Cyclobenzaprine and naproxen

Common Questions and Answers about Cyclobenzaprine and naproxen

Avatar n tn naproxen and cyclobenzaprine. I also take imitrex for my migraines (which hardly helps). Even with these two medications, my pain is peak high. The muscles on the left side of my neck are extremely tight and sore, with the right being less painful. I've been to a few doctors, but no one is telling me what is wrong exactly. I've read some of your answers in this forum, and I see you recommend an EMG quite frequently. What is that exactly, and what does it involve?
Avatar n tn Iam suffering with FMS taking Naproxen and Amth atripline to help me sleep and muscle relaxants. However I seem to be getting more muscle cramps from head to toe. Getting scared now that this is going to be more of a daily thing - is it part of the FMS and is there more to self help?
Avatar m tn On the phone they asked what I was taking and I rambled off some of them like flexeril and motrin and they interrupted me. They ask if I was taking any anti-depressants. But they never said what they were looking for specifically. They aren't discriminating. They asked for a list of prescriptions from my doctor so they can approve my test.
Avatar f tn hi sms, well thisis pathetic. No need for these medicines. Take a second opinion. where r you from?is he under severe pain?
Avatar n tn I was in a car accident March 20th, 2009. I was put on cyclobenzaprine and naproxen for 3 months by my doctor to treat whiplash from mid back to neck. At that time I had a severe reaction to naproxen and developed severe ankle to hip pain. Then my doctor put me on tramadol with cyclobenzaprine. I was still experiencing shots of pain down my arms About a month later, so my doctor had me get a MRI of my neck.
Avatar f tn They may experience numbness and tingling into the middle finger. The phrenic nerve arises in the neck. It is formed from C3, C4, and C5 nerve fibers and descends along the anterior surface of the scalenus anterior muscle before entering the thorax to supply motor and sensory input to the diaphragm. At what point are you with your treatment, have you had an MRI?
Avatar m tn No doctor seems to believe me when I talk to them about my situation or they don't care, I have since been prescribed 10mg cyclobenzaprine (Primary care) once a day, 500mg naproxen sodium (podiatrist... bunion, arthritis, hyper elastic tendons causing the joints in my feet to collapse under pressure) every 12hrs, 100mg gabapentin 3 times a day from my neurologist for "minor neuropathy caused by improper long term levothyroxine levels... none of which really does much.
Avatar f tn Went to emergency with severe pain in right shoulder, up into the neck and down the right arm (woke up with it). Have been on 500 mg. Naproxen , twice daily, for 3 weeks, and 10 mg. Pms-cyclobenzaprine every 8 hours. I'm still experiencing pain plus some new tingling down the arm. Should I be going back to my doctor? It seems this is taking an unusually long time to get better.
Avatar f tn My brother is on welfare and the doctors at the clinic have given him the following meds. Tramadol 50 mg, Trazadone 50mg,Amitriptyline 10mg, cyclobenzaprine 10mg, Hydrocodone/APAP 5mg/500mg. In addition he was also given medication for Diabetes Type II, metformin 850 mg, glipizide 5mg, lisinopril 5 mg, simvastatin 20mg, Asprin 81 mg, Ranitidine 150 mg. Additionally he was also prescribed Naproxen 500mg and Alumina Magnesia 360 ml. I think this is too much medication. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn The doctor prescribed Naproxen when I attended for the 3rd rabies shot, I had been dealing with the pain using Robaxacet and Motrim and she thought maybe the anti-inflamatory might help. The Naproxen didn't help and I bought more Robaxacet and pain patches. A friend at work, in putting some deep heat rub on my back when the pills were not helping enough noticed a swollen lump (baseball size) on the other side of the pain/tender point on my back (between my spine and the right shoulder blade).
Avatar f tn An occasional muscle relaxant such as cyclobenzaprine may also help a bit. Wearing an abdominal binder may help to compress the seroma and help it resolve faster. I’ve also heard reports of using a diuretic (water pill) such as furosemide to speed the reabsorption, but have not resorted to this in my practice. Sorry if there’s not a whole lot to offer, but perhaps some of these ideas may help.
Avatar f tn I went to the ER and was seen by the resident physician, who said from the looks of it, my spine and neck were fine but the muscle in my shoulder was severely hyper-extended from the accident, and prescribed me Cyclobenzaprine 10mg 3x daily and Naproxen 500mg 2x daily. I contacted my PCP who informed me that he would rather not see my injuries due to the other driver in the accident being cited and the insurance company would probably not pay him for the office visit.
Avatar m tn Yes, I'm sure. Muscle relaxants like carisoprodol (Soma), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), and even diazepam (Valium), and clonazepam (Klonipin) are not narcotic agents, although the last two are benzodiazepines. Ask your doc about dantrolene (Dantrium).
211940 tn?1267884866 However, he said it could NOT be causing me so much pain. He checked out my arm and noticed a hard soft tissue knot, and suggested removing it through surgery and it "might" relieve my pain. So, 3 weeks ago I had the said surgery and it was removed (a hard soft tissue mass about the size of a marble). No, this was not the cyst inside my humerus bone. Anyways, I still have the pain, and it is extremely terrible at night (on a scale of 1 to 10, a 20 at night).
Avatar f tn Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and naproxen (Aleve) are used to relieve mild to moderate pain. However, due to your liver condition secondary to hepatitis C infection, it is challenging to find the appropriate medication to relieve your pain without further compromising your kidneys and liver. I apologize that I am not able to give you a list of recommended pain medications as requested.
Avatar f tn The Tramadol is not a narcotic and neither is the Cyclobenzaprine as that is the muscle relaxer. The Hydrocodone is a low dose so he should be alright.

