it (I had small injury to pituitary in brain). Unfortunately I find it almost impossible to wean off because it makes you go to the bathroom ALOT after the medicine ware's off! since it's an anti diuretic/water retaining pill! Confusing and tricky.

The medication used for this is called Dessmopressin or DDAVP. It is available in a pill form, nasal spray or injection. There are a few other conditions that can mimic this so it is important to get it ruled in or out. I have this and without medication I am also up every half hour drinking and peeing.i rec that you see a neuro endo to rule this out, your other pituitary hormones, and have a current MRI. It may be as simple as taking a little pill every night to help you to hold onto fluids.

You also may use a saline nasal spray, such as Ocean or Nasal. Do not use Neosynephrine nasal spray for longer than 3 days. You may take Robitussin DM for coughs or chest congestion. A warm salt-water gargle is recommended for a sore throat. Throat drops, spray, or lozenges are acceptable. A cool air vaporizer may help you sleep at night. Increased fluid intake and getting sufficient rest are essential. If your nasal or throat drainage changes from a clear color, please call the office.

Good post! I have been addicted to afrin nose spay off and on for over 10 years.I too have bad allergies. I can't not stand my nose stuffed up at all. My grandpa , dad, and brother all have been addicted to 4-way nose spray. They don't seem to plan on stopping. I am currently using the afrin nose spray again b/c I got sick and had a stuffed up nose. I also can't sleep with my nose just a little stuffed up.

I am suffering seriously from stuffy nose- I can't breath! I am using nasivin nose spray but I am worried that it's not safe for the baby. Anyone in similar situation and what are you doing to get relief?

s plugged again and then I have to spray the afrin up my nostril again. I do have allergies, like running nose and itchy eye. My nose been plugged before but it was NOT this bad.

I have a runny nose 12 months of the year. I take cortisone nose spray and anti histamine tablets to no avail. I have had allergy tests that have come back negative but food allergy tests have come back with a number of food allergies. Could a food allergy cause a runny nose?

some of that deodorant from my nose and mouth enter to my body. if because of any reason some blood or sexual liquid of her(i know it is unusual but with accepting this) entered to this deodorant spray in the past and the virus og hiv remain in it and then after she sprayed it the viruses entere to my body(for example from a small hurt in my skin) and infect me. is there any risk of hiv?

Does anyone know if you can get a spray tan while you are pregnant? I am getting soo white!

You can also try little noses saline spray or afrin nose spray that's what I've been using :) feel better

Unfortunate as this sounds i used 2 do alot of nose blowing(bad habitLOL) so i had a real big problem with my nose drying out real, real bad and my Dr told me to use a combo of a nose spray called DEEP SEA its a sodium chloride spray and then rub a ointment called AQUAPHOR by Eucerin around the inside rim of my nose! it really does work promise. Let me know how it goes. U wont be wasting your money.

If it's,allergies you could take benadryl. That helps me when im sick and stuffy.

I use zomig nasal spray for my migraines and one of the side effects is nose bleeds in the side that you spray the medicine in. Probably not what's going on in your case... but since you get migraines, just thought I'd throw that out there just in case!

You could also use ocean spray nasal spray as well. It always clears up my stuffy nose and is safe to use!

One of the ways we would try to determine this was by prescribing DDAVP (if there were not any issues that would prevent using it). Desmopressin (trade names: DDAVP, Stimate, Minirin) is a synthetic replacement for vasopressin, the hormone that reduces urine production. It may be taken nasally, or as a tablet. Lack of the hormone vasopressin is more common in men than in women. Typically, those that do not produce enough will "correct" by the end of puberty (19-25 years old for men).

Can I use an inhaler for my stuffy nose, I think I got the cold from one of my students :( after all I did not to get sick.

I used nostrilla spray for many years, and now I hav high bloood pressure, do you think nostrilla spray caused that? if I stop use that and take the medicine, do you think the high blood pressure will go away? or I have to take med all my life? thanks.

Thanks for the information. Is there anything else I can do like a vaporizer? Would that help at all do you know?