Avatar n tn Stopped all the craziness in training (running, cycling, swimmign) and moved to a once of twice a week I go for a swim or do some yoga. Never been ill before except for about 5 years ago I had a similar brain pain episodes.. several days of extreme pain.. got the MRI .. nothing came up. Its been approx. 3 months now.. and I have this throbbing nerve pulling pain in my left temple just above the eye... along with shoulder blade pains (massages help a bit sometimes)..
Avatar n tn I also have a torturous time climbing steps, as well as stabbing cramps and pain in my legs. Leg and thigh weakness is profound, and progressive. Regardless, I wake up in pain, and I go to bed at night with severe pain. Up until recently, I was taking 1 Tylenol #3 at bedtime which helped to lessen the nighttime pain, and in another way, helped to ease the morning pain as well.
Avatar n tn I am unable to brush my hair or do any movement with my arms above my shoulders. General arm movement just causing extreme tiredness and even at rest the pain and ache is 6 / 10. I canot hold or lift a coffe cup to my mouth and the problem is also in my chest at times (although not after I have woken ) . The only other problen I had noticed in the past few months was occasional difficulty swallowing (again put it down to anxiety/depression, although I dont mentally feel depressed or anxious).
2207073 tn?1338935516 long-acting/short-acting opioid medications, cyclobenzaprine, valium, gabapentin, 4-5 OTC naproxen sodium tablets, and an anti-depressant. I most certainly believe the medications you are taking are helping you and also helping the injections work more effectively. The Gabapentin and the meloxicam are medications that significantly help reduce sciatica.

Avatar m tn 'Suicidal thought and ideation' on SSRIs, Ambien causing people to sleep eat/drive/****/fall down stairs and get hurt, diarreah and seizures from Gabapentin, etc. And guess what, take too many of ANY pill and you're going to friggin die. Guess I should stock up my Ambien now while I can, only a matter of time before people start dying from those things trying to use them in inscrupulous ways. I was prescribed one pill, one pill that made it so I could mow my lawn and not be in agony.
Avatar f tn I am also on Nucynta 100mg, Butrans Patch 10mcg, Flexeril 10mg, Lexapro 10mg and Naproxen 500mg. I recently saw a New Dr. a rheumatologist he put me on Cymbalta 30mg for 10 days then 60mg after that. When I had the Rx filled my Pharmacist said I could not take the Flexeril and Lexapro with the Cymbalta as it can cause some kind of syndrome that can be fatal. So I stopped both. A week later I saw my Pain Management/Orthopedic Surgeon and they said they were taking me off Percocet.
Avatar f tn cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) -Acupuncture and pain-relief meditation exercises As no medicine has broken the headache cycle, preventative headache medicines have been limited. Took Topirimate (Topamax) for one month, discontinued due to lack of response and side effects (breakthrough bleeding due to reaction with birth control pill). Last night I began taking Nortriptyline.
Avatar n tn I'm just taking easy and taking some rest with lots of water. Naproxen could help but acyclovir and the like will reduce the duration or even prevent attacks in the future. My best remedy is prevention. Know your limit and step down activities. Sleep at normal time. My body clock goes mental after 12am; unless I'm having a party and will sleep once over.
Avatar n tn Doctor prescribed 60 Norco 10/325 10mgs and Flexerin (Cyclobenzaprine) 10 mgs. The Norco were prescribed on 6/22 and I finished them off 7/29. I haven't used the Flexeril as the Norco seemed to work. I was only taking them in the evening 1/2 at a time up to a total of 2-2.5 pills. Never felt any type of w/d until last night when I didn't take any. I kept clinching my fists and didn't really get any good sleep. Took a half of flexerin and didn't really help any.
